A. Y. Jackson Secondary School is a community high school in the Glen Cairn neighbourhood of Kanata, a suburb in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and was first opened in 1976. The school was named after A. Y. Jackson, the famous Canadian painter, and one of the founders of the Group of Seven. AYJ had approximately 700 students attending its program in 2020–2021. The majority of students come from W.O. Mitchell Elementary School, Glen Cairn Public School, and Katimavik Elementary School, its four associate schools.

Glen Cairn is a neighbourhood in Kanata South Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is also the name of a public school in the area. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, it was located in the City of Kanata. It is located in South Kanata, about 22 km (14 mi) west of Downtown Ottawa. It was one of the original neighbourhoods in Kanata. The community was built in the 1960s, and was part of Goulbourn Township until the creation of Kanata in 1978. As of the Canada 2016 Census, there were 11,836 people living in Glen Cairn.

Kanata South Ward or Ward 23 (French: Quartier Kanata-Sud) is a municipal ward in Ottawa, Ontario. Located in the city's west end, the ward created in 2006 includes the communities of Katimavik-Hazeldean, Glen Cairn, Bridlewood, and Trailwest. During a ward re-organization in 2006, the former Kanata Ward was split into two wards, Kanata North for areas north of Highway 417 and Kanata South for areas to the south.

Katimavik-Hazeldean is a neighbourhood in Kanata South Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the former City of Kanata which amalgamated into Ottawa in 2001. It is located in south-central Kanata, bounded by Eagleson Road to the east, Hazeldean Road to the south, the Carp River to the west, and Highway 417 to the north.According to the Canada 2011 Census, the total population of the neighbourhood was 12,088.

Eagleson is a station on Ottawa, Ontario's transitway served by OC Transpo buses. It is located in the western transitway section at Eagleson Road and Highway 417. Eastbound buses enter the station; westbound buses remain on Eagleson and service is from an adjacent bus stop.The station also has a large park and ride facility, which was named after a former City of Kanata councillor, Eva James, who died in December, 1995, shortly after its official opening. A second parking section was later added west of Eagleson Road.

The Kanata Town Centre is a three-storey office building with a smaller one-storey retail component in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 150 Katimavik Road, south of Highway 417, in the Katimavik-Hazeldean community of the Kanata area. It contains approximately 10,000 square metres (110,000 sq ft) of gross floor area. Once intended as the first phase of a central business district for the (then) City of Kanata, the focal point of the planned commercial core for Kanata was later shifted to lands to the north of Highway 417. The office component of the Kanata Town Centre served as the City of Kanata's first permanent city hall.

Teron is an OC Transpo Transitway Station in Ottawa, Ontario. The station is located in the suburb of Kanata on Campeau Drive just east of the intersection with Teron Road from which it takes its name, which in turn was named after William Teron, who was responsible for developing Kanata. It is near the western off-ramp of Highway 417 at March Road and an overpass north of Eagleson Station and Park and Ride. Teron was officially included in the Transitway system in the 2007 fall schedules. The main purpose of the new Transitway facility according to OC Transpo's Transplan program as the result of public consultation process on transit improvement was to improve connections between local routes in Kanata North and routes 63 and 64, which travel to the Kanata North Business Park from Lebreton Station and Lincoln Fields Station. Other routes, such as route 62, route 164 (serving Hope Side Road), and route 168 (serving Beaverbrook and Bridlewood serve Teron Station, and routes 62, 164, and 168 all provide a connection to Kanata Centrum at Terry Fox Station from routes 63 and 64 in Kanata North.Additionally, Teron will be part of a future extension of the Western Segment of the Transitway. According to the Ottawa Transportation Master Plan, the segment from Eagleson Road to Terry Fox Drive is scheduled to be completed by 2031.

Kanata Theatre (informally known as KT) is a community theatre organization, operates the Ron Maslin Playhouse, a 350-seat theatre located in the Kanata district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was opened in May 1996 by Merle Nicholds, then the mayor of Kanata, and Marianne Wilkinson. The Building was designed by Peter Smith, who also designed the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto. They stage 6 plays a year including and annual family musical.

Earl of March Secondary School is an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board secondary school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in suburban Kanata in the Beaverbrook neighbourhood near the Ottawa Public Library Beaverbrook Branch and the John G. Mlacak Centre. The school also serves the neighbourhoods of Kanata Lakes, Beaverbrook, Katimavik-Hazeldean, Richardson Ridge, and Morgan's Grant.

Terry Fox station is a bus stop on Ottawa, Ontario, Canada's transitway served by OC Transpo buses and named after cancer research activist Terry Fox. It is located in the western transitway section and is the main western terminal of routes 61 and 62 for all trips not extended to/from Stittsville. It is located adjacent the Kanata Centrum shopping centre at Kanata Avenue and Earl Grey Drive, just east of the Highway 417 exit at Terry Fox Drive. The station entered service in September 2004 with construction still having been underway at that time; it officially opened on February 22, 2005. Before the station's construction, a small terminal was located at Kanata Town Centre, located south of Highway 417 on Katimavik Road. The station was needed as the Kanata Centrum was getting more and more popular, while the Kanata Town Centre was desolate for several years. Previously, service to Centrum was very limited, but the construction of the Castlefrank Road/Kanata Avenue interchange and Valour Bridge overpass over Highway 417 have permitted for several bus routes to serve the Centrum. The station also contains a Park & Ride facility to supplement the often-full Eagleson station. As of April 23, 2017, route 96 is renumbered and re-branded as Rapid Route 61, and similarly route 92 is Rapid Route 62. Both operate with their respective previous routings (route 61 on Hazeldean, Castlefrank, and Katimavik; route 62 on Huntmar, Palladium, and Campeau) to/from downtown and St-Laurent. Route 118 is also being re-numbered to route 88 at this time, also with no change in routing.

The Bell Sensplex is a four-pad ice facility, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the primary practice facility of the Ottawa Senators NHL team. In a partnership with the city of Ottawa, it is also used for minor hockey and hosts the annual Bell Capital Cup ice hockey tournament. The Sensplex is located at 1565 Maple Grove Road in the former city of Kanata. It was also the home arena for the Ottawa Lady Senators of the Canadian Women's Hockey League.

Beaverbrook is a suburban neighbourhood in Kanata North Ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located within the former city of Kanata. Beaverbrook is known for its hedged houses and community facilities. The neighbourhood is bounded by the Kanata North Business Park to the north, March Road to the east, Campeau Drive to the south and Knudson Avenue & Weslock Way to the west. According to the Canada 2011 Census, the total population of the neighbourhood was 5,182.
