Niederdorla

Central Germany or Middle Germany (German: Zentraldeutschland or Mitteldeutschland), in geography, describes the areas surrounding the geographical centre of Germany. Hesse, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia are the only landlocked German states without an international border except for the city-states of Berlin and Hamburg.

The Opfermoor Vogtei is an open-air museum at the location of a prehistoric and protohistoric sacrificial bog (German: Opfermoor) in the municipality of Vogtei, Thuringia, in Germany. It lies within the former municipality of Oberdorla, approximately 200 metres (220 yd) from Niederdorla, and the site is also known by those names. The site, which includes a shallow lake, was a supra-regional cult site from the Hallstatt Period (6th century BCE) to the Migration Age (5th century CE) developed by people whose descendants became, in Friedrich Maurer's nomenclature, the Rhine-Weser Group of Germanic people. It is the largest known Iron Age cult site in Central Europe and has yielded important information about pre-Germanic and Germanic religious practices. Excavations took place there between 1957 and 1964, and recovered artifacts and reconstructions of shrines are presented in an open-air museum on the site, which includes a reconstructed village, and an associated museum in Niederdorla.

Vogtei is a municipality in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis district of Thuringia, Germany. It was formed on 31 December 2012 by the merger of the former municipalities of Langula, Niederdorla, and Oberdorla. The closest town and the only one that it borders is Mühlhausen northerly. The Hainich National Park is situated westerly.

Wilder Graben is a river of Thuringia, Germany. The Wilder Graben springs from the Kainspring west of Oberdorla. It is a headstream of the Seebach. The confluence with the other headstream, the Mühlbach, is located southeast of Niederdorla.

Oppershausen is a municipality in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis district of Thuringia, Germany.

Vogtei is a former municipal association (Verwaltungsgemeinschaft) in the district Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis in Thuringia, Germany. The seat of the association was in Oberdorla. It was disbanded on 31 December 2012. The Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Vogtei consisted of five municipalities: Oberdorla, Kammerforst, Langula, Niederdorla, and Oppershausen.

Oberdorla is a village and a former municipality in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since 31 December 2012, it is part of the municipality Vogtei.

Felchta (pronounced [ˈfɛlçtaː]) is a village and quarter of the town of Mühlhausen in Thuringia, central Germany.

Langula is a village and a former municipality in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since 31 December 2012, it is part of the municipality of Vogtei.

Kammerforst is a municipality in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis district of Thuringia, Germany.

Divi Blasii is a Gothic church in the Thuringian town of Mühlhausen, central Germany. Besides St Mary's, it is one of Mühlhausen's two principal churches. Divi Blasii is a three-aisle, cruciform hall church, situated on the Untermarkt (Lower Market) in the historical centre of the town. The elaborately designed display façade with tracery, pinnacles and a wheel window on the north side is located on an old trade route. Today, Divi Blasii is the central parish church of the Lutheran parish of Mühlhausen within the Protestant Church in Central Germany.

Flarchheim is a village and a former municipality in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the municipality Unstrut-Hainich. Flarchheim was the site of the Battle of Flarchheim on January 27, 1080, one of the very few times the Holy Roman Empire attempted to wage a midwinter military campaign in northern Europe.
