Haaren, North Brabant

Gever is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Oisterwijk, between the towns of Haaren and Oisterwijk.Gever is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Haaren. It has no place name signs, and consists of about 30 houses.It was first mentioned in 1311 as Godevaard van de Gever. The etymology is unclear.

Het Groene Woud (The Green Forest) is a special area of the Netherlands which is located in North Brabant between the cities of Tilburg, Eindhoven and 's-Hertogenbosch. It includes nature reserves such as the Kampina, the Oisterwijk forests and fens, Velderbos and the Dommel. In 2004 "Het Groene Woud" is designated by the government as a National Landscape. This is to prevent the area between the three large cities from becoming more urbanized. The combination of nature, sustainable agriculture and environmental recreation form a valuable cultural and historical landscape. "Het Groene Woud" covers a total of 7,500 hectares of marshes, meadows and agricultural landscape. It covers the municipalities Boxtel, Sint-Oedenrode, Schijndel, Sint-Michielsgestel, Best, Oirschot, Oisterwijk, Haaren and Vught. In Het Groene Woud, many species of mammals can be encountered: These include: red deer (introduced in 2017), roe deer, European badger, Eurasian harvest mouse, European polecat, European water vole, European hedgehog, Eurasian red squirrel, common pipistrelle, European hare, brown long-eared bat, stoat, serotine bat, Eurasian beaver, European mole, Natterer's bat, least weasel, red fox, Daubenton's bat, beech marten and several species of shrew, dormice, apodemus and arvicolinae. Hiking, canoeing and cycling activities are possible in this area.

Heikant is a former hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It was located about 2 km northwest of Helvoirt (now municipality of Vught). The hamlet is mentioned by the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, and shown on a map of the area. It is no longer considered to be a separate hamlet, although the houses and a street named "De Heikant" still exist. Heikant should not be confused with any of the other hamlets named Heikant in the Netherlands.

Biezenmortel is a village in the municipality Tilburg in the Dutch province North Brabant. The village had 1,465 inhabitants and 470 households in January 2020. Biezenmortel has a primary school called Franciscus and a community center called De Vorselaer. Centrally located in the village, there is a former Capuchin monastery called Beukenhof, that now serves as a group accommodation. The Sint Josephkerk, which was located inside the monastery, closed down in 2019.Just over 500 metres (1,600 ft) to the southeast of Biezenmortel lies Huize Assisië, a historic psychiatric complex founded in 1904. It consists of some 40 buildings including a chapel and houses around 200 intellectually disabled people.Before 2021, Biezenmortel was part of the former municipality Haaren.
