Trefnant railway station

Holy Trinity Church is a Grade II* listed building in Trefnant, Denbighshire, Wales. It forms part of a group of listed structures in the village, including a parsonage and school, that were designed by George Gilbert Scott and which are recognised as a significant parochial architectural group.The church was designed by George Gilbert Scott and constructed between 1853-1855 to commemorate the life of John Lloyd Salusbury of Galltfaenan Hall. The works are variously said to have been financed by his two daughters, Mrs Townsend Mainwaring and Mrs Charles Mainwaring, and by the former's husband, Townshend Mainwaring. Giles Gilbert Scott designed a vestry for the church in 1907, which was financed by Charles Salusbury Mainwaring, an heir to Townshend.Scott senior was also responsible for the design of the parsonage for Holy Trinity, which was constructed in 1860 on land donated by Townshend Mainwaring and is Grade II listed in its own right. The same year saw the construction of Scott's school design in the village, again substantially supported by Townshend Mainwaring; the school opened in February 1861 and is Grade II listed, as is the attached Scott-designed schoolhouse.

Trefnant is a village and community in Denbighshire, Wales. It is located on the A525 road in the Vale of Clwyd (Dyffryn Clwyd), about halfway between St Asaph (Llanelwy) to the north and Denbigh to the south. At the 2001 Census, the community had a population of 1,409, increasing to 1,581 at the 2011 Census.Holy Trinity Church, designed by George Gilbert Scott, is a Grade II* listed building in the village. Welsh language author and polemicist Emrys ap Iwan was a minister at Trefnant at the end of the 19th century.Green Methodist Chapel was built in 1824. Built in the simple Gothic style, gable entry type.Trefnant used to have a football team called Trefnant Village FC. They dropped out of the Clwyd League due to a cash crisis. They have a Summer league team which won the first summer title in 1927 and they last won a trophy in 2004, the shield, beating Henllan in the final.

Llanerch Hall, Trefnant, Clwyd, Wales, is a country house with medieval origins. It was rebuilt twice at the beginning and at the end of the 17th century, was again rebuilt in the 19th century, and further modified in the 20th. The hall is now divided into flats, each with its own Grade II* listing. The parkland, now a golf course, conceals traces of a late 17th century Italianate terraced garden that rivalled those at Powis Castle. The gardens were entirely destroyed in the 19th century rebuilding. The house remains privately owned.

Llannerch railway station was a private railway station on the Vale of Clwyd Railway. It was located close to Llannerch Hall, the home of Whitehall Dod who was a director of the Vale of Clwyd Railway company. From the opening of the line in October 1858 Dod had the right to stop trains for his use at this location until December 1871 when Dod's privilege expired, the railway having been acquired by the London & North Western Railway in 1867.

The Vale of Clwyd (Welsh: Dyffryn Clwyd) is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Plas Clough is a country house and Grade II* listed building at Denbigh, North Wales, built by Sir Richard Clough and begun about 1567. Just to the north of the built-up area of Denbigh, one mile from the town centre, the house is set back on the west side of the A525 road to St Asaph, on a slight rise, about one mile south of Trefnant, and is surrounded by park land.

Waen is a sparsely populated community in the Vale of Clwyd, in the Welsh county of Denbighshire. It includes the hamlet of Waen Goleugoed. The former civil parish was created in 1896 from the Flintshire portion of St Asaph, and lies on the eastern bank of the River Clwyd, 2.7 miles (4.3 km) east of St Asaph, 15.4 miles (24.8 km) north west of Mold, 5.1 miles (8.2 km) north of Denbigh and 11.9 miles (19.2 km) north of Ruthin. At the 2001 census the community had a population of 245, falling slightly to 241 at the 2011 census. The North Wales Expressway (A55) crosses the community from east to west, on its route from Chester to Bangor. The farmhouse at Bodeugan, in the north of the community, dates from the 17th century, and is Grade II* listed. The Flintshire county archives at Hawarden contain a letter dated Christmas 1812, in which the then tenant, Robert Roberts, complained that the house was bewitched, recounting a series of poltergeist activity in which stones, coals, dung and water were thrown at the inhabitants, windows were broken and milk churns smashed. On Christmas Eve, the spirit was claimed to have thrown the servants out of their beds. Pont Dafydd, built in 1630 across the River Clwyd, but now standing in a field since the river was diverted, is an ancient monument and is Grade II listed.

H.M. Stanley Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty H.M. Stanley) was a community hospital in St Asaph, Wales. It was managed by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. It served as the headquarters of the Welsh Ambulance Service until 2019.

The Vale of Clwyd (Welsh: Dyffryn Clwyd) is a constituency of the House of Commons of the UK Parliament created in 1997 and represented since 2019 by James Davies of the Conservative Party. As with all extant seats its electorate elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system at least every five years. The Vale of Clwyd Senedd constituency was created with the same boundaries in 1999 (as an Assembly constituency). The constituency is set to be abolished, as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election. Its wards is to be split between Clwyd East and Clwyd North.

Wigfair Hall is a large country house standing in an elevated position above the River Elwy near the village of Cefn Meiriadog, Denbighshire, Wales. It is a Grade II* listed building.In 2017 Wigfair Hall was renovated and is now primarily used as a special event and wedding venue.

St Asaph railway station served the city of St Asaph in Denbighshire, Wales. It was opened by the Vale of Clwyd Railway (later absorbed into the London and North Western Railway) on 5 October 1858 and closed on 19 September 1955. The station building and northbound platform are now a private residence.

Denbigh railway station served the town of Denbigh in Wales. It closed in 1962. The only remains of the station are sections of platform edge.The Vale of Clwyd Railway had used a temporary stop at Denbigh from 1858 until their station buildings, which also housed their headquarters, were constructed. The station was designed, along with several other stations on the line, by the local firm of Lloyd Williams and Underwood. It opened in December 1860 and was for some time the terminus of the railway, until the line extension to Ruthin opened in 1862.The Tudor Gothic-style station building, which incorporated accommodation on the first-floor for the station master, primarily used limestone, with detailing such as around the doors, windows and chimneys being of freestone. The booking and left luggage offices were placed centrally, and there were three waiting rooms - a general room, one for ladies travelling first-class and another for those ladies travelling second-class. There was an initially single platform, partly sheltered by a roof supported by cast iron columns. That platform was extended in 1885 and altered also to allow trains to stop regardless of their direction of travel.
