PlusCity is a shopping centre in Pasching in Upper Austria. It is located southwest of Linz and opened in October 1989.It has a total retail floor area of approximately 70,000 square meters on two main floors, which makes it the fifth largest mall in Austria. It houses about 200 stores and offers employment for 2,100 people.There are 4,200 parking spaces. Customer frequency is approximately 20,000 per day.

Leonding (German pronunciation: [ˈleːɔ̯nd̥iŋ] ) is a city southwest of Linz in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It borders Puchenau and the river Danube in the north, Wilhering and Pasching in the west, Traun in the south and Linz in the east. With a population of more than 27 thousand people, Leonding is the most populous city of the Linz-Land district and the fourth most populous city in Upper Austria. It is very close to Linz and offers views of the Alps and therefore attracts the upper social classes for living without providing much infrastructure on its own. Due to the proximity of Linz and transport connections (like West railway, Westautobahn, B1 Wiener Straße or Linz Airport) it attracts companies like Rosenbauer, Ebner Industrieofenbau, Poloplast or Neuson. Other major employers are the UNO Shopping Center (approximately 850 jobs) as well as the Plus City Shopping Center (approximately 2200 jobs). From 1898 to 1905 Adolf Hitler lived in Leonding where he attended the local primary school and later a grammar school in nearby Linz. The graves of his parents Alois and Klara are in Leonding. His brother Edmund, who died of measles, was buried there too. A delegation of Passau National Socialists visited the family's grave illegally. Hitler visited the grave in 1938. In 2012, when a relative of Alois Hitler's first wife, Anna, did not renew the lease, the grave was dissolved.In 1903, Hitler's father died when drinking a glass of wine in a guesthouse in Leonding.Leonding is split up into 22 localities: Aichberg, Alharting, Berg, Bergham, Buchberg, Doppl, Enzenwinkl, Felling, Friesenegg, Gaumberg, Haag, Hart, Holzheim, Imberg, Jetzing, Leonding, Reith, Rufling, St. Isidor, Staudach, Untergaumberg and Zaubertal.

The Waldstadion (German pronunciation: [ˈvaltˌʃtaːdi̯ɔn] ), currently known as voestalpine Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is a multi-use stadium in Pasching, Austria. It is used for football matches and is the home ground of FC Juniors OÖ. Austrian Bundesliga club LASK Linz used the stadium until their new stadium was completed in 2023. The stadium holds 7,870 and was built in 1990. In 2016, LASK purchased the VIP tent from SV Grödig and installed it in the stadium. In February 2017, the stadium was refurbished, with a new away sector and extra home seating, this was required for the stadium to reach Austrian Bundesliga standards.TGW Logistics Group announced the stadium sponsorship in 2017. The company has operations in Europe, North America and Asia. Headquarters are in Wels, Austria. In 2011, it hosted the finals of the Fistball World Championship, in which the German team beat the local Austria by a score of 4-2. In mid-July 2019, Raiffeisen acquired the naming rights until LASK move out in 2022.

Traun (Austrian German: [traʊn] ) is an Austrian municipality located on the north bank of the river Traun and borders Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, to the east. The name Traun is derived from the Celtic word for river (dru). Traun is the fifth largest town in Upper Austria, located in the district of Linz-Land.

Pasching is a municipality in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It is situated a few miles southwest of Linz and borders Leonding, Hörsching, Wilhering and Traun. Situated along the famous shopping mile the Kremstal Straße, it is the home of many retailers. One of the biggest shopping centers in Austria, the Plus City is located in Pasching. Due to the vicinity of Linz many smaller industries have settled down here too. A major problem in Pasching is the heavy traffic along the Kremstal Straße especially around the shopping center. A by-pass has partially already been built from Traun to the Plus City. The rest of it is readily planned but a conflict on the financing of the construction between the affected municipalities of Pasching and Leonding and the Republic of Austria as the owner of the street delays the start of construction. Pasching got major attention for its football (soccer) club FC Superfund that played in the Austrian major league, the Bundesliga 2002-2007.

The DP camp Haid, officially Wohnsiedlung 121 Haid, was a camp for displaced persons, first under American administration, then Upper Austrian administration. It was located in the district of Haid, Ansfelden in Upper Austria. Displaced persons were civilians who were affected by the turmoil of World War II, first with unknown residence. After the Second World War Ansfelden belonged to the American occupation zone. The camp was set up by the American military administration at the existing labor camp of the Wehrmacht from 1945. In September the same year between 8,000 and 9,000 captured SS men were guarded by American soldiers in the camp, who had to continue efforts to expand. In the following years, the camp was populated with displaced Jews from Poland and the homeless from Yugoslavia, Romania, Hungary, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Transylvania, Sudeten Germans and Croats. In October 1956, when in Hungary the uprising against Communist rule with was crushed by Russian armored troops, some 700 refugees arrived in the last stocks of the camp.

The Aloysian College (German: College Aloisianum) is a private Catholic Gymnasium and Realgymnasium located in Linz, Austria. Its roots are in a Jesuit seminary on the school's grounds in 1837, and the enlargement of this seminary as St. Aloysius Jesuit College in 1853. In 1912 the seminary took its present name, and in 1992 it became a day school open to the general populace.

The Freinberg Transmitter is a broadcasting transmitter on the Freinberg near Linz. It was established in 1928 as medium wave broadcasting station and used until 1936 a T-antenna, which hung up on two guyed masts, which were 45 metres tall. In 1936, the T-antenna was replaced by a 165 metre tall mast, insulated against ground. In summer 1950, the antenna mast was shortened to 120 metres, because it was too long for the new frequency and would have a bad radiation diagram. In October 1957, the mast was again extended to 146 metres and in 1965 the transmitters were replaced by a new device. At the beginning of the 1980s, medium wave broadcasting ceased at Freinberg. The mast is now used for FM transmission.

2006 World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships is the second in a series of World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships (also called World Masters Athletics Championships Indoor, or WMACi). This second edition took place in Linz, Austria, from 15 to 20 March 2006. The main venue was TipsArena Linz (called Intersport Arena Linz at the time), which is reputedly one of the most beautiful indoor arenas in Europe. : 19  The arena has a banked six-lane indoor track where the turns are raised to neutralize the centrifugal force of athletes running the curves. Supplemental venues included Linzer Stadion for throwing events. This Championships was organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC): Percy Hirsch, Wilhelm Koester, Brian Keaveney. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition. A full range of indoor track and field events were held. In addition to indoor competition, non-stadia events included Half Marathon, 8K Cross Country, 10K Race Walk, Weight Throw, Hammer Throw, Discus Throw and Javelin Throw.
