Nyboda depot (in Swedish: Nybodadepån or Nybodahallen) is a garage/depot for subway trains and buses of Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL), located in Liljeholmen, Stockholm Municipality, along Hägerstensvägen and under Essingeleden. Nybodadepån is connected with Liljeholmen metro station via a bridge over Hägerstensvägen and a tunnel in the mountain under Nybohov. Nybodadepån started operations for buses and trams in 1945, then called Brännkyrkahallen. 1963–64, it was rebuilt to be adapted for the cars of Stockholm Metro. It could house 30 railway cars on four tracks in a bus garage and another 64 on four tracks in two rock tunnels. 2001–2002, it was rebuilt to be adapted for the new C20 metro cars and was further upgraded to C30s in 2019.Around 100 persons are employed at the depot, which is one of five depots serving the Stockholm metro system.

Liljeholmen is a Stockholm metro station in the city's southern Liljeholmen district. It is on the Red line (T13 and T14). The station is also an interchange with the Tvärbanan tramway, and a bus terminal. Liljeholmen metro station is also connected to Nybodadepån, a depot/garage for subway trains and buses, which is located in the south part of Liljeholmen. Liljeholmen was opened on 5 April 1964 as part of the first stretch of the Red line, between T-Centralen and Fruängen, with a branch to Örnsberg. It was a surface-level station with two platforms and only one exit at the southern part of the station, where it was a bus terminal. But since 2000, there is also a second exit towards the north part of Liljeholmen, which is connected to the Tvärbanan tramway station Liljeholmen. In the beginning of the 2000s (decade), the station was rebuilt to an underground-station, with a new 3rd platform for trains towards Fruängen/Norsborg, which is connected to a new underground-bus-terminal, and above the station, new squares and houses were built.

Liljeholmen is a district of the Hägersten-Liljeholmen borough in Söderort, the southern suburban part of Stockholm.

Reimersholme is a small island in central Stockholm, lying to the west of Södermalm and to the south of the neighbouring island Långholmen. As of 2006 Reimersholme is inhabited by 2,324 people, living in 1,527 dwellings, and with an average annual income of SEK 306,500. 12 percent of the inhabitants have a foreign background. Until June 24, 1798 Reimersholme was called Räkneholmen. Its present name refers to Anders Reimer (1727-1816), a hatter and magistrate whose estate can still be found on the east side of the island. Despite its vicinity to Södermalm, Reimersholme formed part of Brännkyrka parish and Liljeholmen municipality from 1898 until 1912, both of which are now part of the southern suburbs, and was not incorporated into the city of Stockholm until 1913 together with the remaining part of Brännkyrka. It formed part of the parish of Brännkyrka until 1957 when it became part of Högalid parish, the western part of Södermalm. The first housing on the island was built in the 1880s close to Charlottenburg. A wool manufacturing plant, Stockholms Yllefabrik, was built during the 1860s where prisoners from Långholmen Prison used to work. The factory was declared bankrupt in 1934 and the area was bought by HSB, a corporative housing association, in 1939. HSB had 900 apartments built on the northern and eastern part of the island during the period 1942–1946. In the 1980s the remaining southern part of the island, previously a site occupied by the alcohol manufacturer Reymersholms Spritförädlings AB, was transformed into a housing area. Reimersholme is connected to Stockholm by the bridge Reimersholmsbron, which is 39 meters long and 13 meters wide. Bus services to the city have been operated since 1967 by bus line 66 and since 1986 by bus line 40. In 2015, the bus line 40 was discontinued and replaced with the new line 54.

Midsommarkransen metro station is a station on the red line of the Stockholm metro, located in the district of Midsommarkransen. The station was opened on 5 April 1964 as part of the first stretch of the Red line, between T-Centralen and Fruängen. The distance to Slussen is 4.6 km (2.9 mi). This is the last underground station in line 14 heading in the west direction.

Midsommarkransen (The Midsummer Wreath) is a suburban district of Stockholm with a history from 1775. The underground metro station opened in 1964.

