Freedom Tower station

The Freedom Tower (Spanish: Torre de la Libertad) is a building in Miami, Florida. It was designed by Schultze and Weaver and is currently used as a contemporary art museum and a central office to different disciplines in the arts associated with Miami Dade College. It is located at 600 Biscayne Boulevard on Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus. On September 10, 1979, Freedom Tower was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. On October 6, 2008, it was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark for its role in hosting Cubans as they fled communist Cuba for Florida following the 1959 Cuban Revolution. On April 18, 2012, the AIA's Florida Chapter placed the building on its list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places as the Freedom Tower / Formerly Miami News and Metropolis Building.Freedom Tower is served by the Miami Metrorail at the Government Center Station and the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre station, as well as by the Metromover at the Freedom Tower station on the Omni Loop.

Miami Worldcenter is a large mixed-use development under construction led by principals Arthur Falcone and Nitin Motwani, spanning several blocks in the Park West neighborhood of Miami, Florida, just north of downtown. It may include over 25 acres of land, with a convention center, hotel space, residential, and street level retail and large anchor tenant spaces, such as Macy's and Bloomingdale's. The hotel and convention center are planned to be part of the same 55-story building. The hotel will include 1,800 rooms over the approximately 600,000 square feet (55,742 m2) convention center. One proposed residential building known as the Miami Worldcenter Signature Tower may rise to the maximum 749 feet (228 m) above sea level permitted in that area. The project will connect with the Brightline higher-speed rail system's MiamiCentral station. Additionally, the Freedom Tower Metromover station was renovated in 2021 and 2022, similar to the redeveloped Eighth Street station at Brickell City Centre in Brickell. Taubman announced that it will not be developing an enclosed regional mall as demand moved away from enclosed malls. Instead the plans were changed to reflect an open-air development better suited for Miami's sunny weather. On 14 January 2019, the first development at Miami Worldcenter, the Caoba apartment tower, was opened. Paramount Miami Worldcenter opened in 2019.

Biscayne Bay Street Circuit was a street circuit which was only used on 14 March 2015 for the 2015 Miami ePrix of Formula E. The track is located in the heart of Downtown Miami, running along the coast of Biscayne Bay, in addition to making its way underneath the MacArthur Causeway and around the AmericanAirlines Arena, the home of NBA basketball team Miami Heat. The track features eight turns. Production of the temporary street circuit was done by track design company Ayesa.

The Miami Fire-Rescue Department, also referred to as the City of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue, provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the city of Miami, Florida. The department is notable for being the first in the nation to equip all apparatus with two-way radios, as well as being the first to use fog nozzles.

Park West is a Metromover station in the Park West neighborhood of Downtown, Miami, Florida. This station is located at the intersection of Northeast Second Avenue and Eighth Street. It opened to service May 26, 1994, and is two blocks northwest of the Miami-Dade Arena.

College North is a Metromover station in Downtown, Miami, Florida. This station is located on Northeast Fifth Street and First Avenue, opening to service April 17, 1986.

MarinaBlue, also known as Marina Blue, is a skyscraper in Miami, Florida, United States. It is located in northeastern Downtown, on Biscayne Bay along the west side of Biscayne Boulevard. The tower was one of the first buildings in Park West to be completed. Built by Hyperion Development, the developers of another building named Blue on the Bay further uptown, the building finished construction in May 2007. Marinablue is located across the street from the Miami-Dade Arena. The building rises 615 feet (187 m), and has 57 floors. Marinablue is almost all-residential, with some retail and office space on the lower floors. The building was opened to residential occupancy since the spring of 2008. The building currently stands as the 9th-tallest in Miami and the 10th-tallest in Florida, as well as the 5th-tallest residential building in the city and the state.

The Miami Book Fair is an annual street fair and literary festival organized by Miami Dade College. The weeklong gathering attracts more than 300 national and international authors every years and features pavilions for comics, children, and young adults, among others.

Miami Dade College (Miami Dade, MDC or Dade) is a public college in Miami, Florida. Founded in 1959, it has a total of eight campuses and twenty-one outreach centers throughout Miami-Dade County. It is the largest college in the Florida College System with more than 100,000 students. The college enrolls a significantly larger number of Hispanic students compared to other colleges and universities in the state of Florida. The college serves a higher number of minority students than any other college in the nation.

Paramount Miami Worldcenter is a 60-story condominium tower in the Miami Worldcenter complex. The building contains 569 residential units, as well as an extensive amenities deck, containing an outdoor soccer field, two tennis courts, bungalows, gardens, a rooftop observatory, resort-style pools, walking paths, a game room, an indoor basketball court, a boxing studio, a golf simulator, 26 pool-side cabanas, and a "skyport", a landing area for flying cars.

Kaseya Center is a multi-purpose arena on Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida. The arena was previously named American Airlines Arena from opening in 1999 until 2019, FTX Arena from 2019 until 2023 following the bankruptcy of FTX, and Miami-Dade Arena during an interim period in 2023. Since April 2023, the naming rights to the arena are owned by Kaseya under a 17-year, $117.4 million agreement.The arena has capacity for 19,500 people, including 2,105 club seats, 80 luxury suites, and 76 private boxes. Additionally, for more intimate performances, The Waterfront Theater, the largest indoor theater in Florida, is within the arena complex, seating between 3,000 and 5,800 patrons. The theater can be configured for concerts, worship events, family events, musical theatre shows and other stage productions. American Airlines, which has a hub at Miami International Airport, maintains a travel center at the venue. The arena is directly served by the Miami Metrorail at Government Center station via free transfers to Metromover Omni Loop, providing direct service to Freedom Tower station and Park West station stations, within walking distance. It is also within walking distance from the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre station. The arena has 939 parking spaces, with those spaces reserved for premium seat and Dewar's 12 Clubhouse ticket holders during Heat games. ParkJockey manages the arena's on-site parking.

College Bayside is a Metromover station in Downtown, Miami, Florida, adjacent to the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College and one block west of the Bayside Marketplace. This station is located at Northeast Third Street and Second Avenue. It opened to service April 17, 1986 and is the last station to transfer directly to the Omni Loop.
