Westgarth railway station is located on the Hurstbridge line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the north-eastern Melbourne suburb of Northcote, and opened on 8 May 1888 as Westgarth Street. It was renamed Northcote South on 1 August 1888, and Westgarth on 10 December 1906.

The Westgarth Theatre is a heritage-listed movie theatre in the Westgarth neighbourhood of Northcote in Melbourne, Australia. It is the oldest continually-operating, purpose-built cinema in the city.

Electoral district of Clifton Hill was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria. It centred on the north-eastern Melbourne suburb of Clifton Hill.

Platform Youth Theatre was a theatre company for 16- to 26-year-olds based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. that was operational for eighteen years from 1998-2016. The Company was reflective of the cultural melting pot of the Darebin area, and was originally a program within the Darebin Council. It had a diversity of participants in its programs and a commitment to including marginalised young people (recent migrants, young people with disabilities and at risk youth) and a youth governance model. Platform operated programs that dealt with multiple facets of the performing arts. These programs varied from group learning models to one-on-one mentorships, and were facilitated by professional artists from the Australian theatre industry. Platform's first production was in 1998. The company combined an inclusive cultural development process with the creation of art. The public performance outcomes of all Platform's programs gave young people a voice. Platform was awarded Australian Writers Guild Awards and Green Room Award nominations.

Bill Lawry Oval, formerly known as Northcote Park, is a cricket and Australian rules football stadium located on Westgarth St, Northcote, Victoria. It is most notable as the home ground of the Northcote Cricket Club in the Victorian Premier Cricket, and of the Northcote Football Club in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). Northcote Park was established as a public recreation reserve in the 1860s. However, its location near Merri Creek was relatively distant from the main town, meaning it was neither well patronised nor well maintained during the 19th century, and Croxton Park was the town's favoured venue for sports. After improvements to the ground in the early 1900s, the Northcote Football Club, then playing in the Victorian Junior Football Association, and the Northcote Cricket Club, which was soon a member of the Victorian District Cricket competition both began playing at Northcote Park from 1904. In 1908, the football club (at that stage playing in the Victorian Football Association) returned to Croxton Park from 1909 until 1914; then, returned to Northcote Park in 1915 after the main grandstand was opened. The last of these moves was controversial within the club and resulted in a split of the committee of the Northcote Football Club, after which a splinter group established an entirely new rival club which remained at Croxton Park.The Northcote Football Club remained at the venue from 1915 until it folded at the end of the 1987 season. The Fitzroy Football Club of the Victorian Football League utilised the venue for training (but not for matches) for a few years after being evicted from the Junction Oval at the end of 1984. In 1989, after Fitzroy had departed and Northcote had folded, the Northcote Park Football Club of the Diamond Valley Football League moved to the venue to become its winter football tenant. The Darebin Falcons began using the venue for its VFLW matches from 2018. The Northcote Cricket Club has remained the venue's primary summer cricket tenant to the present day. In 2000, the oval was renamed in honour of Victorian and Australian cricket captain Bill Lawry, who played his district cricket for Northcote.

Merri railway station is located on the Mernda line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the north-eastern Melbourne suburb of Northcote, and it opened on 8 October 1889 as Northcote. It was renamed Merri on 10 December 1906.

The Northcote Theatre is a live music venue located in Northcote, Victoria, in a heritage listed former cinema. The building is notable for being the oldest purpose built cinema in Melbourne, which opened in 1912 as the Northcote Picture Theatre. It was previously a dance studio and reception centre, before it was converted into a music venue in 2022. Since opening, international acts have played at the theatre, including Charli XCX, Bright Eyes, and 100 Gecs.

Batman's Treaty was an agreement between John Batman, an Australian grazier, businessman and coloniser, and a group of Wurundjeri elders, for the purchase of land around Port Phillip, near the present site of Melbourne. The document came to be known as Batman's Treaty and is considered significant as it was the first and only documented time when Europeans negotiated their presence and occupation of Aboriginal lands directly with the traditional owners. The treaty was implicitly declared void on 26 August 1835 by the Governor of New South Wales, Richard Bourke.

Northcote ( (listen)) is an inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 7 km (4.3 mi) north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Darebin local government area. Northcote recorded a population of 25,276 at the 2021 census.

Elysium (also known as 54 Clarke) was a proposed residential skyscraper to be located in the Southbank precinct of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Despite receiving planning approval in 2013, the proposed skyscraper was scrapped in 2019. The project was developed by the Melbourne-based Matrix & Cube group and designed by BKK Architects. Rising to a height of 243.8 m (800 ft), Elysium would have contained up to 288 residential apartments, across 75 levels; this would have made it one of the tallest buildings in Melbourne. Its design was notable for a slender appearance – with a width of 12 m (39 ft) at its narrowest – which had earned it a reputation for being one of the "skinniest skyscraper (proposals)" in Melbourne. First proposed in 2011, Elysium received approval twice in 2013 by then-Planning Minister Matthew Guy; initially in February, 2013, which was later challenged through Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), and then subsequently in December, 2013. In 2019, the proposed skyscraper was cancelled, with plans resubmitted for a high-rise residential building of 24 levels.
