Lake Elmore

Elmore State Park is a state park located in Elmore, Vermont, United States. It includes Lake Elmore and Elmore Mountain, and has day-use facilities for picnicking, hiking, and water-based activities, and a 59-site campground. Some of its facilities were developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps; for these, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The park is open seasonally between Memorial Day and Columbus Day; fees are charged for day use and camping.

Elmore is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. It was granted by the Vermont Republic in 1780, and was named for Colonel Samuel Elmore (1720–1805), one of the original grantees. The population was 886 at the 2020 census. Elmore contains the villages of East Elmore and Lake Elmore, as well as Elmore State Park, a 700-acre (2.8 km2) recreational area on the 219-acre (0.9 km2) Lake Elmore and on Elmore Mountain to the west.

The Lamoille River Route 15-A Bridge is a modern steel-and-concrete structure, built in 2013 to carry Vermont Route 15A over the Lamoille River east of Morrisville, Vermont, United States. It was built to replace a metal truss bridge erected there in 1928. The old bridge, of Pratt through truss design, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, and was dismantled in 2007.

The Lamoille-Washington-1 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Lamoille-Washington-1 District includes all of the Lamoille County towns of Elmore and Morristown, and the Washington County towns of Woodbury and Worcester. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Lamoille-Washington-1 District had a population of 7,699 in that same census, 5.16% below the state average.

Morrisville is a village in the town of Morristown, Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, the village population was 2,086. Morrisville has two country clubs, a hospital, a school featuring Greek architecture and an airport. Morrisville is the headquarters for Union Bank.

The Morrisville Depot located at 10 Depot Street (aka 10 Railroad Street) in Morrisville, Vermont, is a decommissioned historic train station. Built in 1872 to serve the Portland and Ogdensburg Railway, the depot was known as the most important train station for the Vermont lumber industry, for its decorative architectural ornament, and for housing the headquarters of the St. Johnsbury and Lamoille County Railroad from 1959 to the early 1970s. It was subsequently converted into a restaurant. The Morrisville Depot was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 as building #15 in the Morrisville Historic District.

The Morrisville Historic District encompasses most of the historic commercial downtown area of the village of Morrisville in Morristown, Vermont. Developed in the early 19th century as a service town for the surrounding agricultural areas, it was transformed into a major service regional commercial center by the arrive of the railroad in 1872. Its surviving architecture is largely reflective of these two time periods. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and enlarged in 2007.

The Noyes House Museum is a historic house and museum Morristown, Vermont, overlooking the Lamoille River.

The Lamoille River is a river which runs through northern Vermont and drains into Lake Champlain. It is about 85 miles (137 km) in length, and has a drainage area of around 706 square miles (1,830 km2). The river generally flows southwest, and then northwest, from the water divide of the Green Mountains. It is the namesake of Lamoille County, Vermont, through which it flows. The river was the basis of the name of the now-defunct Lamoille Valley Railroad Company, successor to the St. Johnsbury and Lamoille County Railroad. Legend has it that early French settlers named the river La Mouette, meaning "The Seagull". However, a cartographer forgot to cross the t's, which led people to begin calling it La Moulle. Over time, this became Lamoille, elided in speaking. In July 2023, heavy rains caused flooding on the Lamoille River and on the nearby Winooski River and Missisquoi River.

Morristown is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,434. Morristown is the largest town by population in Lamoille County, and its central village of Morrisville serves as the county's main commercial center.

Rock Art Brewery is an American brewery in Morrisville, Vermont. It began production in 1997 in the Johnson, Vermont basement of founders Matt and Renee Nadeau. In 2001 it moved to a larger facility in nearby Morrisville. After buying another property in Morrisville and building a new facility, Rock Art moved again in 2011. Its beers are currently only distributed in Vermont. In addition to bottles, cans and growlers, it offers 5 gallon logs and 13.2 gallon kegs. In September, 2009, Hansen Natural brand Monster Energy sent a 'cease and desist' letter to Rock Art Brewery about its Vermonster series of microbrew beers, saying "VERMONSTER in connection with beer will undoubtedly create a likelihood and/or dilute the distinctive quality of Hansen's MONSTER marks." Hansen Beverage Co. has sought reimbursement for legal expenses and asked Rock Art Brewery to abandon a trademark application. Hansen has trademarks for “Monster” and “Monster Energy.”Matt Nadeau, a co-owner of Rock Art Brewery said he plans to fight the litigation, even though his attorney said it could be costly. “Just don’t forget, it could get nasty,” Nadeau said his attorney advised.Rock Art and Monster settled their dispute in October 2009. Nadeau credited social media and a grass-roots movement which pressured Hansen Beverage Co. Brooklyn Brewery has been using the name Monster since the late 1990s, prior to the creation of Monster Energy drinks.

The Green Mountain Arena is a 1,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Morrisville, Vermont. It is home to the Peoples Academy High School Wolves varsity hockey team. In the fall of 2011, it was home to the short lived Vermont Wild of the Federal Hockey League.