Reimersholmsbron or Reimersbron (Swedish: "The Reimer Islet Bridge") is a bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden, connecting the major island Södermalm to the minor island Reimersholme. The first bridge passing over to Reimersholme is present on a map dated 1819. It is said to have been built by lieutenant general Johan August Sandel in preparation for a visit by Charles XIV. The present bridge was built 1942–43.In contrast to Långholmsbron, the bridge leading over to Långholmen where the Långholmen prison was once located and popularly referred to as Suckarnas bro ("The Bridge of Sighs"), Reimersholmsbron, which once led to an island which was home to a major distillery, was called Kluckarnas bro ("The Bridge of Clucks").

The Västberga helicopter robbery occurred on 23 September 2009 at 05:15 CET when a G4S cash service depot was robbed in Västberga in southern Stockholm, Sweden. The robbers used a stolen Bell 206 Jet Ranger as transport and landed on the rooftop of the G4S building.The police were unable to use their own helicopters to pursue the robbers since decoy bombs had been placed close to them. A 7-million-Swedish-krona reward was announced the following day for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the robbers and/or the return of the stolen goods. This was the first robbery involving a helicopter in Swedish history.

Långholmen Prison, officially Långholmen Central Prison (Swedish: Långholmens centralfängelse), was historically one of the largest prison facilities in Sweden with more than 500 cells, located on the island of Långholmen in Stockholm. It was built 1874—1880 as the central prison of Sweden, and was temporary closed down between 1972–1975. Afterwards, Långholmens spinnhus was moved. Today the building is being used as a hotel/hostel and museum, as well as to accommodate a folk high school. Part of the prison was demolished in 1982. The prison is also noted for being the location of the last execution in Sweden prior to the abolition of capital punishment in 1921. The hostel was taken into usage in May 1989.The island itself was originally rocky and barren, but in the 19th century, the prisoners were made to cover the island with mud dredged from the waterways around it. After a few years, the fertile soil had turned the island into a lush garden with a somewhat exotic flora compared to its surroundings, caused by various seeds accidentally brought and spread by the trade and merchant ships from other places and countries that passed by the island. This peculiarity still persists, and today the island is known as a lush oasis.

Långholmsbron (Swedish: "The Long Islet Bridge") is a bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. Connecting the major island Södermalm to the minor island Långholmen, it forms an extension to the street Bergsundsgatan. The bridge was formerly called Spinnhusbron ("The spinning house Bridge") in reference to the precursor to the Långholmen prison, and, popularly, Suckarnas bro ("The Bridge of Sighs"), also in reference to the prison. Its present name stems from 1885. The section of Västerbron, the bridge overpassing Långholmsbron, used to be called Långholmsbron. Most likely, an old wooden bridge was found here by the mid 17th century, as this was the location for a custom house dealing with the ships delivering goods to the city from Lake Mälaren. Nevertheless, it is present on a map dated 1733 and was replaced by a new wooden, four-span truss bridge in 1845, 33 metres long, and 6 metres wide. In 1931, the present three-span steel girder bridge was inaugurated; 56 metres in length and 8 metres wide with a roadway of 5.6 metres.

Mariebergsbron (Swedish: "The Marieberg Bridge") is a bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. Formerly known as Lilla Essingebron, it connects the islands Kungsholmen to Lilla Essingen. The current name is due to the vicinity to the city district Marieberg. The first bridge at this location, replacing a hand-pulled ferry, was built in 1907 and financed by local landowners. It was a rather heavy concrete bridge with a five metres wide roadway flanked by two 0,5 metres thick edges.The bridge was transferred over to the city in 1916, and as Lilla Essingen was being exploited in the 1930s, the bridge was replaced by the current steel bridge with trussed girders. It is 109 meters long; offers a horizontal clearance of 12 metres; is 15 metres wide with a roadway of 10 metres.

Långholmen is an island between Södermalm and Kungsholmen in central Stockholm, Sweden. The island can be reached via two bridges; Pålsundsbron in the east and Långholmsbron in the west. Långholmen is a popular spot for walks, picnics and swimming. The small beaches, located right outside the former prison, are usually crowded in summer.
