Confederate Powderworks

The Sibley Mill is a historic building located on the Augusta Canal at 1717 Goodrich Street near downtown Augusta, Georgia, United States. Designed by Jones S. Davis, it was built on a site previously occupied by the Confederate Powderworks, and was completed in 1882. While the interior is typical of any textile mill of the period, its imposing exterior is notable for an ornate style variously described as eclectic and neo-gothic. Textile products were produced there until 2006, since when the building has been unoccupied. The mill was built to operate on hydropower, and continues to generate electricity today.

WYNF (1340 AM) is a radio station licensed to Augusta, Georgia, United States. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, and serves as Augusta's affiliate for the Black Information Network. Its studios are located at the Augusta Corporate Center near the I-20/I-520 interchange in Augusta, and the transmitter tower is west of Paine College in Augusta. Up until September 2010, this station, as WSGF, carried a gospel format as "Hallelujah 1340". In September 2010, WYNF and its sports format moved to 1340; the call sign and format were previously on 1380, which was sold off and later became WNRR. On June 29, 2020, fifteen iHeartMedia stations in markets with large African American populations, including WYNF, began stunting with African American speeches, interspersed with messages such as "Our Voices Will Be Heard" and "Our side of the story is about to be told," with a new format slated to launch on June 30. That day, WYNF, along with the other fourteen stations, became the launch stations for the Black Information Network, an African American-oriented all-news network. Prior to the change, WYNF was a Fox Sports Radio affiliate.

Lake Olmstead Stadium is a baseball park in Augusta, Georgia, United States. It was built between the 1994 and 1995 seasons to replace Heaton Stadium on the same site and can hold 4,822 people. The stadium also serves as an outdoor-arena style event venue. Lake Olmstead Stadium was primarily used as the home field of the Augusta GreenJackets of the Class A South Atlantic League from 1995 to 2017, after which the GreenJackets moved to the new SRP Park across the Savannah River in North Augusta, South Carolina, in 2018.Lake Olmstead Stadium was the home field of the Augusta University Jaguars baseball team for most of their games from 2009 to 2013 and all of their games from 2014 to 2018; however, the team elected to return to Jaguar Field on the Forest Hills campus full-time starting in the 2019 season.

Heaton Stadium was a baseball stadium in Augusta, Georgia, United States. It was the home field of the Augusta Pirates/Augusta GreenJackets Minor League Baseball team of the Class A South Atlantic League from 1988 to 1994. After the 1994 season the site was redeveloped as the GreenJackets' next home, Lake Olmstead Stadium.Heaton Stadium was named for Bill Heaton, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and partner in the team ownership who worked for six years to bring a minor league club to Augusta. Heaton reportedly built the stadium with his own money, assembling bleachers bought from other locations with the help of volunteers and high school workers paid minimum wage.

The Butt Memorial Bridge is a road bridge in Augusta, Georgia that carries 15th Street over the Augusta Canal. It is dedicated to Major Archibald Willingham Butt, born in Augusta and a victim of the sinking of RMS Titanic. The bridge was erected in 1914 and dedicated by President William Howard Taft, a personal friend of Butt's. It is notable that the bridge was the first memorial erected to remember the Titanic disaster, and it stands today as the only memorial in Georgia dedicated to the disaster. The bridge is made of stone, featuring four pillars topped with bronze-banded globes placed over electric lights. Four lions with plaques adorn each side and end of the bridge, while lights are strung from one end of the bridge to the other. A memorial plaque is located on the center of the bridge, dedicated to Butt's memory. The bridge was designed by William Henry Deacy, architect and Nisbet Wingfield, civil engineer. The bridge was fabricated by W. W. Leland Company.

The Enterprise Mill is a historical residential and office complex along the Augusta Canal in Augusta, Georgia. Enterprise is located at the corner of Greene Street and 15th Street.

Tubman High School is a historic high school building in Augusta, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1994. It is located at 1740 Walton Way. It was named for Augusta philanthropist Emily Harvie Thomas Tubman and was founded as Neely's Institute in 1874. A new Tubman High School building was funded by a bond issue and constructed in 1917 according to designs by G. Lloyd Preacher. The three-story brick building's design is considered Beaux Arts architecture and includes terra cotta. It was the area's only public high school for girls until the 1950s.It became a co-educational junior high school in 1951 and is now a middle school.

The Julian Smith Casino in Augusta, Georgia is not a gambling establishment as persons outside the CSRA might think from its name. The casino part of its name is in the older sense of a place of recreation, not just a place of gambling. It is named after Julian Smith, a former mayor of Augusta. It is located at Lake Olmstead Park and can handle a banquet function for 300.

Augusta University (AU) is a public research university and academic medical center in Augusta, Georgia. It is a part of the University System of Georgia and has satellite medical campuses in Savannah, Albany, Rome, and Athens. It employs over 15,000 people, has more than 56,000 alumni, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Augusta University Health System includes the 478-bed Augusta University Medical Center, the 154-bed Children's Hospital of Georgia, and more than 80 outpatient clinics.

The Medical District of Augusta, Georgia, is a special-use zoning district located between downtown and Summerville. The district is bounded to the north by Walton Way, to the east by R.A. Dent Boulevard, to the west by Heard Avenue, and to the south by Wrightsboro Road. The district comprises a number of medical facilities and private medical companies.

Augusta University Health is an academic health center that manages the clinical operations associated with Augusta University. It is a health care network that offers primary, specialty and sub-specialty care in the Augusta, Georgia area and throughout the Southeastern United States.

The Medical College of Georgia (often referred to as MCG) is the flagship medical school of the University System of Georgia, the state's only public medical school, and one of the top 10 largest medical schools in the United States. Established in 1828 as the Medical Academy of Georgia, MCG is the oldest and founding school of Augusta University and played a role in the establishment of the American Medical Association and the standardization of medical practices. It is the third-oldest medical school in the Southeast and the 13th oldest in the nation. With 22 departments, it offers both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) as well as MD-PhD, MD-MPH, and MD-MBA degrees. Its national ranking in research is 75, and its ranking in primary care is 91, both out of 191 ranked medical schools.In response to the shortage of physicians, the school has grown in recent years. Beginning in 2010, MCG expanded to include multiple regional campuses across the state. In addition to its main clinical campus in Augusta, clinical training is offered at campuses in Albany, Rome, Savannah/Brunswick, and in Athens at the University of Georgia. The Athens campus is the University of Georgia's Health Science Campus where 40 of the school's 230 students obtain full, four-year training as part of a partnership with the University of Georgia.
