Brown Herman (sometimes referred to as 'Herman Brown') is a northwest central neighborhood located just west of downtown Austin, Texas. It is often included within the boundaries of Tarrytown or Bryker Woods.

All Faiths Chapel, previously known as Chapel for the Children, is an interfaith house of worship and historical landmark in Austin, Texas. It is on the grounds of the Austin State Supported Living Center (AusSSLC), a facility for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities, which was known at the time of the chapel's construction as the Austin State School.As of May 9, 2022, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its importance in architectural, disability, and social history.

The Mayfield–Gutsch Estate, now named Mayfield Park, is a historic cottage, gardens and nature preserve in west Austin, Texas on a bluff overlooking Lake Austin. Originally built in the 1870s, the cottage was purchased by former Texas Secretary of State Allison Mayfield in 1909. In 1922, the house passed to Mayfield's daughter, Mary Frances, and her husband, University of Texas professor Milton Gutsch. They expanded the home, adding porches on three sides and, with the help of gardener Esteban Arredondo, greatly developed 2 acres (0.81 ha) of the property around their home into a botanical garden surrounded by a rock perimeter wall. When Mary Mayfield Gutsch died in 1971, the home and grounds were left to the City of Austin for use as a park. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 29, 1994. Mayfield Park is open to the public and is known for its free roaming peacocks on the property. The cottage and gardens can be reserved for private events. The grounds are immediately adjacent to Laguna Gloria, home to the Austin Museum of Art.

The Contemporary Austin, originally known as the Austin Museum of Art, is Austin, Texas's primary contemporary art museum, consisting of two locations and an art school. The Contemporary Austin reflects the spectrum of contemporary art through exhibitions, commissions, education, and the collection. Locally, the museum is often referred to as The Contemporary.

The Contemporary Austin - Laguna Gloria, formerly known as the AMOA-Arthouse at Laguna Gloria, is the former home of Clara Driscoll and site of a 1916 Italianate-style villa on the shores of Lake Austin in Austin, Texas. It was the original home of the Austin Museum of Art and still houses some of its collections. The building is now one of two sites of The Contemporary Austin. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Lions Municipal Golf Course, nicknamed Muny, is a municipal golf course at 2901 Enfield Road in Austin, Texas. The golf course occupies 141 acres of land the City of Austin leases from the University of Texas since 1937 as part of the greater Brackenridge Tract. The golf course has been subject to ongoing controversy due to the recommended termination of the current term by the University of Texas in 2019. Along with several other golf courses in Austin, the fast growth of the city has made the current facility unsustainable.

The Keith House in Austin, Texas is a historic home in the Pemberton Heights neighborhood in central Austin. The home was built in 1933 by local builder William Dixon Anderson for his sister, Maggie Mae Keith, and her husband, Jacque Nicholas Keith. It features elements of the Monterey Revival and Colonial Revival styles, popular at the time.The home is located at 2400 Harris Blvd. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Texas Military Forces Museum (officially the Brigadier General John C.L. Scribner Texas Military Forces Museum) is a history museum in Austin, Texas. It is hosted by the Texas Military Department at Camp Mabry and is part of the United States Army Historical Program.It is open to the public Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-4pm CST. Admission is free. Access to Camp Mabry requires a government issued identification, such as a driver's license, passport, or common access card. Approximately 159,000 tourists visited from 1992-2007.The museum's stated mission is "to tell the story of the Texas Military Forces from 1823 through the present and into the future, support the mission of the Texas Military Forces, honor our veterans, educate our fellow citizens, promote espirit d' corps among the men and women of the Texas Military Forces, and inspire youth to serve."As of 2018, the 45,000 sqft museum has indoor and outdoor galleries featuring 24 major exhibits, which includes over 10,000 artifacts, 36 vehicles, 8 dioramas, 16 macro environments, 16 macro artifacts, and over 50 uniformed mannequins. The library and archive features over 10,000 books and 20,000 photos available for research.

Tom Miller Dam is a dam located on the Colorado River within the city limits of Austin, Texas, United States. The City of Austin, aided by funds from the Public Works Administration, constructed the dam for the purpose of flood control and for generating hydroelectric power. Named after Robert Thomas Miller, a former Mayor of Austin, the dam forms Lake Austin, one of the Texas Highland Lakes. The dam began operating in 1940 and is located at the site of the city's two previous dams, each of which were destroyed during major floods and shared the same name, Austin Dam. It is currently leased to the Lower Colorado River Authority, who maintains and operates the dam.

Lake Austin, formerly Lake McDonald, is a water reservoir on the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. The reservoir was formed in 1939 by the construction of Tom Miller Dam by the Lower Colorado River Authority. Lake Austin is one of the seven Highland Lakes created by the LCRA, and is used for flood control, electrical power generation, and recreation.

Woodlawn, also known as the Pease Mansion as well as Governor Shiver's Mansion, is a pre-Civil War mansion located at 30.2871° -97.7581° in Austin, Texas. The Greek Revival style house was owned by two Texas governors. Some notable people that have visited the mansion include Sam Houston, General George Custer, Elisabet Ney, Will Rogers, and Edith Head. Woodlawn was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 25, 1970.

The Brackenridge Field Laboratory (BFL) is an urban research station owned by the University of Texas at Austin. Established officially in 1967, it contains 82 acres of land and research infrastructure. It is dedicated to studies in biology. The extensive historical data kept about its diverse habitats has been important to the study of biodiversity, ecological succession and ecology. Some of the key studies into the red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta) and potential biocontrol agents such as phorid flies have originated at the field station. It also contains the second largest insect collection in Texas. Since 1973 the Brackenridge Field Laboratory has been a subject of controversy due to the high value of the land.In 1910, George Washington Brackenridge donated 500 acres (2.0 km2) located on the Colorado River to the university. The Brackenridge Field Laboratory was established on 82 acres (330,000 m2) of the land in 1967. A satellite field station in Bastrop County (Stengl Lost Pines Biological Station) is also available for biological research and teaching.
