Berkley, Massachusetts

The Berkley Common Historic District is a historic district encompassing the historic heart of Berkley, Massachusetts. The town's village center is located near its geographic center, roughly midway between Massachusetts Route 24 and the Taunton River. Its central focus is the triangular town common, bounded by Main, Locust, and Porter Streets. The common is flanked by a number municipal and civic buildings, and has been the town's focus of civic life for more about 275 years.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The Berkley State Forest is a small tract of forest land located near Route 24 in Berkley, Massachusetts in Dighton Rock State Park. It is owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and operated by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The Three Mile River or Threemile River is a river in Bristol County, Massachusetts. It is formed by the junction of the Rumford and Wading rivers in the town of Norton. It flows in a southeasterly direction for 13.5 miles (21.7 km) through the towns of Norton, Taunton and Dighton, where it joins the Taunton River.On August 25, 2008, the Three Mile Watershed was designated an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). The ACEC designation imparts certain protections and restrictions within a designated area relating to new development and other human activities.

The third Berkley–Dighton Bridge was a paved one-lane swing-span bridge connecting the towns of Berkley and Dighton, Massachusetts. Built in 1896, it was the third at that location, and was demolished in September and October 2010. Bridges at this location are the only crossing over the Taunton River between the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Fall River and the Weir Street Bridge in Taunton.

The fourth Berkley–Dighton Bridge is a four-span concrete arch bridge with closed spandrel walls of cast-in-place concrete, using pile-supported abutments and piers. The bridge was made such that it appears to be constructed of stone masonry rather than concrete. The two end spans are 74 feet (23 m) and the two center spans are 92 feet (28 m) for a total bridge length of approximately 350 feet (110 m).Bridges at this location are the only crossing over the Taunton River between the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Fall River and the Weir Street Bridge in Taunton. Beginning in August 2010, a temporary bridge was in place while the new bridge was being built. Construction on the bridge began in July 2012. The new bridge opened to traffic on August 28, 2015.

East Taunton station is an under-construction MBTA Commuter Rail station in East Taunton, Massachusetts adjacent to the interchange between the Route 24 expressway and County Street (Route 140). It is planned to open in mid-2024 as part of the first phase of the South Coast Rail project. A former East Taunton station, located to the east on a different line, was served by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad and several predecessors until 1927. In 2009, South Coast Rail planning identified Taunton Depot, just north of Middleborough Junction (Cotley Junction), as a preferred station site. A 2017 re-evaluation of the project recommended an interim route through Middleborough, with East Taunton station located just south of the junction. A construction contract was issued in 2020.

The Peter Walker House is a historic colonial house located at 1679 Somerset Avenue in Taunton, Massachusetts.

The Theodore L. Marvel House is a historic house located at 188 Berkley Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. It was built in 1883 in a shingle style and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The irregularly-shaped house features a hipped gable roof and varied wall surface of fieldstone and shingles. Among its most dominant elements are its boldly-arched fieldstone porch, varied fenestration, and connected Shingle Style barn, with sweeping roof, eyebrow windows and large arched entrance, constructed of fieldstone. It is sited on a large landscaped estate.

The Silver City Galleria was an enclosed, two-level, super-regional mall located off Route 24 and Route 140 in Taunton, Massachusetts, United States. It covered a leasable area of over 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2), and served multiple cities and towns in the region. It was demolished in 2021. The mall's facilities included 120 retail stores, 8 anchors, 33 customer services, a ten-screen cinema, 6 sit-down restaurants, 6 specialty eateries, an arcade, a food court, a center court, and a children's play area. IPC International managed security, and UGL's Unicco managed facilities services.Anchor tenants included Sears, JCPenney, Macy's, Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods, Regal Cinemas, Lechmere and Round One Entertainment. The mall also planned for a Jordan Marsh to be added between the cinema and Filene's (later Macy's). The plan for the Jordan Marsh was scrapped after Macy's bought the company. An empty hallway with a window at the end of it on the second floor is where the Jordan Marsh was going to be.

Weir Village (also known as "The Weir") is a village of the city of Taunton in Bristol County, Massachusetts, located about one mile south of the city center on the banks of the Taunton River, near the point where it becomes tidal. The village takes its name from fishing weirs which were placed across the Taunton River from pre-colonial times until the early 20th century, to catch herring (also known as "alewifes"). While much of the commercial part of the village lies on the west side of the river, along Weir Street , a dense residential area extends in an easterly direction across the river along Plain and Berkley Streets.

The Old Weir Stove Company was an historic industrial facility located on West Water Street in Weir Village, Taunton, Massachusetts. The factory consisted of a series of connected brick buildings, located between West Water Street and the west bank of the Taunton River. The factory was built in 1902 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was later occupied by F.B. Rogers Silver Company. In May–June 2009, the site was demolished, except for the northernmost building of the complex.The Weir Stove Company was originally located on the west side of West Water Street, but expanded to this site in 1902. The company was later known as the Glenwood Stove Company. The company produced a stove called the "Glenwood Range", and contributed to the city's prominence as a leading center of stove manufacturing. The buildings were built using fairly typical period mill construction and styling, with load-bearing brick walls, low-pitch gable roofs, and arched paired windows. The complex was the largest and most impressive in the Weir Village area.

Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School is a vocational high school located in Taunton, Massachusetts, United States, that has been in operation since September 1972. Bristol-Plymouth is one of the three high schools in the city of Taunton, and enrolls roughly 1,200 students in grades 9 through 12. The school draws students from the towns and cities of Bridgewater, Raynham, Berkley, Taunton, Rehoboth, Middleboro, and Dighton. Because it is considered to be its own school district, it has an on-site superintendent as well as a principal and vice principal. The school colors are dark blue, light blue and silver. The athletic teams are known as the Craftsmen In 2017 the Bristol-Plymouth Football team came in first place in the Mayflower Athletic Conference.
