Dankmarshausen

Dippach is a village and a former municipality in the Wartburgkreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the town Werra-Suhl-Tal.

Monte Kali and Kalimanjaro are local colloquial names for the spoil heap or spoil tip that towers over the town of Heringen, Hesse, Germany. It is one of a number of sites where the K+S chemical company dumps sodium chloride (common table salt), a byproduct of potash mining and processing, a major industry in the area. The names are puns of Kali (shorthand for Kalisalz, German for "potash") on "Monte Carlo" and "Kilimanjaro." The heap lies directly next to the border with the state of Thuringia, and hence next to the former inner German border with what was once East Germany. The heap rises over 250 metres (820 ft) above the surrounding land, its summit reaching 520 metres (1,710 ft) above sea level. According to the Werra Potash Mining Museum in Heringen, Monte Kali has been in operation since 1976; as of August 2016, it covered 98 hectares (240 acres) and contained approximately 201 million tonnes of salt, with another 900 tonnes being added every hour and 7.2 million tonnes a year.

Wildeck is a municipality in Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in northeastern Hesse, Germany lying right at the boundary with Thuringia, 54 km southeast of Kassel.

Heringen (Werra) is a small town in Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in eastern Hesse, Germany lying right at the boundary with Thuringia.

The Hornungskuppe (called the Hornsberg in the Middle Ages) is a wooded hill, 439 m above sea level (NHN), in the Thuringian Zipfel on the border of Hesse and Thuringia in Germany. It is part of the natural region of the Seulingswald. The Hornsberg was mentioned in documents dating to the 12th century in connexion with the eponymous noble family. It belongs to the parish of Widdershausen in the borough of Heringen in the Hessian county of Hersfeld-Rotenburg and the parish of Dankmarshausen in Thuringian Wartburgkreis. The border between the two German states runs over the hill. The Hornungskuppe is (still) used for forestry. The fenced in terrain on which the spoil tip of Monte Kali stands begins on its western slopes. Barely 500 metres to the northeast on a spur of the Hornungskuppe stands Hornsberg Castle.

Großensee is a village and a former municipality in the Wartburgkreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the town Werra-Suhl-Tal.

The Weihe Viaduct (German: Weihetalbrücke) is a bridge of the A 4 motorway near Richelsdorf, Germany. It is located in the stretch of the A 4 between Bad Hersfeld (Hesse) and Eisenach (Thuringia), between the exits Wildeck-Obersuhl and Gerstungen. It crosses the valley of the small river Weihe. The bridge was intended to have been built at the beginning of the 1940s, but it wasn't finished then: only a few columns were built. Instead for the motorway a provisional route through the valley was constructed. In the 50 years to follow its construction was cancelled due to its location near the former border between the German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany. After the 1990 German reunification, traffic increased considerably, and in 1992 construction of a new bridge was started. One of the old columns was kept as a monument. The new bridge (45 million DM construction costs) was inaugurated in 1994. It is a prestressed concrete bridge of 584 m, which rest on 8 columns.

Werra-Suhl-Tal is a town and a municipality in the Wartburgkreis district of Thuringia, Germany. It was created on 1 January 2019 by the merger of the municipalities of Berka/Werra, Dankmarshausen, Dippach and Großensee. Its name refers to the rivers Werra, Suhl (Weihe) and Suhl (Werra).

Berka/Werra is a former Verwaltungsgemeinschaft in the district Wartburgkreis in Thuringia, Germany. The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Berka/Werra. It was disbanded in January 2019, when its municipalities were merged into the new town Werra-Suhl-Tal. Berka/Werra (also Berka an der Werra) is a town and a former municipality in the Wartburgkreis district, in Thuringia, in central Germany. Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the town Werra-Suhl-Tal. It is situated on the river Werra, 19 km west of Eisenach.
