St Joseph's Māori Girls' College or Hato Hōhepa is a Catholic, integrated, boarding and day college in Taradale, New Zealand, for girls in Year 7 to Year 13. It is the largest Māori girls' boarding secondary school in New Zealand.

Taradale High School is a co-educational secondary school situated in Taradale, a suburb of Napier in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand. It caters for years 9–13. The school has an attendance roll of approximately 1036 students (ranging over the five years of age) as of November 2021.

Greenmeadows is a suburb of the city of Napier, in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand's eastern North Island. It is part of the Taradale ward of Napier and was part of the earlier Taradale Borough. Anderson Park, used from 1886 to 1960 by the Napier Park Racing Club, is now a passive recreation park.

Pettigrew Green Arena is a multi-purpose indoor sports and entertainment centre in Taradale, a suburb of Napier in New Zealand, that opened in April 2003. It regularly hosts volleyball, basketball and netball matches for Hawke's Bay representative teams. The main court has a capacity of 2,500. It is owned by the Regional Indoor Sports and Events Centre Trust. The arena is home to the Hawke's Bay Hawks basketball team. It hosted an ANZ Championship netball match for the Central Pulse against the Adelaide Thunderbirds in Round 14 of the 2008 season.

The Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) is a government owned tertiary education institution with three campuses: Hawke’s Bay, Auckland, and Gisborne, New Zealand. It is also referred to as EIT Hawke's Bay, EIT Tairāwhiti, and EIT Auckland. EIT serves as the main regional higher education centre for the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne regions. It has two faculties. The Faculty of Educations, Humanities, and Health Science includes Te Ūranga Waka – Te Whatukura, Toihoukura, Education and Social Sciences, Health and Sport Science and Nursing schools, and an Ideaschool. The Faculty of Commerce and Technology includes Tourism and Hospitality, English Language Centre, Trades and Technology, Business, Computing and Applied Science schools.The Eastern Institute of Technology has a 28-hectare (69-acre) main campus in Taradale, a suburb in Napier. It is situated between the twin cities of Napier and Hastings, (approximately 9 km (5.6 mi) from Napier, and 11 km from Hastings), which together comprise the fifth largest urban area in New Zealand. There are also additional campuses in Tairāwhiti and Auckland on Queen Street. EIT also has learning centres in Hastings, Waipukurau, Ruatoria, Tokomaru Bay, Wairoa and a centre in Maraenui, a suburb of the city of Napier.

Park Island is the largest sports complex in Napier, New Zealand. It hosts clubs and facilities for association football (soccer), cricket, hockey, netball and rugby union. It includes Bluewater Stadium, a multi-purpose stadium that has a capacity of 5,000 people and opened in 1985. The stadium is used mostly for soccer matches and is the home stadium of Napier City Rovers and Hawke's Bay United. It also served as a training venue for teams in the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Tamatea High School is a state secondary co-educational school located in Napier, New Zealand. The school was opened in 1975. Robin Fabish has been the principal since 2015. He was previously Deputy Principal at Te Aute College and Head of Māori at Napier Boys' High School. Since Matua Robin started the school roll has consolidated and is currently 310 boys and girls. The school has a reputation for being a whānau (family) community. Being smaller than others in the city means that individual student needs can be catered for and there is less chance of anyone falling through the cracks. The classes are typically around 20-25 students and smaller in the senior school. The school population is 55% Māori, 38% Pākehā with the rest of the students being Pasifika and Asian. Tamatea High School is committed to giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. This means that the school is working to ensure that mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge) has parity with Western knowledge. The curriculum has a strong focus on te reo Māori (Māori language), tikanga Māori (Māori culture), local Māori histories, waiata and haka. Building a strong cultural identity is important for all students but especially Māori and Pasifika students is a foundation for academic success. The school sees this as an essential element of being a good treaty partner. The teaching fraternity at Tamatea High school is very close. The collegiality is a real positive for teachers in the school. They focus on building strong relationships with their students and often go the extra distance to support student success. Students have a strong voice in the school which means they influence everything from the learning programmes to uniform changes to property programmes. The whānau of students are included in the goal setting process and tracking of progress. Three times a year whānau are invited to half hour conferences with our Whānau Group Teachers. In these conferences students lead the conversation about their learning progress and next steps. Regular communication with families is encouraged. The school has three overarching goals: 1. All school leavers have meaningful pathways. 2. Accelerating the literacy and numeracy of junior students. 3. Improving engagement in classrooms. Typical student pathways include university, further training through the programmes at the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) or direct entry to employment. Student learning programmes are informed by their school leaver goals.

Pirimai is a suburb of the city of Napier, in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand's eastern North Island.It includes Pirimai Park and playground.

Waiohiki is a rural community in the Hastings District and Hawke's Bay Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located between the Ngaruroro and Tutaekuri Rivers, south of Taradale and north of Hastings on State Highway 50. Napier Golf Club is located at Waiohiki. Waiohiki was inundated by flooding during Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023 after the Ngaruroro River burst its banks. Dozen of houses were destroyed. One person died after being swept away by floodwater at Waiohiki.

Meeanee is a locality south of the city of Napier, in the Hawke's Bay Region on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. It was named after the Battle of Meeanee in India (now spelled Miani, but the area has retained the older spelling), won by Sir Charles Napier, the city's namesake. Along with such locations as Clive and Havelock North, it is one of several places within Hawke's Bay to be named after events or people in Colonial India.
