Goldegg, also called Goldegg im Pongau, is a municipality in St. Johann im Pongau District, in the state of Salzburg in Austria.

Embach (part of the municipality of Lend) is an Austrian mountain village in Zell am See District of Salzburg, Austria. It is situated on a plateau high above the Salzachtal valley at an altitude of 1,013m. with a combined population of approximately 1,500 people.

Sankt Veit im Pongau is a market town in the St. Johann im Pongau district in the Austrian state of Salzburg. St.Veit is the first healthy climate spa town in Salzburg. Submontane to the "Hochglocker" there is the 1912 founded sanatorium. Author Thomas Bernhard was treated in there and he also wrote a book about his residence at the clinic.

Hinterthal (1,000 metres or 3,281 feet above sea level) is found approximately 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) to the east of Saalfelden and some 60 minutes southwest of the city of Salzburg, Austria. It is at the foot of the High King Mountain (Hochkönig) as part of Maria Alm, in the Austrian state of Salzburg. Hinterthal is situated at the end of the valley and as a result, is a quiet and peaceful place to visit. Mainly known as a winter ski resort and a summer hiking area, Hinterthal has close views of the High King Mountain Hochkönig and Sleeping Virgin Mountains. This was one of the first places non-Austrian people could buy homes in Austria, and consequently, it is home to many rich and famous people. There are several hotels in Hinterthal: Hotel Urslauerhof, Hotel Steinbock, Hotel Almhof, Hotel Jagdgut Wachtelhof and Balthasar's. Recently there has been a luxury development of several chalets and luxury apartments situated around Florysee, the lake in Hinterthal. Many of these are available for rent. For skiing Hinterthal has three ski lifts leaving the village, accessing over 150 kilometres (90 mi) of skiing, plus its own nursery slope and its own ski school, making it a good place to go for beginners. Hinterthal also has an impressive snow record due to its micro climate and the ski season usually starts in late November and lasts until mid April. Hinterthal is also part of the High King Mountain Ski Area.

Liechtensteinklamm (Liechtenstein Gorge) is a particularly narrow gorge with walls up to 300m high, located in the Austrian Alps 50 km south of Salzburg. It is around 4 km long and named after Johann II of Liechtenstein who had the walkways installed in 1875. The gorge is around 4 km in length of which 1 km is accessible to visitors by means of wooden walkways (closed in winter months). It has a depth of up to 300m and in some places is only a few meters wide. At the end of the gorge is a waterfall. It receives around 100,000 visitors a year. The waters of the Großarler Ache, a mountain stream, formed the gorge over thousands of years. In 1875 work began by members of the Pongau Alpine Club to make the gorge accessible, however was unfinished due to a lack of funds. Prince Johann II. of Liechtenstein, who ran a hunting lodge in the nearby Großarl, donated 600 guilders for an expansion of the work. At the completion of work in 1876 the gorge was renamed to honour the generous donation from the Prince. According to legend, the gorge was created when the devil full of anger and rage over a failed plan, flew across the canyon throwing water into it with such force as to carve the rock.

The Hundstein, also High Hundstein, is a 2,117m mountain in Zell am See, in the Pinzgau region of Austria. It is the highest peak of the Salzburg Slate Alps and belongs to the subgroup of the Dienten Mountains. The mountain is located east of Lake Zell and opposite the end of the Fusch Valley and the Großglockner High Alpine Road in the Salzach Valley. As a group, the Hundstein, along with its neighbouring peaks Hochkasern (2,017m), Schwalbenwand (2,011m) and Gschwandtnerberg (1,612m), occupy the entire eastern half of the Dienten mountains. The main Summit itself forms the municipal boundary of Maria Alm, Zell am See, Bruck and Taxenbach. Both the mountain, with its summit panorama of the surrounding mountains, as well as the Hundsteinsee lake (1,891 m) are very popular destinations for hiking and mountain biking in the summer. In winter, the mountain is a skiing area.

Alpendorf (German for alpine village) is a village and a part of the town St. Johann im Pongau. It is 55 km (34 mi) south of the Austrian city of Salzburg. It is at an altitude of 850 m (2,790 ft) above sea level. It is 3 km (1.9 mi) away from the town centre of Sankt Johann im Pongau, a large town dominated by the Cathedral of Pongau. The economy is largely dependent on tourism, particularly during the winter months when thousands of predominantly German, Danish and Dutch skiers visiting the village. The resort is popular with members of the British and American forces based in Germany. There are also a significant number of English and Welsh schools visiting the area.

Grossarl (Großarl) is a market town in the St. Johann im Pongau district in the state of Salzburg in western central Austria. The valley Grossarltal got its name from Grossarl.
