Taylor, Michigan

Taylor Preparatory High School or for short, Taylor Prep is a charter high school located in Taylor, Michigan in Metro Detroit serving grades 9-12th. It has 422 students. It was announced in early 2013 by PrepNet schools after the closed St. Alfred Catholic School was sold by the Archdiocese of Detroit to the company after the elementary was closed in 2011. The school was opened in fall of 2013 under the leadership of Aquan Miles as the schools principal. As of late 2020, the school is now owned and operated by National Heritage Academies. As of fall of 2019 the school offers an early college program in partnership with the Wayne County Community College District.

Lake Wayne formed in the Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair basins around 12,500 years before present (YBP) when Lake Arkona dropped in elevation. About 20 feet (6.1 m) below the Lake Warren beaches it was early described as a lower Lake Warren level. Based on work in Wayne County, near the village of Wayne evidence was found that Lake Wayne succeeded Lake Whittlesey and preceded Lake Warren. From the Saginaw Basin the lake did not discharge water through Grand River but eastward along the edge of the ice sheet to Syracuse, New York, thence into the Mohawk valley. This shift in outlets warranted a separate from Lake Warren. The Wayne beach lies but a short distance inside the limits of the Warren beach. Its character is not greatly different when taken throughout its length in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. At the type locality in Wayne County, Michigan, it is a sandy ridge, but farther north, and to the east through Ohio it is gravel. The results of the isostatic rebound area similar to the Lake Warren beaches.

Taylor High School is a senior high school in Taylor, Michigan. It is in the Taylor School District. The name is a reference to the city where it is located.

The Gateway Bridge is a tied-arch bridge in Taylor, Michigan. It carries Interstate 94 (I-94) over eight lanes of US Highway 24 (US 24, Telegraph Road). The bridge itself is six travel lanes wide.

Harry S. Truman High School was located in Taylor, Michigan in Metro Detroit. It was opened in 1973 as a combined High School and Middle School. The original school physical plant was designed using the Open School concept, which meant they had classrooms with no walls. But after several years of operating using that concept and a configuration as a combined senior/middle school, Taylor School District leaders decided to change the school into a stand-alone high school. In addition, district leaders began the process of installing walls within the building, creating individual classroom that continue to be the current school configuration today. Truman High School has been renamed Taylor High School in Fall 2018, following the Spring 2018 closure of Kennedy High School. Because of the closure, Kennedy's 2017-18 freshman class was transferred to Truman High School. As part of the renaming, school colors have been changed to black and gold, and the athletics teams will become the Griffins. The school served portions of Taylor, Dearborn Heights, Inkster, and Westland.

Baptist Park School, located in Taylor, Michigan, USA, was a private Christian school that opened in 1974 and closed in 2016 due to declining enrollment. The school was founded by the Gilead Baptist Church. Baptist Park school offered classes from preschool through twelfth grade. It was a private, co-educational school, which stressed Baptist religious principles. In 2007–08 there were 213 students.

Heritage Park is a community park in Taylor, Michigan located at 12111 Pardee Road. Many know it as "The Jewel of the City". The park offers baseball diamonds, soccer fields, historical buildings, a public library, and many more events for the public to enjoy. Families gather at Heritage Park to engage in activities with the family outside of the home. Free walking tours, which include descriptions of the origins of each historical building located on-site are available upon request.

The Taylor Sportsplex is a sports facility owned by and located in the City of Taylor, Michigan. The indoor facility contains four arenas that host a variety of sporting events—especially ice hockey and soccer—and a variety of special events.

John F. Kennedy High School was a high school located in Taylor, Michigan, in the United States, in Metro Detroit. The school, which had two stories, served portions of Taylor and Brownstown Township. It had a capacity smaller than that of Truman High School.

The Albania-American Bektashi Teqe in Michigan (Albanian: Teqeja e Pare Bektashiane ne Amerike) is a Bektashi Sufi tekke located in Taylor, Michigan, United States. It was founded by Baba Rexheb, a Bektashi community leader who had immigrated to the United States from Albania. As the first Bektashi building founded in the United States, the tekke was consecrated on May 15, 1954.

Annapolis High School is a high school located in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, United States. The school was established in 1967 and first accredited in 1970. Annapolis High School is one of three high schools located in Dearborn Heights, the others being Crestwood High School and Robichaud High School.
