St. Charles Towne Center

St. Charles is a planned community in Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is 22 miles (35 km) south-southeast of Washington, D.C., 24 miles (39 km) from northern Virginia and immediately south of Waldorf, which is the mailing address. (St. Charles comprises nearly all the population of Waldorf's zip code 20602, and much of 20603). At the 2000 census, it was delineated as a census-designated place (CDP), with a population of 33,379. It was included in the Waldorf CDP for the 2010 census.

White Plains is an unincorporated community in Charles County, Maryland, in the United States, just south of Waldorf. It is at latitude 38°35'25" N, longitude 76°56'26" W. The United States Postal Service has assigned White Plains the ZIP Code 20695. The commercial portion of White Plains lies along U.S. Route 301. The area is experiencing population sprawl from the adjacent unincorporated communities of Waldorf and St. Charles and features new office parks and a scenic new rail trail. The Charles County Department of Health is headquartered in White Plains, and a public golf course is also there. Plans to complete an east–west connector road in the area were mired in controversy because of alleged adverse effects on the environment. The historic home Spye Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Westlake High School is a secondary school located in the west central section of Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland.

Spye Park is a historic home located at White Plains, Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is a modestly scaled, 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay frame Colonial dwelling built about 1767. The house's present plan and appearance is the result of a series of 19th- and early-20th-century alterations to the original structure, which was a rectangular, one-room-deep building with end chimneys. Also on the property is a timber-framed tobacco barn, a former animal barn, a cornhouse, a poultry house/machine shed, and a wellhouse.Spye Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Waldorf is a census-designated place in Charles County, Maryland, United States. Located 23 miles (37 km) south-southeast of Washington, D.C., Waldorf is part of Southern Maryland. Its population was 81,410 at the 2020 census, making it the fourth-most populous community in the state. Waldorf has experienced dramatic growth, increasing its population 16-fold from fewer than 5,000 residents in 1980 to its current population. It is now the largest commercial and residential area in Southern Maryland as well as a major suburb in the Washington metropolitan area.

Thomas Stone High School is a public high school in the eastern section of Waldorf, Maryland, United States, administered by the Charles County Board of Education. The school colors are blue and gold and its mascot is the cougar. It was named after Thomas Stone, a Maryland representative in the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

North Point High School is a school for career and technology education (formerly science, technology, and industry). It is located in the far western area of Waldorf, Maryland, United States. At 311,000 square feet (28,900 m2) and with about 2,000 students enrolled, it is the largest high school in Charles County. It is also the second newest high school, having opened in 2005. Its mascot, the Eagle, was derived from the motto of Charles County, "The wild side of the Potomac... Where eagles soar!" Unlike most other high schools, which have all eight class periods per day, North Point operates on a unique four-block A/B day schedule (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A on A days and 1B, 2B, 3B and 4B on B days), A days and B days occur every other day of the week, which allows for longer 1 hour and 20 minute class periods, rather than the standard 50 minute period in other schools. At the start of the week, it would either be an A day or B day, depending on what day the previous Friday was (example: If Friday was a B day, Monday would be an A day). Classes begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 2:50 p.m. every day.

Regency Furniture Stadium is a 4,200-seat baseball park in Waldorf, Maryland that hosted its first regular season baseball game on May 2, 2008, as the tenants of the facility, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers, 3–2. For the 2010 baseball season, the collegiate summer Southern Maryland Nationals of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League will play select games at the venue. The CRSCBL previously used Regency Furniture for the Mid-Atlantic Classic (see below). With the groundbreaking for Southern Maryland's new stadium, a local company, Regency Furniture, purchased the naming rights for $2.88 million over 10 years.Regency Furniture Stadium is capped by sloping red roofs, similar to the architecture of Churchill Downs, designed to pay homage to the Southern Maryland region's tobacco barns. The left field wall of the ballpark bears a door that allows players to enter the field from the locker room, modeled after the Green Monster at Fenway Park.

Danville is an unincorporated community in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. It is located within the Brandywine mailing address, and consists of only farms, with no businesses, and a very small housing development which began in 2009.

St. Peter's School is a Catholic school located in Waldorf, Maryland. Founded in 1956 by Rev. Henry Sank, it was the first Catholic school in Southern Maryland that was never racially segregated. St. Peter's School is a part of the St. Peter's Catholic Church community and an Archdiocese of Washington Catholic School; it currently offers classes for students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

Oak Grove is a historic home located at La Plata, Charles County, Maryland, United States. It was built in the early Federal style about 1800, and is a one-story, two part brick house of Flemish bond masonry. Two outbuildings date from the 19th century: a small frame dependency built about 1830, and a small corncrib with flanking sheds. Believed to be contemporary in age with the house, it was extensively renovated and partially rebuilt at various times in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The property was originally part of Green's Inheritance.Oak Grove was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Pleasant Hill is a historic home located near Pomfret, Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay Tidewater house constructed between 1761 and 1995. The house illustrates the characteristic pattern of homes from small one- and two-room 18th-century dwellings into the larger houses that survive today.Pleasant Hill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
