Weingut Hermann Dönnhoff is a German wine grower and producer based in Oberhausen, in the wine-growing region of Nahe, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The Dönnhoff family have been making wine in this region since 1750.From 1971, the Geisenheimer Helmut Dönnhoff has been in charge of winemaking at this estate and has been described by wine critics Hugh Johnson as having a "fanatical commitment to quality, and a remarkable natural talent for winemaking", and as a "superstar" of the region by Robert Parker. Helmut was named German Winemaker of the Year in 1999 by the Gault Millau Guide to German Wines.Eighty percent of Dönnhoff's twenty hectares of vineyard holdings grow Riesling grapes, with the remaining twenty percent Pinot blanc and Pinot gris. Depending on the vintage, around 10,000 cases of wine are produced by this estate each year.Dönnhoff is a member of the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP).

The Lemberg is a hill on the river Nahe between the villages of Niederhausen (Nahe), Oberhausen an der Nahe and Feilbingert. At 422 metres, it is the highest hill on the Nahe. Linguistic researchers believe the derivation of the name Lemberg is Lindberg ("lime hill") and local poets call it the "King of the Nahegau" (König des Nahegaus). The magmatic rock, porphyry, which is found here points to its volcanic origin.

Disibodenberg (German pronunciation: [diziˈboːdn̩bɛʁk]) is a monastery ruin near Staudernheim in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It was founded on the eponymous hill near the convergence of the Glan and the Nahe rivers by Saint Disibod. Hildegard of Bingen, who wrote Disibod's biography "Vita Sancti Disibodi", lived in Disibodenberg for 39 years. Today, it lies within the "Nature Protection Area Disibodenberg".

Saint Disibod (619–c.700) was an Irish monk and hermit, first mentioned in a martyrologium by Hrabanus Maurus (9th century). Hildegard of Bingen around 1170 composed a Vita of Saint Disibod He is commemorated on 8 September. According to Hildegard's Vita sancti Dysibodi, Disibod came to the Frankish Empire in 640 as a missionary, accompanied by his disciples Giswald, Clemens and Sallust. They were active in the Vosges and Ardennes, until, guided by a dream, Disibod built a cell at the confluence of the rivers Nahe and Glan, the location of the later monastery of Disibodenberg.
