Papamoa

Papamoa Hills Regional Park is a protected area in the Bay of Plenty Region, owned and managed by Bay of Plenty Regional Council. It is located between Papamoa and Te Puke, on Poplar Lane off State Highway 2.It covers 135 hectares of native bush and open farmland. The landscape consists of steep hills, reaching to a summit of 224 metres with sweeping views of the Bay of Plenty coastline from the Coromandel Peninsula to East Cape.The area is a traditional home for where Papamoa’s original Māori inhabitants, including Waitaha, Ngā Pōtiki, Ngāti Pūkenga and Ngāti He. Its traditional Māori name is Te Rae o Pāpāmoa, translating roughly as "the forehead of the woman who is the hills".

Te Puke is a town located 18 kilometres southeast of Tauranga in the Western Bay of Plenty of New Zealand. It is particularly well known for the cultivation of Kiwifruit.Te Puke is close to Tauranga and Maketu, which are both coastal towns/cities, as well as the small townships of Waitangi, Manoeka, Pongakawa, and Paengaroa. The Tauranga Eastern Link, completed in 2015, moved State Highway 2 away from Te Puke and removed large volumes of traffic from its streets. The town's name comes from the Māori language, and should be pronounced "teh-pook-ee", not "te-pyook". It translates to the hill; it is on a hill near the Papamoa Hills.

Papamoa Plaza, formerly Palm Beach Plaza is a shopping complex in Papamoa, Tauranga, New Zealand opened in 1997. It has an immediate catchment of 17,000 people; this rises to over 200,000 people in the summer holidays. There are 37 stores in the Plaza.

Kairua is a rural area of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand's North Island. State Highway 2 runs along its northern side, and crosses it at the northeast. Baypark Stadium is in the northwest of the area. The East Coast Main Trunk railway runs along the south side of SH 2. Kairua railway station opened on 2 September 1928, and closed 28 September 1957. The road between the railway station and Mount Maunganui was sealed in 1948.

Te Puke High School is a state, co-educational secondary school located in Te Puke, New Zealand. The school serves students from Year 9 to Year 13, and had a roll of 915 students as of February 2017.

Otawa is a rural area in the Western Bay of Plenty District and Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. The Otawa Scenic Reserve has several walking tracks varying between 30 minutes and four hours return. The tracks are described as advanced. The peak of Otawa is 565 metres.

Te Maunga is a suburb of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty, in New Zealand's North Island. A large timber fire broke out in Te Maunga in November 2019.The area experienced surface flooding in June 2020.In September 2020, the New Zealand Transport Agency began work on a new traffic interchange.

Mercury Baypark Stadium (formerly known as Trustpower Baypark Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tauranga, New Zealand. It is currently used for dirt track Speedway and jetsprints events during summer, and various other events throughout the year. A $42 million multi-purpose facility, the Mercury Arena, is situated next to the stadium. The arena also has a cafe and provides catering services through the onsite caterer Bay Catering.

Arataki is a suburb of Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. Bayfair Shopping Centre is located in Arataki.

Bayfair Shopping Centre, (usually referred to as 'Bayfair' by locals), is one of the main shopping malls in Tauranga located in the suburb of Mount Maunganui. Bayfair is also known for being the first shopping mall built in Tauranga. Bayfair is owned by Fisher Funds Management, and is managed by AMP Capital.

Mount Maunganui (Māori pronunciation: [ˈmaʉŋaˌnʉi], locally ) is a major residential, commercial and industrial suburb of Tauranga located on a peninsula to the north-east of Tauranga's city centre. It was an independent town from Tauranga until the completion of the Tauranga Harbour Bridge in 1988, which connects Mount Maunganui to Tauranga's central business district. Mount Maunganui is also the name of the large lava dome which was formed by the upwelling of rhyolite lava about two to three million years ago. It is officially known by its Māori name Mauao, but is colloquially known in New Zealand simply as The Mount.The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "large mountain" for Maunganui.

Omanu is a beach and suburb in Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. The white sandy beach is accessible via several public walkways through the dunes. It is a popular place to swim, surf and walk, and hosts surf lifesaving competitions.A surf lifesaving club was established at Omanu in 1947 to patrol the beach. It is now the largest surf club in Bay of Plenty, and has the largest children's nippers programme in New Zealand.Between July 2014 and December 2015, Omanu recorded the most burglaries of any suburb in Tauranga. Police say many of the thieves are opportunists.The club also patrolled Papamoa Beach until a new club was established there in 1990.A new club house was proposed in 2002 and completed in June 2006.Tauranga City Council monitors erosion at the beach regularly and replenishes sand every year.
