Washington Boulevard Building

The Capitol Park Historic District is a historic district located in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It is roughly bounded by Grand River, Woodward and Michigan Avenues, and Washington Boulevard. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Detroit Plaindealer (1883–1894) also known as simply The Plaindealer, was an American newspaper that served the Black community and was published in Detroit. Since 2020, the former newspaper publishing building has a historical marker at 1114 Washington Boulevard in the Capitol Park district in Detroit.

The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit is a historic skyscraper hotel in Downtown Detroit, Michigan, within the Washington Boulevard Historic District. Designed in the Neo-Renaissance style, and opened as the Book-Cadillac Hotel in 1924, the 349 ft (106 m), 31-story, 453-room hotel includes 65 exclusive luxury condominiums and penthouses on the top eight floors. It reopened in October 2008, managed by Westin Hotels, after a $200-million restoration.

Stevens T. Mason, also known as the Stevens T. Mason Monument, is a monumental statue in Detroit, Michigan, United States. The monument was designed by sculptor Albert Weinert and architect H. Van Buren Magonigle in honor of Stevens T. Mason, who had served as the first governor of Michigan in the mid-1800s and is notable for being the youngest person to ever serve as the governor of a U.S. state. Mason's remains are interred underneath the monument, which is located in Capitol Park, the site of the former state capitol building. The monument was dedicated on Memorial Day 1908.

The Farwell Building is a commercial building and residential building located at 1249 Griswold Street in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1974, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

DIME DETROIT (Detroit Institute of Music Education) is a for-profit college based in Detroit, Michigan. DIME DETROIT opened in the Fall of 2014 and the initial tuition for the entire 3-year BA program was $39,000. DIME offers bachelor's degrees in Commercial Music Performance (Guitar Bass, Drums, Vocals), Commercial Songwriting, and Music Industry Studies. DIME initially partnered with Falmouth University to validate its bachelor's degrees. In March 2016 a partnership with Metropolitan State University was announced that allows DIME students to be eligible for federal student aid. This partnership ended in March 2020. DIME is now partnered with Oakland University in Michigan, and allows DIME students to receive BA degrees through Oakland University. DIME students are students of Oakland University, and therefore pay the same tuition rate as OU students, and have access to all services that OU students have access too, as well as DIME's facility and faculty in downtown Detroit. In 2016, they opened their second campus DIME Denver, based in the Santa Fe Arts District. On March 16th, 2020, MSU notified DIME and the DIME students that they were ending the partnership between the two colleges. The DIME founders claim that MSU Denver “voluntarily breached” their agreement by refusing to adhere to the 360-day notice period of termination. In a statement they stated, “On March 16th 2020, as the COVID 19 lockdown began, and without prior notice to DIME Directors or senior management, Metropolitan State University of Denver unilaterally announced by email to all DIME students and faculty that they were ending the MSU Denver at DIME partnership agreement." Later that same year, DIME reopened with a new partnership with Oakland University. DIME was founded by Kevin Nixon and Sarah Clayman. The Beringea Group invested 3 million dollars in DIME to help it open. Prior to founding DIME, Nixon and Clayman founded and managed the for-profit Brighton Institute of Modern Music.

General Alexander Macomb is a monumental statue in Detroit, Michigan, United States. The monument, designed by sculptor Adolph Alexander Weinman, was dedicated in 1908 in honor of Alexander Macomb, a Detroit native who had served as the Commanding General of the United States Army for several years in the early 1800s. The statue was dedicated on September 11, on the anniversary of the Battle of Plattsburgh, a War of 1812 battle that Macomb had participated in. In recent years, the statue has come under criticism due to Macomb's connections to slavery and the mistreatment of Native Americans.

The Detroit Commerce Building was located at 138-150 Michigan Avenue (the corner of Michigan Avenue and Shelby Street), in downtown Detroit, Michigan. The high-rise stood at 13 stories, 12 above-ground, and one basement floor. It was built in 1915 as headquarters for the People's Outfitting Company department store and was designed in the Chicago School architectural style. The store moved to other quarters in 1959 and the building was converted to office space. For many years, the building was home to the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce, for which it was named, and various agencies of the City of Detroit and Wayne County.It was demolished in 2007 to create a parking garage for the Book Cadillac Hotel. The ten-story garage is topped by five additional stories containing 80 condominiums, developed between 2015 and 2016 by Roxbury Group.

The Albert, formerly the Griswold Building, is a former office building named after architect Albert Kahn, located at 1214 Griswold Street in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is part of the Capitol Park Historic District. In 2014, it was renovated into apartments.

The Industrial Building is a high-rise building located at 1410 Washington Boulevard in downtown Detroit, Michigan, within the Washington Boulevard Historic District. It occupies the northeast corner on Grand River Avenue and Washington Boulevard. The building stands 22 storeys tall, with 21 above-ground floors, and one basement level. It was completed in 1928, and is one of the many structures built by architect Louis Kamper on Washington Boulevard in the 1910s and 1920s. Kamper designed the Industrial Building with a mixture of Art Deco, Gothic Revival and Beaux-Arts architectural designs. The upper stories feature several setbacks and piers, and the roof has an intricate design of limestone cornices. Built as an office building, the tower was later converted to residential use and renamed the Park Place Apartments. A fire struck the building in February 2003, temporarily displacing over 100 residents.

The United Way Community Services Building is a high-rise office building completed in 1895 at 1212 Griswold Street, at the northeast corner of State Street, in the Capitol Park Historic District of downtown Detroit, Michigan. The 48.77 m (160.0 ft) 12-story building was designed by architects Spier & Rohns and was the tallest in the state when built. The lower two floors are faced with a brown rusticated stone with the main entry centered on the south façade and framed by four square pilasters of gray granite. Floors three through five are smooth stone and floors six through twelve are tan brick. The structure originally had an elaborate cornice surrounding the twelfth floor which was removed in the 1950s. The light court which extended from the fifth to twelfth floor above the entry was filled in 1988 and faced with glass and a gabled glass roof to provide additional office space.

The David Stott Building is a 38 story high-rise apartment building with office space on floors 2-6 and retail space on the first floor. The "Stott" was originally built as a class-A office building located at 1150 Griswold Street (corner of Griswold and State Streets) in Downtown Detroit, Michigan, within the Capitol Park Historic District. It was designed in the Art Deco style by the architectural firm of Donaldson and Meier and completed in 1929. Bedrock Detroit owns and manages the building which began leasing in late 2018 and includes 107 apartment homes and 5 floors of commercial office space.
