Tsurukawa Station

Buaisō (武相荘) is the former home of post-war Japanese bureaucrat Jirō Shirasu and his wife Masako Shirasu, located in Machida, Tokyo, to the west of downtown Tokyo. The name was derived from an amalgamation of kanji for the former provinces of Musashi and Sagami, as its location is near the border between the two provinces. The house was a traditional farm house, located in what was then a rural area of Minamitama District, Tokyo. It was acquired by the Shirasu family in October 1942 while Jirō Shirasu was still a businessman working for the predecessor of Nichirei Corporation. Predicting that his residence in Shinjuku in downtown Tokyo would be endangered due to the worsening war situation in World War II and to avoid possible food shortages. His foresight paid off when his Shinjuku house was destroyed in the 1945 bombing of Tokyo. In the post-war era, he continued to use the house while working with Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Yoshida in negotiations with the American occupation authorities. Jirō Shirasu died in 1985 and his wife in 1998. The house was preserved by the city of Machida as a memorial museum to the couple, and is kept as it appeared when they lived there, with items varying according to the seasons. The house is a wooden structure constructed in the traditional style with a thatched roof, surrounded by Japanese gardens.

Wako University (和光大学, Wakō Daigaku) is a private university in Japan. It is located in Machida, Tokyo. Wako University is part of a comprehensive educational institute called Wako-Gakuen (和光学園) (meaning Wako schools), that includes kindergarten, two elementary schools, junior high school and high school. All schools are located in Tokyo. The university has direct attached schools, so that people who have attended from the elementary school are relatively wealthy and then they directly go to the university without taking an examination.

Takeshi's Castle (Japanese: 風雲!たけし城, Hepburn: Fuun!Takeshi-jō) is a Japanese game show that aired between 1986 and 1990 on the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS). It features the Japanese comedian Takeshi Kitano (also known as Beat Takeshi) as a count who owns a castle and sets up difficult physical challenges for players (or a volunteer army) to get to him. The show became a cult television hit around the world. It was highly influential on global popular culture, inspiring a genre of game shows involving physical challenges and painful entertainment, as well as other media. A special live "revival" was broadcast on 2 April 2005, for TBS's 50th anniversary celebrations. It was revived again in April 2023 for eight episodes which aired on Prime Video.

Tamagawa Gakuen (学校法人玉川学園) is a school in Machida, Tokyo, Japan, covering education from primary school to university. The school was founded by influential Japanese education reformer, Kuniyoshi Obara. The school is a member of the Round Square network of schools.

Kodomonokuni Theme Park (こどもの国) is an amusement park near Tokyo, located in Yokohama, Japan. The park's name means Children's Country. As the name implies, it is more oriented towards young children than teenagers. It was founded in commemoration of the Royal Marriage of Prince Akihito and Princess Michiko in 1959 (who reigned as Emperor and Empress from 1989 to 2019), and it was officially opened on May 5, a national holiday of the Children's Day, in 1965. The park is approximately 240 acres (97 ha), and includes such things as a children's petting zoo, a boating lake, and a barbecue site. It can be accessed by train from the Tokyu Corporation's Kodomonokuni Line, Kodomonokuni Station, or from Aobadai Station or Tsurukawa Station by bus.

The Battle of Ozawahara (Japanese: 小沢原の戦い) was fought in 1530 in the present day Asao, Kawasaki, Kanagawa. This was the first battle for Hōjō Ujiyasu, then sixteen years old.Ujiyasu faced Uesugi Tomooki at Ozawahara in Musashi Province. The battle was part of a seventeen-year struggle between the Hōjō clan and the Uesugi clan for control of the Kantō region which began with the 1524 Siege of Edo. The battle ended with a Hōjō victory.
