Newgate School is a post-secondary non-profit automotive technical school providing tuition-free automotive technical training and career placement support for underserved young adults in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. It offers professional automotive technical certification in both Auto Body repair and Auto Mechanics. Graduates are qualified to work as career apprentices in the auto services industry. Newgate’s practical, hands-on approach to teaching technical skills is highly successful with students who struggle in traditional educational settings or for whom English is a second language. In 1981, Newgate pioneered the concept of using the sales of car donations as the single funding source for the school, thereby eliminating the dependence on tax-based government funding for support. Newgate began its Wheels for Women Program in 1996. Donated cars are repaired by the students and provided at no cost to single moms who qualify for the program. Newgate provides approximately 35 cars per year through the Wheels program. In 2004, with bonds financed by the City of Minneapolis, the school constructed a new modern training facility and expanded its Auto Mechanics Training program.

Les Bolstad Golf Course is a golf course owned by the University of Minnesota. The course is located in Falcon Heights, Minnesota on the "St. Paul" campus of the University. The school's cross country teams use it to hold meets, including the Roy Griak Invitational.The school's golf teams now hold matches off campus in Blaine, Minnesota at the TPC Twin Cities (Tournament Players Club of the Twin Cities).

University Grove is a neighborhood of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, known for its 103 homes individually designed by architects. Owners have been required to use an architect since the neighborhood's creation by the University of Minnesota in 1928 to recruit and retain faculty; there is also a cap on costs, ensuring that homes would be of similar size.: 205  To balance the individuality of professors/administrators while keeping the properties in the intended group of buyers, each faculty/staff person owns the homes while the university owns the land upon which the home is situated and the faculty/staff person pays rent annually for that land use. The university retains title to the land.The neighborhood is now especially known for a large collection of homes built in the modern style. The New York Times called University Grove a “living time capsule of vernacular modern architecture in America”. The original landscape plan is by Morel and Nichols. The Grove boasts excellent examples of residential architecture from architects such as Ralph Rapson, Winston and Elizabeth Close, Edwin Hugh Lundie, and Richard Hammel.: 209 The neighborhood continues to mostly house the university community.

Luther Seminary is a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It is the largest seminary of the ELCA. It also accepts and educates students of 41 other denominations and traditions. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the Association of Theological Schools. It also has theological accreditation through the ELCA as well as the United Methodist Church.

KBEM-FM (88.5 FM, "Jazz88") is a Minneapolis, Minnesota public radio station broadcasting a jazz format. The station is operated by the Minneapolis public school system and has been partnering since 1989 with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT), providing traffic congestion reports for commuters in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. KBEM also broadcasts live headliner performances from the Twin Cities Jazz Festival each June. KBEM is a member of Minnesota's AMPERS network. KBEM's studios are located on James Avenue North in Minneapolis, while its transmitter is located in Falcon Heights.

KUOM (770 AM) – branded Radio K – is a daytime-only non-commercial educational college/alternative rock radio station licensed to serve Minneapolis, Minnesota. KUOM covers the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, and extends its reach with two low-power broadcast relay stations and one full-power repeater. Owned by the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, the station is operated by both faculty and students. The KUOM studios are located at the Rarig Center on the University of Minnesota campus, while the station transmitter is in Falcon Heights. Besides a standard analog transmission, KUOM is also available online. KUOM's AM signal operates with a non-directional antenna located on the St. Paul/Falcon Heights campus. Due to its 770 kHz frequency located low on the band combined with the region's flat terrain and excellent soil conductivity, the station's AM coverage is comparable to that of a full-power FM station, thus 770 can be heard throughout the Twin Cities area, with grade B coverage in St. Cloud and Mankato. However, the AM is licensed to operate during daylight hours only in order to protect WABC in New York at night. The hours of operation vary from month to month, reflecting local sunrise and sunset times, with the day's sign on and signoff changing from month to month; signoff, for example, ranges from 4:30 p.m. in winter to 9:00 p.m. in summer. KUOM's first broadcasting station license, as WLB, was granted on January 13, 1922. This was Minnesota's first broadcast station license, making KUOM one of the oldest radio stations in the United States. In addition, the university traces its radio activities back more than 100 years, starting with experimental work in 1912, followed by radiotelegraph broadcasts begun in 1920, and radiotelephone broadcasts of market reports inaugurated in February 1921, making KUOM one of the oldest surviving radio stations in North America.

Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium is located in Falcon Heights on the Saint Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. It is primarily used as the home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's soccer team. The stadium opened in 1999 and seats 1,000.The stadium is named after Elizabeth Lyle Robbie, who was the wife of Joe Robbie, former owner of the Miami Dolphins. The Robbie family was originally from South Dakota, but lived a number of years in Minneapolis. Elizabeth was the first female owner of a professional sports franchise in the United States, as she owned the Miami Toros / Minnesota Strikers soccer team in the 1970s and 1980s.Prior to Robbie Stadium, the school played home games from 1993 to 1998 at the St. Paul Campus Soccer Field, also located in Falcon Heights.

The Norway Lutheran Church or Old Muskego Church stands on the edge of the campus of Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The Gibbs Farm is a museum in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, United States. The site was once the farmstead of Heman Gibbs and Jane DeBow, first built in 1854; the existing farmhouse includes the small, original cabin. The museum seeks to educate visitors on the lives of 19th-century Minnesota pioneers and the Dakota people who lived in southern Minnesota before the arrival of Europeans. In 1974 the farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The listing consists of the farmhouse and barn, as the other museum structures are not original to the site.

Como is a neighborhood within the University community of Minneapolis. It is sometimes referred to as Southeast Como, due to many of its streets ending in SE, and possibly to differentiate it from the Como neighborhood in neighboring Saint Paul. Its boundaries are East Hennepin Avenue to the north, 33rd Avenue Southeast (the eastern city limit) to the east, the Southeast Industrial Area to the south, and Interstate 35W to the west. Como features many amenities for its residents: Van Cleve Park Community Center, the Como Student Community Co-op, the University Childcare Center, Dar Al-Farooq mosque, SE Christian Church, and the Como Congregational Church building (designed in 1886 by Charles Sedgwick). The #3 busline is convenient to all who live in Como and provides easy transportation to Downtown Minneapolis, all of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campuses, and Downtown St. Paul. The high-traffic business roads, industrial zones, and active railroads that surround Como contrast sharply with the residential character of the core Como neighborhood. The housing stock consists of modest early 20th-century bungalows and Victorian and twenties-era homes mixed with a scattering of newer duplexes and single family homes. Some areas (e.g. along Como, 15th and Hennepin Avenues) have post-60's two-story walk-up apartment buildings.Commercial activity is focused on Como and East Hennepin Avenues. The neighborhood is served by a services business hub along Como Avenue with grocery stores, dentist, barber shop, coffee houses, restaurants, and auto service station.
