Augusta University Health is an academic health center that manages the clinical operations associated with Augusta University. It is a health care network that offers primary, specialty and sub-specialty care in the Augusta, Georgia area and throughout the Southeastern United States.

Augusta University (AU) is a public research university and academic medical center in Augusta, Georgia. It is a part of the University System of Georgia and has satellite medical campuses in Savannah, Albany, Rome, and Athens. It employs over 15,000 people, has more than 56,000 alumni, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Augusta University Health System includes the 478-bed Augusta University Medical Center, the 154-bed Children's Hospital of Georgia, and more than 80 outpatient clinics.

The Medical District of Augusta, Georgia, is a special-use zoning district located between downtown and Summerville. The district is bounded to the north by Walton Way, to the east by R.A. Dent Boulevard, to the west by Heard Avenue, and to the south by Wrightsboro Road. The district comprises a number of medical facilities and private medical companies.

Paine College is a private, historically black Methodist college in Augusta, Georgia. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Paine College offers undergraduate degrees in the liberal arts, business administration, and education through residential, commuter, and off-site programs. The college is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS).

The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy is a college within the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens, Georgia, United States.

Piedmont Augusta, formerly University Hospital, is a non-profit private hospital located in downtown Augusta, Georgia. In addition to its main hospital campus, Piedmont Augusta has outpatient medical offices and imaging centers servicing the surrounding 25-county region comprising the CSRA (Georgia and South Carolina). Piedmont Augusta includes a wide variety of prompt care, primary care and specialty physicians such as Endocrinology, Neuroscience, Heart and Vascular, Rheumatology and Gastroenterology. One of the newest additions to the health system is a 25-bed medical center located in McDuffie County. In 2021, it was announced that Piedmont Healthcare was going to take over University Hospital, and the hospital officially became Piedmont Augusta on March 1, 2022.

Lucy C. Laney Comprehensive High School (Laney High School) is a public high school in the Laney-Walker district of Augusta, Georgia, United States. It was formed in 1949 by combining the A. R. Johnson and Haines Normal and Industrial Institute. From the merger, Laney derived the mascot the "Wildcat," and the school colors of red and grey. In the summer of 1951, the old building was torn down on the Haines site and the new building was started. During the construction, classes were held at another site. In September 1953, Lucy Laney High School moved into its new building with, Dr. C.W. Johnson as principal. In 1964, the music building was added with spacious new choral and band rooms. In 1981, renovations were made to the building to update the library facilities and the main offices. Air conditioning was installed. During the 1996–97 school year, work started on a renovation for school improvements costing approximately seven million dollars. This added ten new classrooms, a technology lab, a new media center, an expansion of the gym with a concession area, and new restrooms and new furnishings. The new facilities were completed during the 1997–98 school year. In the fall of 2007, a new 12 million dollar athletic complex was opened which included a 9000-seat football stadium. The school had previously been without a home field for over 30 years. In 2014, Laney High School began another major renovation project. Students attended the nearby Tubman Education Center while the school was given a complete 23 million dollar overhaul. The new facility opened in the fall of 2016 and includes 23 new classrooms, a fine arts building, cosmetology lab, a mock courtroom for the law and justice program, rifle range for the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, upgraded cafeteria with outdoor seating for seniors, and a new gymnasium. Laney High School now offers two magnet programs open to all students of Richmond County. The Academy for Advanced Placement Studies enables students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school by offering numerous AP courses. Beginning in the fall of 2017, the Early College Academy will admit qualified students to take accelerated courses in grades 9 and 10 and then enroll full-time at Augusta University during grades 11 and 12. Female literacy rate of graduates is 63%, whereas male literacy rate of graduates is 42%. This is comparatively high for a high school in a deprived area.

Charles Thomas Walker Traditional Magnet School (C.T. Walker) is a public examination school located in the Laney-Walker district of Augusta, Georgia, United States. It draws students from kindergarten through eighth grade from all parts of the Richmond County School System. It is one of four magnet schools in Richmond County.

Augustus R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet Middle and High School is a public seven-year magnet school in downtown Augusta, Georgia, United States, drawing students from grades six through twelve from all parts of Richmond County.

Tubman High School is a historic high school building in Augusta, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1994. It is located at 1740 Walton Way. It was named for Augusta philanthropist Emily Harvie Thomas Tubman and was founded as Neely's Institute in 1874. A new Tubman High School building was funded by a bond issue and constructed in 1917 according to designs by G. Lloyd Preacher. The three-story brick building's design is considered Beaux Arts architecture and includes terra cotta. It was the area's only public high school for girls until the 1950s.It became a co-educational junior high school in 1951 and is now a middle school.

The Butt Memorial Bridge is a road bridge in Augusta, Georgia that carries 15th Street over the Augusta Canal. It is dedicated to Major Archibald Willingham Butt, born in Augusta and a victim of the sinking of RMS Titanic. The bridge was erected in 1914 and dedicated by President William Howard Taft, a personal friend of Butt's. It is notable that the bridge was the first memorial erected to remember the Titanic disaster, and it stands today as the only memorial in Georgia dedicated to the disaster. The bridge is made of stone, featuring four pillars topped with bronze-banded globes placed over electric lights. Four lions with plaques adorn each side and end of the bridge, while lights are strung from one end of the bridge to the other. A memorial plaque is located on the center of the bridge, dedicated to Butt's memory. The bridge was designed by William Henry Deacy, architect and Nisbet Wingfield, civil engineer. The bridge was fabricated by W. W. Leland Company.

Meadow Garden is a historic house museum at 1320 Independence Drive in Augusta, Georgia. It was a home of Founding Father George Walton (1749–1804), one of Georgia's three signers of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Walton was later elected governor of Georgia and also served as a United States senator. Meadow Garden was saved by the Daughters of the American Revolution, who established it as a museum in 1901. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1981.
