Satelmond Palace in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India is one of the palaces that belonged to the Travancore Royal Family. It is situated in the Poojapura ward of Thiruvananthapuram city. Originally known as Vijaya Vilasam (roughly translated as "the Place of Victory"), it later became known as Satelmond Palace. It was the official residence of Sethu Lakshmi Bayi during her regency. During the late 1970s, it was gifted by the royal family to the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, which started its biomedical technology wing there. The queen's portrait still hangs in the hallway at the entrance of the main building.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Technology for Women (LBSITW), Thiruvananthapuram, is the first engineering college for women in the state of Kerala on the Malabar Coast of southwestern India. This is the second engineering college managed by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala the other being LBS College of Engineering, Kasargod. LBSITW is the only engineering college for women in the Government sector in the state of Kerala. The center is administered by a governing body and an executive committee. The Honorable Chief Minister is the Chairman of the governing body and the Honorable Minister of Education is the Vice-Chairman. The institution was inaugurated on 30 Oct 2001. Approved by the AICTE and affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, LBSITW is a Government of Kerala undertaking.Prof. M Abdul Rahiman, a first batch student of LBS College of Engg Kasargod is the Principal of this institute. He is also holding the charge of Director LBS Centre for Science & Technology, parent organisation of this institute.

Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering (SCTCE) or SCT College of Engineering is a state-sponsored engineering college in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It was established in 1995 by the Government of Kerala. In 2006, Outlook magazine ranked it 98th out of their Top 100 Engineering Colleges of India, and it is one of the top three engineering colleges in Kerala. Thirumala is a suburb of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, India. The name is literally split into two, 'Thiru' 'Mala' meaning "Holy Hill" which refers to the hill on which an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to the god Krishna called Parakovil which is formally known as Thrichakrapuram S Thirumala is also a huge hill, the summit of which may be reached from the Killiar at Jagathy, top most point being Parakovil. Bhakti Vilas, also known as Bhakti Vilasom, was a state palace in Travancore, at Vazhuthacaud, in the capital Thiruvananthapuram, India, built at the end of the 19th century. It was formally the secondary official residence of the Diwan of Travancore outside of the royal fort complex, the primary official residence being Padma Vilas, but widely preferred by most Diwans. The style, that of a bungalow, hybridized traditional Malayali kovilakam architecture with western elements: the palace featured a traditional nadumuttam, or interior courtyard, but one spatially differing from the classical atrium of a Nālukettu. Bhakti Vilas further accented its semicircular arches with pilasters of a modified Ionic order. During the premiership of Sir C.P. Ramaswami Iyer, Bhakti Vilas was placed at his disposal as one of his official residences, although he extraordinarily also enjoyed Kanakakunnu Palace as his primary official residence. In 1952 Travancore Radio became All India Radio Thiruvananthapuram and its office shifted from Palayam to Bhakti Vilas Palace.

The Mukkolakkal Bhagawathi Temple (Malayalam: മുക്കോലക്കല്‍ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം) is a famous temple of the Hindu mother goddess Bhagawati. One of the renowned Goddess Temples in Kerala, Sree Varaham Mukkolackal Bhagavathi Temple is situated at Sreevaraham, on the south-east of Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The temple is situated on the south of the famous Sreevaraham Lakshmi Varaha Temple. 'Ooruttu Mahotsavam', the annual religious festival of the temple, is conducted in March - April every year.
