Obdam

Obdam is a railway station in Obdam, Netherlands. The station opened in 1898, on the Hoorn - Heerhugowaard line. There are two tracks at this station, creating a passing loop on the otherwise single-track railway.

Berkmeer is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 5 km east of Heerhugowaard. The hamlet was first mentioned around 1631 as De Berck meer, and refers to the lake which was poldered in 1636. The name means "birch lake". Berkmeer does not have place name signs. On 28 January 1256, William II of Holland fell through the ice at Berkmeer and was killed by the locals. Berkmeer was home to 141 people in 1840.The polder mill Berkmeermolen was built around 1608. In 1877, a pumping station was installed next to the wind mill and it was decommissioned in 1925. In 1941, it returned to active service and operated until 1990. The wind mill nowadays functions on a voluntary basis.

Veenhuizen (West Frisian: Fenenhúze) is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located in the former municipality of Heerhugowaard, about 6 km northeast of Heerhugowaard itself. Veenhuizen was a separate municipality from 1817 to 1854, when it was merged with Heerhugowaard.It is not a statistical entity. and the postal authorities have placed it under Heerhugowaard. It consists of about 160 houses.Since 2022 it has been part of the new municipality of Dijk en Waard.

The village was first mentioned in 1573 as Rustenburch, and means "quiet castle". It may have been a name of an inn. Rustenburg was home to 167 people in 1840. There are three wind mills in Rustenburg.

Zandwerven (West Frisian: Sandwerfen) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Opmeer, and lies about 8 km east of Heerhugowaard. The hamlet was first mentioned in 1653 as "op Sandwerven", and means "terp (artificial living hill) on the sand". Zandwerven is the site of a Neolithic settlement, and artefacts have been recovered from 1,700 Before Christ.Zandwerven has place name signs. It was home to 108 people in 1840.

Spierdijk is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) east of Alkmaar.The village was first mentioned in 1365 as Spierdijck, and is a combination a long reed stick and dike. Spierdijk developed on the edge of the Wogmeer as a peat excavation village.The Catholic St Georgius Church is a three aisled cruciform church with needle spire which was built between 1849 and 1850.
