Egge is a small village in Lier in Buskerud, Norway. It is the location of Egge Farm (Egge Gård) which is noted for its fruit orchards.

Lierbyen is the administrative center of Lier municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. The village is situated on the Lierelva River in the valley of Lierdalen which extends from Drammensfjord north toward Sylling near Tyrifjorden. Lierbyen is located about 39 km from Oslo, about 8 km from Drammen off European route E18. Lierbyen is a part of a greater urban area which also encompasses the villages Lier, Reistad and Kjellstad. The urban area has a population of 4,233 (2007).Lierbyen was the birthplace of Hans Christian Heg, who emigrated in 1840 with his parents to Muskego, Wisconsin. Heg served as a colonel and brigade commander in the Union Army in the American Civil War. Heg organized the 15th Wisconsin Volunteer Regiment at Madison, Wisconsin. More popularly known as the Scandinavian Regiment, the majority of its members were immigrants from Norway, or other Scandinavian countries. His statue by Paul Fjelde was raised in Madison, Wisconsin, with a cast erected in his home village.

Sjåstad is a village in Lier municipality, Buskerud county, Norway. Sjåstad and the neighboring village of Oddevall are regarded as one community. The two villages have a combined population of 556 (2014).Sjåstad is the site of Sjåstad Church (Sjåstad Kirke). The church was designed by architect Henry Bucher.It was dedicated during 1896. It is constructed of stone and has a seating capacity of 370.

Tranby is a village in Lier municipality in Viken, Norway. The village consists mainly of three residential areas located in a semi-circle around a small forest area. Tranby is a part of a greater urban area which also encompasses the village of Hennummarka. The urban area is named Tranby and has a population of 5,322.Tranby Church (Tranby kirke) dates from 1855. It was designed by architects Heinrich Ernst Schirmer and Wilhelm von Hanno. The edifice is constructed of stone and has 360 seats. Access to the site is via Rv282 and Rv285.

Oddevall is a village in Lier municipality, county of Buskerud, Norway. Oddevall and the neighboring village of Sjåstad are regarded as a single community with a combined population of 556 residents as of 1 January 2014.

The trust is owned by Southern and Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority and is headquartered in Drammen. It covers an area with 470,000 residents in 26 municipalities. Vestre Viken has 9,500 employees.Vestre Viken operates Bærum Hospital, Drammen Hospital, Kongsberg Hospital and Ringerike Hospital in Hønefoss. It also operates them medical center Hallingdal Hospital in Ål. It also runs the ambulance service with fifteen bases.

Buskerud County Municipality (Norwegian: Buskerud fylkeskommune) was the regional governing administration of the old Buskerud county in Norway. The county municipality was established in its most recent form on 1 January 1976 when the law was changed to allow elected county councils in Norway. The county municipality was dissolved on 1 January 2020, when Buskerud was merged with the neighboring counties of Akershus and Østfold, creating the new Viken county which is led by the Viken County Municipality. The administrative seat is located in Drammen and the county mayor was Roger Ryberg. The main responsibilities of the county municipality included the running of the 13 upper secondary schools. It managed all the county roadways, public transport, dental care, culture, and cultural heritage sites in the county. Public transport was managed through Vestviken Kollektivtrafikk.

Bragernes Church (Bragernes Kirke) is a parish church at Drammen in Viken county, Norway.It was designed by Ernst Norgrenn (1839-1880) in Neo Gothic style and built of brick. It was consecrated in 1871. The old Bragernes church (Gamle Bragernes kirke) was west of Bragernes square. Built in 1708, it burned down in 1866.Bragernes church is located at the end of Church Street north of Bragernes square in the center of Drammen. Bragernes Cemetery is west of the church. The tower is 64 metres (210 ft) tall. The pulpit was designed by Ernst Norgrenn, while the baptismal font was by Christian Borch. The altarpiece, Resurrection was painted by Adolph Tidemand. It was copied in many Norwegian churches. The church organ has 38 voices and was built in the romantic style of organ builder Carsten Lund Organ Builders of Copenhagen (Carsten Lund Orgelbyggeri).

Buskerud District Court (Norwegian: Buskerud tingrett) is a district court located Buskerud, Norway. This court is based at four different courthouses which are located in Drammen, Hokksund, Kongsberg, and Nesbyen. The court serves the western part of Buskerud which includes cases from 16 municipalities. The court in Drammen accepts cases from the municipalities of Drammen and Lier. The court in Hokksund accepts cases from the municipalities of Øvre Eiker, Modum, Sigdal, and Krødsherad. The court in Kongsberg accepts cases from the municipalities of Flesberg, Kongsberg, Nore og Uvdal, and Rollag. The court in Nesbyen accepts cases from the municipalities of Flå, Hemsedal, Hol, Gol, Nesbyen, and Ål. The court is subordinate to the Borgarting Court of Appeal.The court is led by a chief judge (sorenskriver) and several other judges. The court is a court of first instance. Its judicial duties are mainly to settle criminal cases and to resolve civil litigation as well as bankruptcy. The administration and registration tasks of the court include death registration, issuing certain certificates, performing duties of a notary public, and officiating civil wedding ceremonies. Cases from this court are heard by a combination of professional judges and lay judges.

Lier is a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lierbyen. The municipality of Lier was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area Åssiden was transferred from Lier to the neighboring municipality of Drammen on 1 July 1951. Norway's longest indoor shopping center, Liertoppen, is located in Lierskogen. The newspaper Lierposten is published in Lier.
