Wayne, Maine

The Wayne Town House is a historic town hall on Maine State Route 133 in Wayne, Maine. Built in 1840, it is one of the state's little-altered examples of a period town hall building, retaining a number of distinctive features, including benches for sex-segregated seating. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Wing Family Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Wayne, Maine. Established as a family cemetery in 1867, it is one of the state's most distinctive small cemeteries, organized with concentric circles around a central monument. The cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Androscoggin Yacht Club is a private recreational and social club at 22 Lake Street in Wayne, Maine, on the shore of Androscoggin Lake. Founded in 1909, the club provides access to a beach and docks, and has a clubhouse available for the use of its members. The clubhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, for its architecture and for the role the club played in the development of the region as a summer tourist destination.

Camp Androscoggin is an all-boys summer camp in Wayne, Maine, and one of the oldest in the state. It is ACA (American Camp Association) accredited. It was founded in 1907 by Edward M. Healy, a Department Head at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Healy became President of the American Camping Association (ACA) in 1916 shortly before his death. The camp has an average intake of between 250 and 280 boys aged 8 to 15 years, and takes enrollments nationally and internationally.

Androscoggin Lake is a body of water located in the towns of Wayne and Leeds, Maine. The surface area of the lake is 3,826 acres (1,548 ha). Its greatest length is 4.5 mi (7.2 km) and its greatest width is 2.8 mi (4.5 km). The lake is very shallow with a mean depth of 15 ft (4.6 m) and maximum depth of 38 ft (12 m). The lake temperature is therefore quite warm during summer, and the temperature is the same on the bottom as it is on the top, making it a homothermous body of water. There are 4 islands on the lake: Androscoggin Island, Blodgett Island, Lothrop Island and Norris Island. Norris Island has a cabin that can be reserved for free on tklt.org. The islands support a diverse assemblage of rare species and natural communities. The most extensive areas are along and around the Dead River, which connects the lake to the Androscoggin River. The islands also provide important nesting habitat for bald eagles, ospreys and great blue herons. Lothrop Island's black sand beaches are of geological interest and are also home to several rare plants.

Kent Burying Ground is a historic cemetery at the corner of Fayette Corner Road and Oak Hill Road in Fayette, Maine. Established in 1880 by Elias Kent, it is unusual for its layout of concentric rings around a central monument, only known in one other cemetery in the state, the Wing Family Cemetery in nearby Wayne. The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

The Joseph H. Underwood House is a historic house at 1957 Main Street in Fayette, Maine. Built in 1837, this large brick house was built for Joseph H. Underwood, one of the small community's leading businessmen and politicians of the first half of the 19th century. Underwood owned a mill and other local business, and served in town offices and the state legislature. His house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Starling Grange, now Starling Hall, is an historic former Grange hall at 2769 Main Street (ME 17) in Fayette, Maine, US. Built in 1879, it has been a fixture of the community since then. The Grange chapter disbanded in 1987, and the building has since then been owned by the town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Mount Pisgah is a mountain located in the town of Winthrop, Maine. Its summit is the fifth highest in Kennebec County. A popular hiking loop, made up of the .7 mile Tower Trail and 1.3 mile Blueberry Trail, provides access to a fire tower at the top of Mount Pisgah. The tower offers a 360° view reaching from the Camden Hills in the East to New Hampshire's Mount Washington in the West.

Kents Hill School (also known as Kents Hill or KHS) is a co-educational, independent college-preparatory school for boarding and day students. Kents Hill is located in Kents Hill, Maine, 12 miles west of the state capital of Augusta. It is the 30th oldest boarding school in the United States and one of the oldest continuously operating co-educational college preparatory schools. One of the three oldest Methodist academies in the United States (with Cazenovia Seminary and Wilbraham Academy), the school is now a member of the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE) and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
