Lake Ann, Michigan

Almira Township ( al-MY-rə) is a civil township in the northeast of Benzie County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 3,873, making it the most-populous municipality in Benzie County.

Hardwood Acres is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Benzie County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 432 at the 2010 census. Hardwood Acres is located within Almira Township.

Long Lake is home to the largest nesting population of loons in the Lower Peninsula.Long Lake is primarily within the eponymous Long Lake Township, although a small portion extends south into Green Lake Township. The lake is the primary source of the Platte River, which flows west through Benzie County to Lake Michigan.

Bendon is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Benzie County in the U.S. State of Michigan. The population was 210 at the 2020 census. Bendon is located within Inland Township.

Long Lake Township, officially the Charter Township of Long Lake, is a charter township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 9,956 at the 2020 census, an increase from 8,662 at the 2010 census. Long Lake Township is one of three charter townships in Grand Traverse County, the others being East Bay Township and neighboring Garfield Township. Long Lake, from which the township takes its name, is the largest lake entirely within Grand Traverse County. Much of Long Lake Township is suburban due to its proximity to Traverse City.

Interlochen ( IN-tər-lock-ən) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. At the 2020 census, the population was 694, up from 583 at the 2010 census. The community is located within Green Lake Township, and is home to a post office operating with ZIP Code 49643. The community is home to the Interlochen Center for the Arts and also contains Interlochen State Park between the shores of Duck Lake and Green Lake. Interlochen is a designated Michigan State Historic Site.

Kasson Township ( KA-ssən) is a civil township of Leelanau County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,647 as of the 2020 census. A small portion of the township is included in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Green Lake Township is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 6,703 at the 2020 census, an increase from 5,784 at the 2010 census. The township is named after Green Lake, one of two large lakes in the township (the other being Duck Lake). The township is the home of Interlochen Center for the Arts, a prestigious arts boarding school. Interlochen State Park is also within the township.

Solon Township ( SOH-lən) is a civil township of Leelanau County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,562 at the 2020 census. Solon Township is home to the community of Cedar.

Interlochen Public Radio (IPR), established in 1963, is the National Public Radio member network for Northern Michigan. It broadcasts classical music and news on five stations in the northwestern Lower Peninsula. It is operated by the Interlochen Center for the Arts, with studios on the center's campus in Interlochen, Michigan; just outside Traverse City. It carries programming from NPR and Public Radio International. At one point early in the 2000s, IPR led the nation in annual listener support. This was all the more remarkable because it is the second-smallest NPR member in Michigan, and one of the smallest in the entire NPR system.
