Interlochen Center for the Arts ( IN-tər-lock-ən; also known as I.C.A. or Inty) is a non-profit corporation which operates arts education institutions and performance venues. Established in 1928 by Joseph E. Maddy, Interlochen Center for the Arts is located on a 1,200-acre (490 ha) campus in Green Lake Township, Grand Traverse County, Michigan, near the eponymous community of Interlochen.

Interlochen State Park is a public recreation area covering 187 acres (76 ha) between Green Lake and Duck Lake in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. It was the State of Michigan's first officially recognized state park. It was established by the Michigan Legislature in 1917; $60,000 was paid for the land. Originally named Pine Park, the park was created to preserve for future generations the virgin pine (Pinus strobus) stand. It is one of the few easily reached places in Michigan where old-growth (pre-European settlement) red pine can be found.In 1928, the National Music Camp was established on the property adjoining the northern boundary of the park. It is located next to the Interlochen Center for the Arts.Also popular at Interlochen State Park is the Three Discipline Triathlon Event hosted each July.

Green Lake Township is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 6,703 at the 2020 census, an increase from 5,784 at the 2010 census. The township is named after Green Lake, one of two large lakes in the township (the other being Duck Lake). The township is the home of Interlochen Center for the Arts, a prestigious arts boarding school. Interlochen State Park is also within the township.

At the 2020 census, the population was 694, up from 583 at the 2010 census. The community is located within Green Lake Township, and is home to a post office operating with ZIP Code 49643. The community is home to the Interlochen Center for the Arts and also contains Interlochen State Park between the shores of Duck Lake and Green Lake. Interlochen is a designated Michigan State Historic Site.

Duck Lake (also known as Lake Wahbekaness and formerly Betsey Lake) is a large lake in the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. Located within Green Lake Township, Grand Traverse County, Duck Lake is one of two lakes the forms the isthmus of Interlochen, the other being Green Lake. Duck Lake and Green Lake form part of the headwaters of the Betsie River, which flows west from Green Lake through Benzie County to Lake Michigan at Frankfort and Elberta. Duck Lake is about 9.5 miles (15.3 km) southwest of Traverse City. Also between Duck Lake and Green Lake are Interlochen State Park and Interlochen Center for the Arts, a prestigious boarding school.

Fife Lake ( FYFE) is a lake in the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. Located primarily in Fife Lake Township, Grand Traverse County, a small portion extends east into Springfield Township, Kalkaska County. The eponymous village of Fife Lake lies upon the lake's northern and western shores. The lake and village are named for William H. Fife, a postmaster from Yuba, elsewhere in Grand Traverse County.Fife Lake is part of the Manistee River watershed. Water from Fife Lake crosses south into Wexford County before encountering the Manistee River, where it flows west to Lake Michigan.

Karlin ( KARR-linn) is an unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan. Part of Grant Township, Karlin is within Grand Traverse County, and is considered part of Northern Michigan. As an unincorporated community, Karlin has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own.

Grant Township is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 1,212, a slight increase from 1,066 at the 2010 census. Grant Township is part of the Traverse City metropolitan area.

Bendon is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Benzie County in the U.S. State of Michigan. The population was 210 at the 2020 census. Bendon is located within Inland Township.

Bass Lake is a lake in the U.S. state of Michigan. Located in Grand Traverse County, Bass Lake is part of the Boardman River and Grand Traverse Bay watersheds. While primarily in Long Lake Township, some of the lake extends south into Green Lake Township. On the southwestern shore of Bass Lake lies Camp Carvela, a residential summer camp.

Grawn () is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. At the 2020 census, the community's population was 816. The community is located within Blair Township on the border with Green Lake Township.
