Fairgrove, Michigan

Fairgrove Township is a civil township of Tuscola County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,549 at the 2020 census. The village of Fairgrove is located within the township, as well as the southern half of the village of Akron.

Akron is a village in Tuscola County of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 349 at the 2020 census. The village is located on the boundary between Akron Township on the north and Fairgrove Township on the south, with the village area approximately evenly split between the two. The Akron post office, with ZIP code 48701, also serves the southern and western portions of Akron Township, as well as portions of northern Fairgrove Township, most of eastern Wisner Township, and smaller portions of western Columbia Township and Almer Township.

The Watrous General Store, also known as the Juniata Township Hall, is a former commercial structure located at 4607 W. Caro Road in Watrousville, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It currently houses the Watrousville Museum.

The Richard C. Burtis House or Wedding Cake House is a Historic Site in Tuscola County, Michigan. The two-story Second Empire building was built from 1879 to 1880 for Richard C. Burtis, a shoemaker and local landowner. Ornamentation includes brackets and a decorative frieze supporting a mansard roof with decorative slate shingle. A bay window topped by a steep octagonal tower dominates the front facade. The Burtis home appeared on Travel Channel in 2019.

The Tuscola Bay wind farm, located in Fairgrove, Michigan and owned by NextEra Energy Partners, was put into operation in 2012. Each of the 75 wind turbines in the farm is 262 feet high, with a blade length of 150 feet. The output of each turbine is 1.6 megawatts, with a total farm output of 120 megawatts.

Tuscola County ( TUSS-koh-lə) is a county in the Thumb region of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the population was 53,323. The county seat is Caro. The county was created by Michigan Law on April 1, 1840, from land in Sanilac County and attached to Saginaw County for administrative purposes. The Michigan Legislature passed an act on March 2, 1850, that empowered the county residents to organize governmental functions. Tuscola County is one of five counties in the Thumb area. Like the rest of the Thumb, Tuscola County enjoys seasonal tourism from cities like Flint, Detroit and Saginaw.

Tuscola Area Airport (IATA: TZC, ICAO: KCFS, FAA LID: CFS, formerly 78D) is a public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) southwest of the central business district of Caro, a city in Tuscola County, Michigan, United States. It is owned by the Tuscola Area Airport Authority. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a local general aviation facility. Many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA. However, this airport is assigned CFS by the FAA but has been assigned TZC from the IATA. Note that CFS was assigned to Coffs Harbour Airport in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia.

Unionville is a village in Tuscola County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, Unionville had a population of 481. The village is located in the northwestern corner of Columbia Township.

Denmark Township is a civil township of Tuscola County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,741 at the 2020 census. Denmark Township was organized in 1853.
