Waldorf, Maryland

Thomas Stone High School is a public high school in the eastern section of Waldorf, Maryland, United States, administered by the Charles County Board of Education. The school colors are blue and gold and its mascot is the cougar. It was named after Thomas Stone, a Maryland representative in the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

St. Charles Towne Center is a two-level, enclosed shopping mall in the planned community of St. Charles in Waldorf, Maryland. Built in the late 1980s, it covers an area of 980,418 sq ft (91,083.8 m2), and is currently the only regional mall in Southern Maryland. In addition to Waldorf and St. Charles, the mall also serves the southern suburbs of Washington, D.C., and has a trade area population of 338,502. Anchor stores are Dick's Sporting Goods, J. C. Penney, Kohl's, Macy's, and Macy's Home Store.

St. Peter's School is a Catholic school located in Waldorf, Maryland. Founded in 1956 by Rev. Henry Sank, it was the first Catholic school in Southern Maryland that was never racially segregated. St. Peter's School is a part of the St. Peter's Catholic Church community and an Archdiocese of Washington Catholic School; it currently offers classes for students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

St. Charles is a planned community in Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is 22 miles (35 km) south-southeast of Washington, D.C., 24 miles (39 km) from northern Virginia and immediately south of Waldorf, which is the mailing address. (St. Charles comprises nearly all the population of Waldorf's zip code 20602, and much of 20603). At the 2000 census, it was delineated as a census-designated place (CDP), with a population of 33,379. It was included in the Waldorf CDP for the 2010 census.

The Chapel of the Incarnation is an L-shaped church building of the Mission style. It is located at 14070 Brandywine Rd., Brandywine, Prince George's County, Maryland.The cornerstone was laid in September 1916, and the chapel opened for Mass early in 1917. The chapel's architect, William J. Palmer, who designed numerous residences and churches in Washington, D.C., prepared the plans and specifications for the church and attached Parish Hall. The Mission style may have been deemed appropriate to the church's status as a "mission chapel," or offshoot, of St. Thomas' Church in Croom, Maryland.The chapel is constructed of poured-in-form concrete covered with a coarse pebble-filled stucco to resemble adobe. It is a one-story cross-gabled building with the entrance through the lower-gabled narthex. The structure is highlighted by a shaped parapet and bell tower. The interior is distinguished by its original altar balustrade and pulpit, and an ancient stone baptismal font brought from a church in England.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

White Plains is an unincorporated community in Charles County, Maryland, in the United States, just south of Waldorf. It is at latitude 38°35'25" N, longitude 76°56'26" W. The United States Postal Service has assigned White Plains the ZIP Code 20695. The commercial portion of White Plains lies along U.S. Route 301. The area is experiencing population sprawl from the adjacent unincorporated communities of Waldorf and St. Charles and features new office parks and a scenic new rail trail. The Charles County Department of Health is headquartered in White Plains, and a public golf course is also there. Plans to complete an east–west connector road in the area were mired in controversy because of alleged adverse effects on the environment. The historic home Spye Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The William W. Early House is a Queen Anne-style house located at Brandywine in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, and is privately owned. It was constructed in 1907. According to a 1989 Historic American Buildings Survey report on the house, "The William W. Early House is probably the best example of turn-of-the-century Queen Anne-style domestic architecture in the county."
