Derbyshire Royal Infirmary

Litchurch is a historical area in the city of Derby, in Derbyshire, England. From Medieval times it was a rural township associated with Derby but outside the burgh boundary, before experiencing rapid urbanisation and population growth in the 19th century. After a brief existence as a self-governing local board area between 1866 and 1889, it was absorbed by the newly-created Derby county borough and has subsequently fallen into obscurity.

The Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, formerly the London Road Community Hospital, is a community hospital on London Road in Derby, England. It is managed by the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The other main hospital in Derby is the Royal Derby Hospital.

Derby Congregational Chapel was designed by architect Henry Isaac Stevens and was built in 1843. It stood on the corner of Traffic Street and London Road on a plot of land of 1,600 square yards. It was built of brick and stuccoed, with five circular-headed windows on each side, and a large square window at the eastern end. The portico and pediment supported by four columns was built in the Corinthian order, with Hollington stone. The contractors were Messrs Gascoyne. The chapel was extremely popular with worshippers. The chapel was converted to the Coliseum Cinema in 1934. It was in direct competition with the Odeon (now Zanzibar nightclub) and was virtually opposite its biggest rival. The building was closed in August 1961 when plans for the widening of Traffic Street were approved. It was demolished in early 1962, and no trace of the building remains today.

Derby Arboretum is a public park and arboretum in the city of Derby, England, located about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of the city centre in the Rose Hill area. It was opened in 1840, following the donation of the land by local philanthropist Joseph Strutt, and to designs by John Claudius Loudon. It was the first publicly owned, landscaped, urban, recreational park in England. After many years of neglect, the Arboretum was extensively refurbished in the early 21st century with the aid of a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of almost £5 million. It is listed as Grade II* on the Historic England Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.

Derbion (formerly Intu Derby, Westfield Derby and the Eagle Centre) is a large indoor shopping centre in Derby, England. It is the largest shopping centre in the East Midlands and the 15th largest in the United Kingdom.

Arboretum is an electoral ward in the city of Derby, England. It includes Derby city centre and the inner city suburbs of Pear Tree and Rose Hill, as well as part of Normanton. It covers much of the area of the historic township of Litchurch. The ward, which takes its name from Derby Arboretum in Rose Hill, had a population of 18,590 in 2011.

W. W. Winter is a photography studio in Derby, the "longest running photography business in Britain". The origins of the business have been traced back to 1852. The studio in Midland Road was built in 1867 by Walter William Winter.In 2014, the studio had a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant of £51,800 to begin preserving and cataloguing its glass negative photographs. In 2017, to celebrate 150 years in the same premises, an exhibition was held at Derby Museum and Art Gallery.

Derby Theatre is a theatre situated in Derby, England, located within the Derbion shopping centre. Formerly known as the Derby Playhouse, it was owned and run by Derby Playhouse Ltd from its opening in 1975 until 2008, when the company ceased operating after a period in administration. The theatre was reopened in 2009 as the Derby Theatre under the ownership of the University of Derby, who use it as a professional and learning theatre. In addition to the 531 seat main auditorium (originally 535 seats), the building contains a 110-seat studio theatre.

St Andrew's Church, London Road was a parish church in the Church of England in Derby, Derbyshire. It was built between 1864 and 1867 and demolished in 1971.

The Midland Railway War Memorial is a First World War memorial in Derby in the East Midlands of England. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and unveiled in 1921. The memorial commemorates employees of the Midland Railway who died while serving in the armed forces during the First World War. The Midland was one of the largest railway companies in Britain in the early 20th century, and the largest employer in Derby, where it had its headquarters. Around a third of the company's workforce, some 23,000 men, left to fight, of whom 2,833 were killed. Standing on Midland Road, within sight of Derby railway station and backing on to the garden of the Midland Hotel, the memorial consists of a cenotaph partially enclosed by a screen wall on three sides. Affixed to the wall are bronze plaques listing the names of the dead. On either side of the cenotaph is the Midland's coat of arms, enclosed in a laurel wreath. The crest is surmounted by a catafalque with sculpted lion heads at the corners, supporting the recumbent effigy of a soldier, covered by a coat. Lutyens renders the soldier anonymous by lifting him high above eye level, allowing the viewer to believe it could be somebody they knew. The memorial was unveiled on 15 December 1921. The Midland also published a book of remembrance, a copy of which was sent to the families of all the men listed on the memorial. Later in the 1920s, the Midland Railway was amalgamated into a larger company and Derby's importance as a railway centre waned. Today, the memorial stands in a conservation area and is a grade II* listed building. It was repaired in 2010 after several of the bronze plaques were stolen and later recovered.
