De Nolet (also known as Noletmolen) is a wind turbine in Schiedam, The Netherlands which is disguised as a traditional Schiedam windmill. De Nolet has a tower height of 43 metres and a gross height of 55 metres including its rotor tips.It is 9 metres higher than De Noord which is the tallest windmill in the world. De Nolet was built in 2005 by the Nolet Distillery to power their brewing factory which produces the Ketel One vodkas and gins.

Schiedam Centrum is a railway station and metro station in Schiedam, just to the west of Rotterdam, Netherlands, on the railway line between The Hague and Rotterdam Centraal. Train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen, and metro, tram and bus services are operated by Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram.

Marconiplein is an underground subway station in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, and is part of Rotterdam Metro lines A, B, and C. The station is part of the two station long extension of the East-West Line (also formerly called Caland line) and opened on 25 April 1986. This extension connected the new Marconiplein and Delfshaven stations with the line's former terminus Coolhaven. Until 4 November 2002 Marconiplein station was the western terminus of the East-West Line. On that date, an extension towards Schiedam Centrum and Tussenwater stations opened.

Heijplaat is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Based on garden village design principles, the planning of the area was started in 1913 using funds from the 1902 Housing Act. The project was initiated by the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (Rotterdam Dry Dock Company), one of the largest shipbuilders in the country, to provide housing for skilled workers on a roughly 17 acre peninsular site between the Waalhaven and Heysehaven basins, across the River Maas from Rotterdam's centre. Its planner, Herman Ambrosius Jan Baanders (1876-1953) provided space for 400 brick houses as well as a host of community facilities that were 'all within the context of the company's moralistic paternalism'. During the first phase of construction two churches, two schools, a community centre with shops, a library, a bath house, a firehouse, and a café and theatre located in an after work centre were constructed. A village square with a bronze fountain provided a civic focus and an archway spanning Vestastraat added an element familiar in Dutch villages, with bachelors' apartments located above and a restaurant next door. Although its density of about seventeen houses per acre was more than twice that of 't Lansink, 'the underlying town-planning principles are essentially the same', as Rg. Hofstee has observed. Later phases extended the village to the south and during the 1950s, to the southwest. Heijplaat was threatened with demolition during the 1980s, but protestors were able to win its protection

Spangen is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is in the west of the city with about 10000 inhabitants. From the entrance of Spangen to the center is formed by the Mathenesserbrug across the Delfshavense Schie. The design of the area is world-famous among architects and urban planners, but for the casual visitor it is not the first thing that strikes. Spangen is socio-economically one of the poorest neighborhoods of the country. The population is over 85 percent of foreign origin.

Spangen Castle (also known as ter Nesse) was a medieval castle near the village Overschie. It has disappeared completely. The Rotterdam city quarter Spangen was named for the castle.

The Sparta Youth Academy is a football youth academy based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from where the organization manages a total of 13 youth teams (ages 7–18). The former Van Nelle Factory (Dutch: Van Nellefabriek) on the Schie in Rotterdam, is considered a prime example of the International Style based upon constructivist architecture. It has been a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. Soon after it was built, prominent architects described the factory as "the most beautiful spectacle of the modern age" (Le Corbusier in 1932) and "a poem in steel and glass" (Robertson in 1930).
