East Winthrop is a village in the town of Winthrop in Kennebec County, Maine, United States. It is located just west of Manchester and south of Readfield, borders most of Cobbosseecontee Lake, and all of Little Cobbosseecontee, Upper and Lower Narrows. It has a separate post office and ZIP code (04343) from the rest of Winthrop, although this serves only mail delivered to post office boxes in the East Winthrop Post Office. The area has magnificent views of the Cobbosseecontee bodies of water.

WABK-FM (104.3 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Gardiner, Maine, and serving Augusta and Central Maine. It airs a classic hits radio format. WABK-FM is part of a three-way simulcast with WBAK (104.7 FM) in Belfast and WBKA (107.7 FM) Bar Harbor. They are owned by Blueberry Broadcasting with studios and offices on Target Industrial Circle in Bangor.WABK-FM has an effective radiated power of 50,000 watts. Its transmitter is off Winthrop Street in Hallowell.

The Moses Bailey House is a historic house at 209 Winthrop Center Road in the Winthrop Center village of Winthrop, Maine. Built about 1853, with additional Italianate styling added in 1870, it is one of Winthrop's finest surviving mid 19th-century farm houses. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It has been divided into apartments and is known as Bailey Manor.

The Jesse Lee Church is a historic church at Maine State Route 27 and Plains Road in Readfield, Maine. Built in 1795 through the missionary work of Jesse Lee, it is the oldest surviving Methodist church in the state of Maine. It is still used seasonally for services, organized by the Readfield United Methodist Church. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Bank of Maine Ice Vault is an indoor ice arena located in Hallowell, Maine. It is the home of the Maine Moose ice hockey team which plays in the Northern States Junior Hockey League, and the Skating Association of Maine. The arena stands on the site of a prior arena, called the Kennebec Ice Arena. It was built in 1973 and collapsed under the weight of snow on March 2, 2011.The Maine Moose played their first home game in the new arena against the New York Aviators on October 19, 2012.

Narrows Pond is actually two small twin lakes in Winthrop, Maine. They are Upper and Lower Narrows Pond, and are divided by a very narrow isthmus, hence the name. The isthmus is traversed by Narrows Pond Road, and a culvert connects the two lakes. People in canoes or kayaks can travel between the two lakes, though only by ducking first. Upper Narrows Pond covers 222 acres (90 ha) with a mean depth of 25 feet (7.6 m) and a maximum depth of 59 feet (18 m). The volume of Upper Narrows is 4,953 acre-feet (6,109,000 m3). Both lakes' shores are lined with cottages, most of them summer residences. Seaplanes are allowed to land and take off from the Upper Pond. A Methodist summer camp is located on the Lower Pond.

Augusta State Airport (IATA: AUG, ICAO: KAUG, FAA LID: AUG) is a public use airport located one nautical mile (2 km) west of the central business district of the state capital of Augusta, a city in Kennebec County, Maine, United States. The airport is owned by the state of Maine, but managed and operated by the city of Augusta. It is served by one commercial airline, with scheduled passenger service subsidized by the Essential Air Service program. As per the Federal Aviation Administration, this airport had 3,554 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 3,663 in 2009, and 4,300 in 2010. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a non-primary commercial service facility.

The Hallowell Powder House is a historic military storage facility on High Street in Hallowell, Maine. Built in 1819, it is one of three documented early 19th-century arms magazines in the state. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 as the Powder House Lot.

The Maine Industrial School for Girls, also once known as the Stevens School and the State School for Girls in Hallowell, is a former juvenile detention and education facility on Winthrop Street in Hallowell, Maine. The school operated from its founding in 1874 until the mid-1970s. Its campus, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, housed a variety of state offices, and a state Department of Corrections pre-release center until 2003 when the state put the complex up for sale and began moving offices off campus. The site remained unsold until 2016, when it was purchased by Mastway Development, LLC of Winthrop, Maine. Since then the main building has been completely renovated to serve as a 36 bed student dormitory for the University of Maine at Augusta which opened in August 2019.

The Augusta Civic Center is a convention center located in Augusta, Maine. It has a total of 49,000 square feet (4,600 m2) and 26 rooms. The main room is 32,000 sq ft (3,000 m2). The facility includes a main auditorium, two ballrooms, and 23 meeting rooms and full catering services. The arena can host many events such as concerts, gatherings and sporting events.

The University of Maine at Augusta (UMaine Augusta or UMA) is a public college in Augusta, Maine. It is part of the University of Maine System. UMA provides baccalaureate and select associate degrees for residents of Central Maine. The university has campuses in Augusta and Bangor, and courses offered online and across the state.
