De Gouden Kooi (The Golden Cage) is a Dutch reality competition that premiered in 2006 on Tien. The series was based on an early iteration of what would eventually become Endemol's format Big Brother.

The average home in Blaricum costs €800,000 and had risen an average of 12% from the previous year.Blaricum is a popular residence of many Dutch celebrities, including Rene Froger, Anita Meijer, Paul de Leeuw, Dennis Bergkamp, Gordon, Jerney Kaagman, John de Mol, Anita Witzier and Marco Borsato.

Auberge Postillion de la Provence (popular: La Provence or Auberge La Provence) is a defunct restaurant in Laren, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1974 and retained that rating until 1989.Head chef in the Michelin period was Han de Wijs.The restaurant was founded in the 1960s by Martin Fagel. In 1969, he sold the restaurant to Han de Wijs. In 1989, De Wijs sold the restaurant to Stage Door B.V., who went bankrupt in 1995. In July 1995, shortly after the bankruptcy, the restaurant burnt down.In December 1989 the restaurant was hit by fire the first time. Main victims that time were the administration and the thatched roof.Nowadays, restaurant La Place is located on the site.

Huizen (pronounced [ˈɦœʏzə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality and a village in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. The name "Huizen" is Dutch for "houses" and this usage has been linked to the belief that the first stone houses, instead of the more common sod houses at the time, in the region appeared here. Huizen is part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam.

The Eurovision Song Contest 1958 was the third edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Hilversum, Netherlands, following the country's victory at the 1957 contest with the song "Net als toen" by Corry Brokken. This formed the convention that the winning country of the previous year's event would host the following year. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Nederlandse Televisie Stichting (NTS), the contest was held at the AVRO Studios on Wednesday 12 March 1958 and was hosted by Dutch television presenter Hannie Lips. Ten countries participated in the contest, equalling the number in the previous edition. Sweden, a country that would go on to be one of the most successful countries in the contest made its debut this year, while the United Kingdom decided not to participate. The winner was France with the song "Dors, mon amour", performed by André Claveau, written by Pierre Delanoë and composed by Hubert Giraud. This was France's first of five victories in the contest. At 46 years and 76 days of age, Claveau would remain the oldest winner until 1990.

The Harscamp villa is a municipal monument on the Ringlaan in the Dutch town of Baarn in de province Utrecht. The villa is in the Wilhelminapark, a villa neighborhood which is part of a Rijksmonument. The house was built in 1912 by shipping magnate L.P.D. Op ten Noort, co-founder of the Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatschappij. The slate-covered roof has a lantern on top, with a sailing vessel for a weather vane. The building's stained glass windows have sailing as a common motif. The symmetric front facade has a central porch with a curved roof. It had structures added on either side; a loggia on the right, and a sunroom on the left. Behind the building was a geometric garden. Since 1938 the Harscamp is owned by the Salvation Army; for a long time it was in use as a children's home. In 2000, the building was renovated to become a home for unhoused people. A report from the town of Baarn from 2015 noted that the building had served drug addicts but had recently been closed; preparations were underway to make it an assisted living facility.
