State Street Bank Building, also known as 225 Franklin Street, is a high-rise office building located in the Financial District, Boston, Massachusetts. The building stands at 477 feet (145 meters) with 33 floors and was completed in 1966. It is tied with 33 Arch Street as the 20th-tallest building in Boston. The architectural firm who designed the building was F.A. Stahl & Associates. State Street Bank Building was one of the first skyscrapers to be built in Boston after the completion of the Prudential Tower in 1964. The building gained its name from the prominent "State Street Bank" lettering present at the top of the building for many years, although the sign has since been taken down. A similar "State Street" sign was subsequently placed at One Lincoln Street. In 2009, Fish & Richardson agreed to lease space in One Marina Park in South Boston as its new headquarters and abandon its current headquarters at the State Street Bank Building. It will move beginning in the third quarter of 2010.

One Post Office Square is a 41-floor modern skyscraper in the Financial District section of Boston, Massachusetts. The skyscraper is Boston's 12th-tallest building, standing 525 feet (160 m) tall. The building has exactly 831,975 square feet of Class A office space. An attached, eight-level parking garage offers 368 parking spaces and direct access to the building's lobby. It overlooks Post Office Square Park and was designed by Jung Brannen Associates. A previous building on the site at 101 Milk Street was the headquarters of the Boston Elevated Railway until about 1919.

Milk Street is a street in the financial district of Boston, Massachusetts, which was one of Boston's earliest highways. The name "Milk Street" was most likely given to the street in 1708 due to a milk market at the location, although Grace Croft's 1952 work "History and Genealogy of Milk Family" instead proposes that Milk Street may have been named for John Milk, an early shipwright in Boston. The land was originally conveyed to his father, also John Milk, in October 1666. One of the first post offices in Boston was founded on the street in 1711, when the first regular postal routes to Maine, Plymouth and New York were established.

Post Office Square (est. 1874) in Boston, Massachusetts is a square located in the financial district at the intersection of Milk, Congress, Pearl and Water Streets. It was named in 1874 after the United States Post Office and Sub-Treasury which fronted it, now replaced by the John W. McCormack Post Office and Courthouse. The square is almost entirely occupied by a privately owned and managed but publicly accessible park, Norman B. Leventhal Park, named for the Boston building manager and designer who designed it. It sits above a parking garage, named "The Garage at Post Office Square." The garage descends to 80 feet (24 m) below the surface, at the time one of the deepest points of excavation in the city. Revenues from parking fund the maintenance of the park. The 1.7-acre (0.69 ha) park is a popular lunchtime destination for area workers. It features a café, fountains, and a pergola around a central lawn, and the management provides seat cushions for visitors during the summer. Designed by landscape architects The Halvorson Company, the park is also home to "125 species of plants."

The Richardson Block is a historic block of commercial buildings at 113-151 Pearl and 109-119 High Streets in Boston, Massachusetts. It consists of a series of buildings constructed in the aftermath of the Great Boston Fire of 1872. The first of these buildings, at the corner of Pearl and High Streets, was designed by William Preston and built in 1873 for Jeffrey Richardson, using granite and brick salvaged from buildings that had previously stood on the site. The area was an important locus of the leather goods business both before and after the fire, and the buildings constructed after the fire are among the only neo-Greek commercial structures standing in Boston's Financial District.The properties were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. They are currently under consideration for Boston Landmark status by the Boston Landmarks Commission.

Standing 452 feet (138 m) tall, the highrise is currently the 23rd-tallest building in the city. 125 High Street has approximately 1.8 million square feet (167,000 square meters) of Class A office space. It was designed by Jung Brannen Associates and is owned and operated by Tishman Speyer

Julien Hall (built 1825) was a building in Boston, Massachusetts, on the corner of Congress Street and Milk Street. It flourished 1825-1843, housing a variety of public events such as lectures by Red Jacket, William Lloyd Garrison; temperance meetings; political meetings; auctions; exhibitions of live animals, portraits by William James Hubard, John H. I. Browere; performances of the "automaton chess player" and the "panharmonicon;" and so on. By 1842 boxer John Sheridan had converted space in the hall into an athletic gymnasium. The building was known as "Julien Hall" because it had been "built on the land where formerly stood the much noted Julien's Restorator." It was also called "Congress Hall." In 1828 it was described as "a large and convenient edifice ... erected in 1825, by Dr. Edward H. Robbins. ... There are two halls in this building, 55 by 44 feet square; the principal one is 15 feet high, and receives light through the cupola in the centre. These are rented for various purposes, such as public exhibitions, the holding of meetings, &c."

Julien's Restorator (c. 1793–1823) was a restaurant in Boston, Massachusetts, established by French-born Jean Baptiste Gilbert Payplat dis Julien. It was one of the first restaurants in Boston; previous public eating-rooms were in "taverns or boarding houses."

Congress Street in Boston, Massachusetts, is located in the Financial District and South Boston. It was first named in 1800. It was extended in 1854 (from State Street) as far as Atlantic Avenue, and in 1874 across Fort Point Channel into South Boston. Today's Congress Street consists of several segments of streets, previously named Atkinson's Street, Dalton Street, Gray's Alley, Leverett's Lane, Quaker Lane, and Shrimpton's Lane.

The Hungarian Revolution Memorial (also known as Hungarian Monument) is a monument and sculpture by E. Gyuri Hollosy, installed in Boston's Liberty Square Park, in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It commemorates the thirtieth anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

The Gridley Street Historic District is a one-square-block commercial historic district on the edge of the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. It is bounded by High, Pearl, Purchase and Congress Streets, and was developed in the aftermath of the Great Boston Fire of 1872. The district includes the previously-listed Richardson Block, as well as the Henry Willis Building (169-177 Purchase Street), both built immediately after the fire, as well as the Western Union Building (a 1930 Art Deco high-rise), and the Bradley and Woodruff Block, a Romanesque Revival structure. The moderate scale of these buildings (which are dwarfed by the modern skyscrapers of adjacent blocks) typifies the post-fire development period. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
