Chelmsford, Massachusetts

The Chelmsford Center Historic District is a historic district encompassing the historic heart of the town of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. It extends from the town's central square in the east, where the intersection of Billerica Road and Chelmsford Street is located, west beyond the junction of Littleton and North Roads with Westford Street, and from there north along Worthen Road. It includes the area that was the 17th-century heart of the town, including its common and first burying ground, and has been the town's civic heart since its founding.The district was added to National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Fiske House is a historic house located at 1 Billerica Road in Chelmsford Center, Massachusetts.

The Barrett–Byam Homestead is a historic house, now headquarters of the Chelmsford Historical Society, located at 40 Byam Road, Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States. The original house dates to circa 1663, though much or all today's structure may date from the mid-18th century. The homestead was established in 1663 by Thomas Barrett, who bought a house and 52 acres (21 ha) of land from a James Parker. It was originally built as south-facing "saltbox" with a central chimney and fireplace in every room. The heating system appears to have been rebuilt circa 1800 with Rumford fireplaces in each room.

Chelmsford High School is a public, coeducational high school founded in 1917. The current building is located in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States, and was built in 1974. Before 1974 the high school was located in the current McCarthy Middle School building. It serves as the public high school for students in grades nine through 12 and has been ranked among the top 500 schools in the nation by Newsweek.It is part of a central campus that includes four of the town's seven schools. The three other schools at the central campus are the C. Edith McCarthy Middle School, the Col. Moses S. Parker Middle School and the Charles D. Harrington Elementary School.

The Islamic Society of Greater Lowell (ISGL) is a mosque in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, which also serves as a center for lectures and social activities, including a weekly school. The mosque was established in 1993.Vandals attempted to seal the mosque's door shut with cement in August 2007.

The Hildreth-Robbins House (also known as Red Wing Farm) is a historic house at 19 Maple Road in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The main block of the 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in three stages, most likely over the course of the second half of the 18th century. That block is connected to a 19th-century barn (post-1860) via a long single-story ell. The property is significant as one of the major farmsteads of south Chelmsford of the 18th and 19th centuries. It is also distinctive as a rare 18th-century farm that was owned by a woman, Sarah Hildreth.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Middlesex County Training School is a former reform school located in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts. After its closure, its buildings were purchased by the University of Massachusetts Lowell, which utilized its buildings for its College of Education. Today, the school's records are housed in the Massachusetts Archives.One of its buildings was home to the Fay A. Rotenberg School, operated by the Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps, from 1982 until its 2006 relocation to Westborough, Massachusetts. The Rotenberg School (not to be confused with the Judge Rotenberg Educational Center, also in Massachusetts) is "the longest running and currently the only long-term treatment facility for adolescent females in the state".

The "Old Chelmsford" Garrison House (also known as the Old Chelmsford Garrison House Complex) is a historic house in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. It is the oldest house in Chelmsford, and has been preserved by the Garrison House Society as a museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The exact date the building was erected is not known; it is claimed by the Society to have been built before 1691, when it is claimed to be one of the houses listed as a garrison house in Chelmsford, but a 1702 deed transferring land on which it stands does not mention it. Thomas Adams deeded the land to his son, Peletiah Adams, in 1683, and Peletiah deeded the land to his two sons in 1702, who probably built the house. Stylistic analysis of its construction also supports a post-1700 construction date. The same stylistic analysis casts doubt on the belief that the house actually served as a fortified garrison.Before the title passed to the Garrison House Society in 1952, only three families had previously owned it. Very few modifications had been made to it in all that time, making it a relatively accurate historic showpiece. The house now shares its lot with a barn, summer kitchen, a working blacksmith shop, an herb garden, a craft house and the "Hill Jock House," which was saved from destruction and moved in 2004 to the lot shared by the Old Chelmsford Garrison House.

The Jerathmell Bowers House is believed to have built circa 1673, at 150 Wood Street in Lowell, Massachusetts. It is the oldest known home in Lowell. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The Jonathon Keyes Sr. House, also known incorrectly in town histories as the Solomon Keyes House, is a historic house at 16 Frances Hill Road in Westford, Massachusetts. It was probably built in the mid-18th century, and is one of the town's oldest surviving buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

The Chelmsford Glass Works' Long House is a historic tenement house at 139–141 Baldwin Street in Lowell, Massachusetts. The building, built in 1802 by the Chelmsford Glass Works to house some of its workers, is a series of 1–1/2 story Cape style wood-frame houses joined into a single structure. The building is one of the earliest industrial tenement structures built in the country. The glass works was established after the Middlesex Canal was opened, and needed to provide housing for its workers in what was then a somewhat rural location.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Stony Brook is a tributary of the Merrimack River in northeastern Massachusetts, joining the Merrimack at Chelmsford. Its watershed includes the towns of Boxborough, Harvard, Littleton, Ayer, Groton, Westford, Tyngsborough, and Chelmsford. Its farthest upstream tributary is Beaver Brook, originating in Wolf Swamp in Boxborough, 22 miles (35 km) upstream (southwest) of the mouth of Stony Brook in the Merrimack. Beaver Brook passes through Mill Pond in the center of Littleton and ends at Forge Pond at Forge Village in Westford. Stony Brook originates as the dammed outlet of Forge Pond and continues northeast past Graniteville, the Stony Brook Reservoir (not to be confused with the Stony Brook Reservoir in Weston and Waltham), Westford Station, Nabnasset, Brookside Station, and West Chelmsford, reaching the Merrimack at North Chelmsford.Stony Brook is parallel through its course by the Stony Brook Railroad.
