Highlands High School (Fort Thomas, Kentucky)

Fort Thomas is a home rule-class city in Campbell County, Kentucky, United States, on the southern bank of the Ohio River and the site of an 1890 US Army post. The population was 17,483 at the 2020 census, making it the largest city in Campbell County. It is part of the Cincinnati – Northern Kentucky metropolitan area.

The Little Miami River (Shawnee: Cakimiyamithiipi) is a Class I tributary of the Ohio River that flows 111 miles (179 km) through five counties in southwestern Ohio in the United States. The Little Miami joins the Ohio River east of Cincinnati. It forms parts of the borders between Hamilton and Clermont counties and between Hamilton and Warren counties. The Little Miami River is one of 156 American rivers designated by the U.S. Congress or the Secretary of the Interior as a National Wild and Scenic River and lends its name to the adjacent Little Miami Scenic Trail.

East End is one of the 52 neighborhoods of Cincinnati, Ohio. The neighborhood, a 7-mile (11 km) strip along the Ohio River, once held Cincinnati's manufacturing district. It is the location of the Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Airport and Columbia Parkway. The population was 1,476 at the 2020 census.

In the early morning hours of March 26, 2017, a shootout occurred at the Cameo nightclub in southeastern Cincinnati, Ohio. One person was killed and 16 others were injured. Two suspects were arrested on March 30, though police continued to search for more people involved. One of the suspects, who was among those injured, later died of his injuries on April 4.

Woodlawn is a home rule-class city in Campbell County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 229 at the 2010 census.

The Beverly Hills Supper Club fire in Southgate, Kentucky, is the seventh deadliest nightclub fire in history. It occurred on the night of May 28, 1977, during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. A total of 165 people died and more than 200 were injured as a result of the blaze.

Evergreen Cemetery (Southgate, Kentucky) is the largest cemetery in Campbell County, Kentucky. It is still in operation and is located at 25 Alexandria Pike in Southgate, Kentucky. The Cemetery was begun in the 1840s, to replace the Newport, Cemetery. The cemetery was located a few miles south of Newport, in a rural area, which is now the City of Southgate, Kentucky. A defensive earthwork named Shaler Battery, built as part of the Defense of Cincinnati, remains preserved within the cemetery and is located adjacent to the cemetery bandstand. It was one of the 28 artillery batteries that were built on northern Kentucky hilltops from 1861 to 1863. A residence for the sexton of the cemetery was constructed in 1872. Seven years later, in 1879, the name of the cemetery was officially acknowledged as Evergreen. By 1902, a chapel had been constructed on the cemetery grounds and was used for funeral services and layouts.The cemetery was used as the cemetery in the 1988 film Rain Man.Today, the cemetery contains 250 acres (1.0 km2) and accepts burials from throughout the region.

Fulton-Presbyterian Cemetery is a registered historic site in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. It was listed in the National Register on August 24, 1979.

William Brown (1759–1808) was a soldier for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was born in Stamford and enlisted in the 5th Connecticut Regiment as a corporal on 23 May 1775, and re-enlisted as a private on 9 April 1777, for the duration of the war in the 8th Connecticut Regiment. He was promoted to corporal on 8 May 1779, and to sergeant on 1 August 1780, transferring with the consolidation of units to the 5th Connecticut Regiment on 1 January 1781, and to the 2nd Connecticut Regiment on 1 January 1783. He was awarded the Badge of Military Merit, one of only three people to be awarded the medal that later became the Purple Heart. No record of his citation has been uncovered, but it is believed that he participated in the assault on Redoubt No. 10 during the siege of Yorktown. After the war he moved west to a newly developed river town called Cincinnati, Ohio. When President George Washington sent General Anthony Wayne out to Cincinnati in the spring of 1793 to take charge of subduing the Indians, one of Wayne's first acts was to call upon William Brown to furnish him with a "company of spies". It is possible that Brown joined the General at the Battle of Fallen Timbers. He lived out his days in Cincinnati, his original tombstone was lost to time; possibly stolen or destroyed. On 24 July 2004, at a cemetery across the street from what is known as Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Airport, a new tombstone was laid out in remembrance to Sgt. William Brown.

Shaler Battery was a hilltop earthwork fortification built during the American Civil War in Northern Kentucky by the Union Army to turn back invading Confederate troops. It was constructed to protect Cincinnati and the Ohio River valley. The location of this battery's powder magazine is marked by a bandstand in Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Kentucky. Shaler Battery was one of the 28 artillery batteries that were built on northern Kentucky hilltops from 1861 to 1863 for the Defense of Cincinnati. It was originally a small earthwork fortification on the point of a hill, ringed by rifle pit entrenchments. This smaller battery was removed following the construction of a larger earthwork approximately 50 feet behind (north). This portion of the earthwork remains, as well as part of the earthen ramp and small drainage ditches. The surrounding area is covered with graves and the rifle pits were filled in to form a road which is now paved. The battery was named for Dr. Nathaniel Burger Shaler, a prominent Newport, Kentucky physician, who offered his family's hilltop vineyard (which was adjacent to the cemetery and would eventually be purchased from the family estate as an addition to Evergreen) as a site for the battery.

The Doyle Country Club (aka Doyle's Country Club or simply the Doyle Club, formerly Clark's Grove) is a historic, privately owned country club located on Mary Ingles Highway in Dayton, Kentucky, a rural area of Campbell County, Kentucky. Located on a beachfront property on the shore of the Ohio River, it is the last surviving river camp community along the Ohio River Valley.The club was incorporated in Dayton, Kentucky in 1919, but had already been active for several years. During a January 1913 flood of the Ohio River, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported all of the cottages erected by the Club under water, and following the Great Dayton Flood the same year, "five or six cottages were swept off their foundations". The Kentucky Historic Preservation Review Board under the Kentucky Heritage Council advanced the nomination of the Doyle Country Club to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016, and Doyle's was added to the National Register of Historic Places in March 2017.
