Bunyip, Victoria

Bunyip railway station is located on the Gippsland line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the town of Bunyip, and it opened on 8 October 1877.The remains of a former goods and stock platform (the siding for the platform was removed in April 1988) and a crane are opposite the single platform. The track up to the western (Up) end of the station was duplicated in 1956, but the section from Bunyip to Longwarry remains as single track, due to the bridge over the Bunyip River. The line was electrified in July 1954, and was removed between Bunyip and Warragul in December 1998, and Pakenham and Bunyip in 2005, as part of the Regional Fast Rail project. However, a substation and a short section of overhead, both of which are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register, have been retained to the west of the station.On 26 August 1988, the electric staff system between Bunyip and Longwarry was abolished, and was replaced with automatic three-position signalling. The signal box, interlocking and all two position signals were also abolished.The station was de-staffed on 26 May 1991.As part of the Regional Rail Revival project, a second platform is to be built at the station, and the line duplicated between Bunyip and Longwarry. The project is due to be completed in late 2022.

Garfield railway station is located on the Gippsland line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the town of Garfield, and it opened on 17 December 1884 as Cannibal Creek Siding. It was renamed Garfield on 28 March 1887.The station was destroyed by fire on 20 February 1924. In 1954, electrification of the line was provided between Pakenham and Warragul, and in 1956, the line between Tynong and Bunyip was duplicated, with a new down platform (Platform 2) provided.In 1971, a crossover at the station was abolished, and in 1978, the up end connection to the siding was abolished. The siding was abolished altogether in 1987.In 1998, electrified services between Pakenham and Warragul ceased, with de-electrification between those stations occurring in 2001.

Longwarry recorded a population of 2,004 at the 2016 Census. Longwarry has one primary school, Longwarry Primary School. Longwarry is bypassed by the Princes Freeway.

Longwarry railway station is located on the Gippsland line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the town of Longwarry, and it opened on 1 July 1881.The track east of the station to Drouin was duplicated in 1952, but the section between Bunyip and Longwarry remains single track, because the bridge over the Bunyip River has not been duplicated. The line to Warragul was electrified in July 1954, but electrification was removed in December 1998.On 26 August 1988, the electric staff safeworking system between Longwarry and Bunyip was abolished, and was replaced with automatic three-position signalling. The double line block system between Longwarry and Warragul was also abolished, along with the signal box and all two position signals. At the same time, boom barriers were provided at the Yannathan Road level crossing, replacing hand-operated gates. By October 1989, the connections to the former goods siding was abolished, as was the overhead wire above the siding.As part of the Regional Rail Revival project, a second platform is to be built at the station, and the line duplicated between Bunyip and Longwarry. The project is due to be completed in late 2022.

At the 2016 census, Labertouche had a population of 356.The first post office in Labertouche opened on 5 April 1876.The locality is named after Peter Paul Labertouche, the Secretary of the Victorian Railways Department in the late nineteenth century, and who descended from an Irish Huguenots family.A school was opened in 1880 and continues to operate.The tree species Grevillea barklyana is endemic to an area near Labertouche.

As of the 2006 Australian Census, Ripplebrook has a population of 221.Ripplebrook is mainly farmland used for horse agistment and stud farms. It has a primary school and a Bed & Breakfast Ripplebrook Cottages.
