Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) (Ukrainian: Харківський національний університет радіоелектроніки) is a higher education institution of the highest level of accreditation in Ukraine. It is one of the oldest technology universities in Ukraine, with over 7000 students and 30 scientific centers. It has strong research and education capabilities in electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, ICT and computer technologies. NURE hosts the International Academy of Applied Radio & Electronics. NURE pioneered the development of distance education in Ukraine. Kharkiv National Medical University (Ukrainian: Харківський національний медичний університет), formerly known as Kharkiv Medical Institute and previously Kharkiv State Medical University, is a medical university in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In March 2022 many buildings were heavily damaged due to the Russian invasion into Ukraine.Over 700 teachers work at the departments of the university. Staff capacity is 5 corresponding members NAMN Ukraine, 17 Honoured Scientist of Ukraine, 2 Honored high school Ukraine, 13 distinguished doctors of Ukraine, 8 winners of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Engineering, 28 academicians of the public academies of Ukraine, 28 employees - Member of International Medical Associations;. Since 1951, the University has been training medical personnel for countries of the Eastern Europe, China and Mongolia, and since 1961 it has been training students from other countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. At present, there are about 3400 foreign students in the Kharkiv National Medical University who study at the Preparatory Department, Medical, Nursing and Dental Faculties, undergo postgraduate and clinical post-graduate (residency) courses as well as professional probation at departments of the University in Dental, therapy, orthopedics, surgery, oncology, urology, psychiatry, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as other medical specialties. The University has trained over 5000 specialists for 86 states of Europe, Asia, Latin America, Middle East countries. Among them there are 3 Doctors and 70 Candidates of Medical Science, about 200 clinical post-graduates (residents).

Shevchenkivskyi District (Ukrainian: Шевченківський район) is an urban district of the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, named after the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.The district was created in 1932 out of parts of Ivano-Lysohirskyi and Petynsko-Zhuravlivskyi districts. It was named as Dzerzhynskyi after the communist mass murder Felix Dzerzhinsky, head of Cheka (All-Russian Extraordinary Commission). It was renamed to its current name in February 2016 to comply with decommunization laws.

The Derzhprom (Ukrainian: Держпром) or Gosprom (Russian: Госпром) building is a constructivist structure in Freedom Square, Kharkiv, Ukraine. Its name is an abbreviation of two words that, taken together, mean State Industry. In English the structure is known as the State Industry Building or the Palace of Industry. It was built during the Soviet era in 1928. It is the first Soviet 13-story skyscraper.Derzhprom takes its place as a unique phenomenon of world architecture among the various structures that represent the modernist architecture of the first half of the 20th century, which are already on the UNESCO World Heritage List or the Tentative List.

Kharkiv University History Museum is one of the first history museums created at a higher educational institution in Ukraine. It is located on the second floor of the main building of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Slovo Building (Ukrainian: Будинок «Слово») is a residential multi-story building located in the Shevchenkivskyi District of Kharkiv. The shape of the building reflects the letter C in the Ukrainian word слово ("slovo") which means "word". Therefore, the shape of the building symbolized that it was constructed specially for prominent Ukrainian writers, who lived there in a total of 66 apartments. Built in the late 1920s, it housed many Ukrainian writers and poets, some of whom, known as the Executed Renaissance, were later executed by the Soviet Union in Sandarmokh.

Derzhprom (Ukrainian: Держпром, (listen)) is a station on Kharkiv Metro's Oleksiivska Line. The station opened on 6 May 1995.

The Statue of Lenin in Kharkiv was a sculpture monument to Vladimir Lenin, located in the Freedom Square, Kharkiv, Ukraine. It was the largest monument to Lenin in Ukraine. Designed by Alexander Sidorenko which held on an open competition to build the monument in 1963, in the lead up to the anniversary of the October Revolution. The monument ID was 63-101-0682.

Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture is a Ukrainian Academy of University level in Kharkiv.

Freedom Square (Ukrainian: Площа Свободи, romanized: Plóshcha Svobódy; Russian: Площадь Свободы, romanized: Plóshchad' Svobódy) in Kharkiv, Ukraine, is the 8th largest city-centre square in Europe. On 1 March 2022, during the battle of Kharkiv in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the square and the surroundings were hit by Russian missiles.

Botanichnyi Sad (Ukrainian: Ботанічний сад, (listen)) is a station on Kharkiv Metro's Oleksiivska Line. The station is one of two new stations added to the metro system on 21 August 2004, the other one being 23 Serpnia. The station is located under the Nauky avenue (formerly the Lenin avenue) in the northern part of Kharkiv's city center. The station's name and architectural design recalls the surrounding botanical garden of the Kharkiv University.
