The Col d'Aubisque (Occitan: Còth d'Aubisca) (elevation 1,709 m (5,607 ft)) is a mountain pass in the Pyrenees 30 km (19 mi) south of Tarbes and Pau in the department of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in the Aquitaine region of France. The pass is on the northern slopes of the Pic de Ger (2,613 m (8,573 ft)) and connects Laruns, in the valley of the Gave d'Ossau, via Eaux-Bonnes (west) to Argelès-Gazost, in the valley of the Gave de Pau, via the Col du Soulor (east). The road crosses the Cirque du Litor, in the upper part of the Ouzom valley. It is generally closed from December to June. The pass is the starting point of several excursions and a centre for winter sports. In summer, it is popular with cyclists. It is regularly part of the Tour de France, generally rated an hors catégorie (beyond categorization) climb.

Eaux-Bonnes (French: [o bɔn], "good waters"; Occitan: Aigas Bonas) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in south-western France.

Arbéost (French pronunciation: [aʁbeɔst]; Occitan: Arbiost) is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in southwestern France.

Col du Soulor (elevation 1,474 m (4,836 ft)) is a mountain pass in the Pyrenees in France, linking Argelès-Gazost with Arthez-d'Asson. It connects the Ouzom and Arens valleys. A road leaves the pass to the west to reach the higher Col d'Aubisque. The road over the col is regularly used in the Tour de France cycling race, normally in conjunction with the Col d'Aubisque.

Aas (Occitan: Aas) is a French village of about a hundred inhabitants in the commune of Eaux-Bonnes, Ossau valley, historical province of Haut-Béarn, departement Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Its shepherds maintained a whistled language until the 20th century. According to Graham Robb, no outsiders knew of the language until a 1959 TV program mentioned it. Whistles were up to 100 decibels, and were used for communication by shepherds in the mountains and by women working in the fields. During the Nazi occupation of World War II, the language was used to ferry refugees across the Spanish borders.

Artouste, or Artouste-Fabrèges, (Occitan: Artosta e Habrèjas) is a winter sports resort in the French Pyrenees. It is located in the commune of Laruns in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The resort operates the Petit train d'Artouste during the summer period. In the face of climate change, the resort is also developing ancillary activities to compensate for an expected lack of snow in winter.

Ferrières (French pronunciation: [fɛʁjɛʁ] ; Occitan: Herrèra) is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in south-western France.

Laruns (French pronunciation: [laʁœ̃s]; Occitan: Laruntz) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in south-western France. It is situated at the confluence of two mountain streams, the Gave d'Ossau and its tributary, the Valentin. Formerly part of the province of Béarn, Laruns is now within the département of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, itself in France's Nouvelle-Aquitaine région. It forms part of the arrondissement of Oloron-Sainte-Marie, and of the canton of Oloron-Sainte-Marie-2.

The Ossau Valley (French: Vallée d'Ossau [vale dɔso]; Gascon: Aussau / la vath d'Aussau) is a valley of the French Pyrénées, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques département.

Béost (French pronunciation: [beɔst]; Gascon: Biost) is a commune of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in southwestern France.

Louvie-Soubiron (French pronunciation: [luvi subiʁɔ̃]; Lobièr sobiran or Lobièr de Haut in occitan) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in south-western France.

Sesa is a municipality located in the Hoya de Huesca comarca, province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain. According to the 2010 census the municipality has a population of 225 inhabitants. Its postal code is 22110. There is a church in Sesa, the church of San Juan Bautista, and the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Jarea is also found in the village. Both date back to the 12th century. There is an ancient Iberian archaeological site at a place known as "El Portillo", located within Sesa's municipal territory. In the Middle Ages there was an important castle in Sesa.
