The Lower Nob Hill Apartment Hotel District is a historic district located in the Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California, U.S.. It covers roughly a 5-block length in downtown San Francisco on the south slope of Nob Hill. It is sometimes referred to as the "Tendernob," the name is a portmanteau for the area that is the meeting point of the Tenderloin and Nob Hill. The Lower Nob Hill Apartment Hotel District is listed as a California Historical Landmark since July 31, 1991; and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 31, 1991, for architecture and social history.

The name is a portmanteau of Tenderloin and Nob Hill, and is often used by realtors for marketing purposes. The term is often used in local slang as a euphemism for the Upper Tenderloin and Lower Nob Hill areas. For instance, the San Francisco Chronicle includes the Tendernob as part of Nob Hill, but the Michelin Guide does not differentiate between Nob Hill and the Tenderloin .Academy of Art University owns and uses several buildings in this area for both housing and educational purposes.

Hyde Street is an iconic street in San Francisco, California. Hyde Street connects the Aquatic Park Historic District to Market Street. A portion of the street is served by the Powell–Hyde line of the San Francisco cable car system, and the northern terminal of that line is on Hyde Street. The street also became famous for Rice-A-Roni commercials; almost every commercial ends with a cable car on the street. As of 2018, 300 block of the street in Tenderloin is unsanitary due to a high concentration of homeless drug addicts.

Blum hold in it.The Hotel Carlton was the permanent place of residence of the character Paladin, the lead character in the TV Western "Have Gun - Will Travel."

It has 408 contributing buildings and covers roughly a 33-city block radius in downtown San Francisco. The Uptown Tenderloin Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 5, 2009, for architecture and social history.

Polk Street (also sometimes referred to by its German name, Polkstrasse) is a street in San Francisco, California, that travels northward from Market Street to Beach Street and is one of the main thoroughfares of the Polk Gulch neighborhood traversing through the Tenderloin, Nob Hill, and Russian Hill neighborhoods. The street takes its name from former U.S. President James K. Polk. The street also has bike lanes, which were approved in 2002. San Francisco bike route 25 runs along Polk Street, and is the only North-South route suitable for casual bicycle travel within at least a mile in either direction. Some of the changes have been debated by residents and the improvements have continued as part of the SFMTA Polk Streetscape Project and Shared Spaces program, which has allocated outdoor street space for local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.

Divas Nightclub & Bar was a San Francisco nightclub located at 1081 Post Street in the Polk Gulch neighborhood of San Francisco, California, where it was located since 1998, prior to closing. With three floors, the club catered predominately to trans women and their admirers, until it closed on March 30, 2019. Prior to its location at 1081 Post Street, Divas had opened in 1989 across the street at the corner of Post and Larkin, under the name Motherload.

Fleur de Lys was a French restaurant in San Francisco, California, USA. It closed in June 2014, after a 28-year run.A sister restaurant in Las Vegas by the same name was closed in 2010, and then reopened under the name Fleur by Hubert Keller in 2010.

The venue is host to many touring productions of Broadway and Off Broadway plays, as well as variety, cabaret, comedians, and other theatrical events.Built in 1917 as a Shriner's Temple at a cost of $150,000, the building was designed in Exotic Revival style, looking much like an Islamic temple, by architect T. Patterson Ross. Upon opening, the June 1917 edition of Architect and Engineer described the building as "an adaptation from Alhambra, a building that stands as the highest mark of Arabian art and civilization." It served as a temple until 1970.After the Alcazar Theatre at 260 O'Farrell Street closed on December 31, 1961, and then demolished, this former temple on Geary Street became a legitimate theatre in 1976 and took on the name Alcazar.The structure was gutted in 1982 after attempts to salvage it failed. It reopened in 1993. Standing just west of Union Square, in the city's theatre district, the Alcazar has been renovated.The Alcazar Theatre was designated a San Francisco Historical Landmark in 1989.

Cathedral School for Boys (abbreviated as CSB or merely Cathedral) is a private boys' primary school located on Nob Hill in San Francisco, affiliated with Grace Cathedral. It was founded in 1957 and is notable for its choir, the Grace Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys. In recent years, the school has undergone extensive renovations and additions, most notably, an extension to the main building recently completed. Cathedral School is affiliated with the International Boys' School Coalition, the National Association of Independent Schools, the California Association of Independent Schools, and the National Association of Episcopal Schools. Mayor Gavin Newsom issued a proclamation that declared October 14, 2006 as "Cathedral School for Boys Day". October 14 was the celebration of CSB's 50th Anniversary.
