Bolton, Massachusetts

The Bolton Center Historic District is the historic center of the town of Bolton, Massachusetts. The district encompasses what is essentially a linear town center, strung out principally along Main Street (Massachusetts Route 117), with a well-preserved collection of residential and civic architecture spanning more than two centuries. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Nashoba Regional School District (Nashoba District or NRSD) is a school district that is based in Bolton, Massachusetts (USA) and also serves the towns of Lancaster and Stow.

The Bolton Public Library is a historic public library at 738 Main Street in Bolton, Massachusetts. The library collection was originally founded in 1859 in the Selectmens' Room at the Town Hall. In 1901, sisters, Emma Whitney (1845-1898) and Anna Whitney, donated $10,000 to Bolton to construct the current library building in honor of their father, Captain Joseph Whitney (1802-1878). The library was constructed by Stone, Carpenter and Willson between 1903 and 1904 in an English Tudor Revival style, which was uncommon and notable in the town at that time. Mason Aden B. Allen used Bolton fieldstone on the exterior and today both the exterior and interior, which features oak woodwork and stone fireplaces, remain intact. A large addition opened in 2010. The library contains over 50,000 books and other items, and the Bolton Library is part of the CWMARS regional network and the Commonwealth Catalog network allowing for delivery of books from across the state.

The Pan Burying Ground (also known as the Pan Cemetery, East Burying Ground, and East Cemetery) is an historic cemetery on 477 Main Street in Bolton, Massachusetts. Established in 1822, the cemetery was the second in the town. It was named for the area known locally as "The Pan", which had by then become the second-largest village center in the town. The original 1.18-acre (0.48 ha) plot has 400 marked graves, and is presumed to contain further unmarked graves, based on a pattern of marker layout at the rear of this portion of the cemetery. The cemetery was enlarged to 3.3 acres (1.3 ha) in the 1960s. It is distinctive in Bolton for its seven-chambered group tomb, built in 1839 at the southeast corner of the property.The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Wattaquadock Hill (also known as Wataquadock or Wataquodoc) is a 640-foot (200 m) hill and ridge in southwest Bolton, Massachusetts and the site of a 15-acre (6.1 ha) wooded conservation area containing hiking trails and wetlands. It is the highest point in Bolton.

Vaughn Hill (also known as Vaughan Hill or the Vaughn Hills) is a 637-foot (194 m) hill in northwestern Bolton, Massachusetts, and the site of a 187-acre (76 ha) wooded conservation area containing hiking trails and wetlands near the border with Harvard, Massachusetts. It is one of the largest parcels of conservation land in the town.

The Whitcomb Inn and Farm (also known as the David and Tilly Whitcomb House and Farm, and the Samuel Wheeler House and Farm) is an historic farm at 43 Old Sugar Road in Bolton, Massachusetts. The oldest portion of the farmhouse, which is believed to be the oldest building in Bolton, is estimated to have been built c. 1708, when David Whitcomb acquired the land from his father. The rear leanto section with a "Beverly jog" (a section of the rear addition projecting beyond the side of the original structure) was built about 10 years later, and an extension ell was added to the east of the house later in the 18th century. The building underwent stylistic changes in the 19th century, most of which were removed during a major restoration in 1937–38 by Philip Phillips.The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Nashoba Regional High School (NRHS) is a high school (grades 9-12) that is part of the Nashoba Regional School District. It is located in Bolton, Massachusetts, United States and also serves the towns of Lancaster and Stow. As of the 2018-2019 school year, it had a student population of just over 1000.

The Pan Historic District encompasses a historic rural landscape in eastern Bolton, Massachusetts. Named for its relatively flat terrain, the Pan was settled in the 18th century, with a largely agrarian settlement pattern augmented by small industries such as sawmills and a tannery. Architecturally the district has a well-preserved collection of Federal period residential architecture. Its main public feature is the Pan Burying Ground, an early cemetery located near the junction of Massachusetts Routes 117 and 85. It extends south from there along Route 85 and Long Hill Road, and north along Burnham Road.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.

The International Golf Club & Resort (commonly referred to as The International) is a 36 hole golf course located in Bolton, Massachusetts. At one time it had the longest 18 hole course in the United States and in 2022 hosted the LIV Golf Invitational Boston.

Bolton Flats Wildlife Management Area is a 455-acre wildlife management area surrounding the Nashua River and Still River in Massachusetts. The Bolton Flats Wildlife Management Area is located in the towns of Bolton, Lancaster and Harvard, and Route 117 crosses through the area. Bolton Flats is a flood plain that was originally named "Intervale" because it is located in a valley between several hills. Birding, canoeing, fishing, hiking and hunting are popular in the area. Various turtles, including the endangered blanding turtle, and rare nesting birds are found in the habitat, and downstream from Bolton Flats is the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge and Fort Devens Military Reservation.According to Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, "[t]he flat lowland between the Nashua River and the Still River is called Bolton Flats and is the result of the receded glacial Lake Nashua. The area is protected by the Commonwealth as the Bolton Flats Wildlife Management Area, which is in Harvard, Bolton and Lancaster. At the Bolton entrance to the Bolton Flats Management Area there is a modest early 20th century cape with a gambrel roof barn, owned by the state." The Still River area contains various Native American objects and was the site of brickmaking from colonial times into the nineteenth century. Several nearby brick houses, including the Haynes House (ca. 1820) at 304 Still River Road, were likely constructed using bricks from the Haynes Brickyard on the Still River.

The Firestone-Apsley Rubber Company was a tire company and factory located in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. It succeeded the rubber clothing companies Apsley Rubber Company and Goodyear Gossamer Company. It operated in its various guises from 1885 to the 1930s. Today the Firestone-Apsley factory building is owned by Hudson Lock, LLC, which produces keys, locks, and related goods.
