The Round Tower (German: Runder Turm) of Andernach in Germany is a large defensive tower, the town's keep and schauinsland (literally "look into the country"), the highest tower of a castle and of the town walls were called that way because they provided a far look into the surrounding country to see enemy troops approaching in time, dating to the 15th century, and a former watch tower in the town fortifications at the northwest corner of the medieval town wall. It is Andernach's symbol and is one of the mightiest fortified towers of its time.

Andernach Geyser (German: Geysir Andernach, previously Namedyer Sprudel) is the highest cold-water geyser in the world, reaching heights of 30 to 60 metres. The geyser was first bored in 1903 on the Namedy Peninsula (Namedyer Werth) in the Rhine near Andernach. In 2006 it was turned into a tourist attraction and one of the sights in the volcano park and part of the Geopark Vulkanland Eifel.

Andernach (German pronunciation: [ˈandɐˌnax]) is a town in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, of about 30,000 inhabitants. It is situated towards the end of the Neuwied basin on the left bank of the Rhine between the former tiny fishing village of Fornich in the north and the mouth of the small river Nette in the southeast, just 13 miles (21 km) north of Koblenz, with its five external town districts: Kell, Miesenheim, Eich, Namedy, and Bad Tönisstein. A few hundred metres downstream of Andernach the Rhine valley narrows from both sides forming the northern part of the romantic Middle Rhine stretch. Already in Roman times the place the narrow passage begins was named "Porta Antunnacensis" or Andernachian Gate. It is formed by two hills, the Krahnenberg (engl. Crane hill) and the Engwetter (Narrow weather) on the right bank near the wine village Leutesdorf (external town district of Bad Hönningen). The crane hill is named after the old crane beneath his foot (see below); in earlier times (until 1650) the hill was named "Geiersberg" ("Vulture's hill"). After World War II it was the site of two Rheinwiesenlager temporary prison camps.

Pellenz is a Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district Mayen-Koblenz, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated north-east of Mayen, and south of Andernach. The seat of the municipality was in Andernach, which was not part of the municipality itself and is now in Plaidt since 2017. The Verbandsgemeinde Pellenz consists of the following Ortsgemeinden ("local municipalities"): Kretz Kruft Nickenich Plaidt Saffig

The Pulverturm in Andernach is a tower that is part of the archiepiscopal-Electorate of Cologne castle at Andernach and, at the same time, a fortified tower in the town fortifications. It was built in 1519 at the behest of the Archbishop of Cologne and Prince-Elector Hermann V of Wied as part of the expansion and reinforcement of the already c. 300-year-old Stadtburg and town wall. It was built on the south side of the palas and marked the southwestern corner of the Electoral Cologne castle site. The tower, which today is 18 metres high, has a c. 13-metre-high, cylindrical, three-storey core with a diameter of c. 12 metres with a trefoil frieze of tuff stone that runs all the way round about 1.60 metres below the base of the conical roof. Another arched frieze runs around the tower at ground level, below which the outer wall is recessed by around 30 cm at a height of 1.50 metres, before widening again by about 20 cm. This area on the base of the tower below the ground level was the wall of the castle moat on the tower side in this area. The pitch of the original roof of the tower is unknown, but in medieval times it may have been significantly steeper and higher. After its destruction in 1689 it stood for almost 300 years as a roofless ruin. In 1980/1981 quite a number of renovation works were undertaken, especially on the eight surviving fortified towers of the town wall, in the course of which the Pulverturm was renewed. The destroyed outer wall of the tower was rebuilt and a new slate-covered spire and finial was added in 1981. The tower and the bergfried are the only intact buildings of the Electoral Cologne water castle.

The First Battle of Andernach between the West Frankish king Charles the Bald and the East Frankish king Louis the Younger took place on 8 October 876 near Kettig southeast of Andernach and resulted in Charles' complete defeat.

Andernach station is the transportation hub of the city of Andernach in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is a mid-sized station with thousands of passengers each day. It is currently classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. It has four passenger platforms (tracks 1, 2, 3 and 24), three with a length of more than 280 m, and sidings and freight tracks. It is on the Left Rhine line (German: Linke Rheinstrecke) and is the terminus of the Cross Eifel Railway (Eifelquerbahn). In addition to passenger operations, the station has container and freight operations to the east of the station, particularly serving the tin plate manufacturer, Rasselstein. In the station forecourt, there is a bus station, served by all city buses and regional bus services to Mayen, Neuwied and Ochtendung. The regional bus service to Maria Laach stops 50 metres from the bus station. The station is currently being modernised. It is planned to increase the height of the central platform for its entire length to 76 centimetres, modernise the platform roof, provide barrier-free access using lifts, improve the environment, including the bus station, implement bike-and-ride and park-and-ride facilities, and provide new access to the main platform.

The village of Gönnersdorf, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, extends on the hills north of the Rhine above the village of Fahr, which lies directly on the river. Gönnersdorf as well as Fahr are today part of the locality of Feldkirchen, itself incorporated into the town of Neuwied.

Namedy Castle (or Burg Namedy) is located in the Rhine valley, close to the village of Namedy in Andernach, Germany. Late gothic, moated castle (middle of the 14th century) originally belonging to the Husmann Knights of Andernach. Since 1909 in possession of the Rhenish line of the Hohenzollern dynasty.

Hammerstein Castle (Burg Hammerstein) is the ruin of a 10th-century mountain castle in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, the oldest in this entire Middle Rhine Valley. The ruin of one of its watchtowers still overlooks the Rhine at an altitude of 195 m, near the village of Hammerstein. The Rheinsteig hiking trail passes close to the ruins which can be reached via a small path.

The castellum or small fort nowadays called Am Forsthofweg was a Roman military camp of the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes. It received UNESCO World Heritage status in 2005.

Hammerstein is a municipality on the river Rhine in the district of Neuwied in Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany.
