Heuchelheim

Kleebach is a 27-kilometre-long (17 mi) left tributary of the Lahn river in central Hesse, Germany. It originates in the most Eastern part of the Hintertaunus mountains and from there it flows mostly in Northern direction towards the Lahn River. Along its course it flows through a string of small villages surrounded by small forests and fields.

The Wieseck is a river in Hesse, Germany. It is a left tributary (east) of the Lahn in the Vorderer Vogelsberg region. It rises in Saasen and after 24.3 kilometres, flows into the Lahn at Giessen, near the railway station. The Giessen suburb of Wieseck is named after the river.

Gießen railway station (German: Bahnhof Gießen) is the main railway station in Gießen, Hesse, Germany. The station is a Category 2 station is used by 20,000 passengers daily. The station was opened on 25 August 1850 and is located on the Main-Weser Railway (Kassel – Frankfurt (Main)) and Dill railway (Siegen – Gießen). The current station reception building was built between 1904 and 1911. The main original station building is a historic landmark and has been protected. Outside the station is a bus station and a taxi rank . Parking garages are located nearby.

The Mathematikum is a science museum, located in Gießen, Germany, which offers a huge variety of mathematical hands-on exhibits. It was founded by Albrecht Beutelspacher, a German mathematician. The Mathematikum opened its doors to visitors on 19 November 2002. It was inaugurated by the German president Johannes Rau. Since then, the museum has attracted more than 1,500,000 visitors. Annually the museum is visited by more than 150,000 people. The museum is opened every day of the week, including Sunday and Monday.

Giessen, spelled Gießen in German (German pronunciation: [ˈɡiːsn̩] (listen)), is a town in the German federated state (Bundesland) of Hesse, capital of both the district of Giessen and the administrative region of Giessen. The population is approximately 90,000, with roughly 37,000 university students. The name comes from Giezzen, as it was first referred to in 1197, which refers to the position of the town between several rivers, lakes and streams. The largest river in Giessen is the Lahn, which divides the town in two parts (west and east), roughly 50 kilometres (31 miles) north of Frankfurt am Main. Giessen is also home to the University of Giessen. In 1969, the town hosted the ninth Hessentag state festival.

Wettenberg is a municipality in the district of Gießen, in Hessen, Germany. It is situated 5 km northwest of Gießen.

Dutenhofen station (officially: Dutenhofen (Kr Wetzlar) or Dutenhofen (Wetzlar)) is a junction station in Dutenhofen, the eastmost borough of the city of Wetzlar in the German state of Hesse. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn (DB) as a category 6 station. It is much less important than Wetzlar station and is located in the north of the suburb of Dutenhofen, near the B 49. The station is located next to a level crossing over the road to Dutenhofener See. East of the station is a junction where the Dill line to Gießen separates from the freight line that bypasses Gießen, running to the junction at Bergwald on the Main-Weser Railway. Since 1962, signalling at the station has been controlled by a small relay interlocking, which is housed in the front of the entrance building.

University of Giessen, official name Justus Liebig University Giessen (German: Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen), is a large public research university in Giessen, Hesse, Germany. It is named after its most famous faculty member, Justus von Liebig, the founder of modern agricultural chemistry and inventor of artificial fertiliser. It covers the areas of arts/humanities, business, dentistry, economics, law, medicine, science, social sciences, and veterinary medicine. Its university hospital, which has two sites, Giessen and Marburg (the latter of which is the teaching hospital of the University of Marburg), is the only private university hospital in Germany.
