Apopka is a city in Orange County, Florida. The city's population was 55,000 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Apopka comes from Seminole word Ahapopka for "potato-eating place".Apopka is referred to as the "Indoor Foliage Capital of the World" due to the many greenhouse nurseries there.

The Waite-Davis House (also known as the Leslie P. Waite House) is a historic home in Apopka, Florida. It is located at 5 South Central Avenue. On August 2, 1990, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Mitchell–Tibbetts House (also known as the Miner House) is a historic home in Apopka, Florida. It is located at 21 East Orange Street. On November 7, 1991, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The house was built for R.N. Mitchell, a pioneer in the Apopka area. It was later owned by George W. Tibbetts, a general in the Union Army.

The Apopka Seaboard Air Line Railway Depot is a historic Seaboard Air Line Railroad depot in Apopka, Florida, United States. It is located at 36 East Station Street. The station was built in 1918 to serve a line originally used by the Tavares, Orlando, and Atlantic Railroad in 1885. On March 15, 1993, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In 2010, a proposal was made to relocate the depot.

The Carroll Building (also formerly the site of the Apopka Historical Society Museum) is a historic building in Apopka, Florida. It is located at 407-409 South Park Avenue. On March 4, 1993, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It currently serves as the site of Aunt Gingibread's Bakery. The Apopka Historical Society now operates the Museum of the Apopkans at 122 East Fifth Street, Apopka, Florida.

The Ryan & Company Lumber Yard (also known as Ryan Bros., Inc.) is a historic site in Apopka, Florida. It is located at 215 East Fifth Street. On February 25, 1993, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Phyllis Wheatley High School, previously Apopka Colored School was a school for Black children in Apopka, Florida prior to desegregation of the public schools. It is now an elementary school.
