The Seine ( sayn, sen; French: [sɛn] ) is a 777-kilometre-long (483 mi) river in northern France. Its drainage basin is in the Paris Basin (a geological relative lowland) covering most of northern France. It rises at Source-Seine, 30 kilometres (19 mi) northwest of Dijon in northeastern France in the Langres plateau, flowing through Paris and into the English Channel at Le Havre (and Honfleur on the left bank). It is navigable by ocean-going vessels as far as Rouen, 120 kilometres (75 mi) from the sea. Over 60 percent of its length, as far as Burgundy, is negotiable by large barges and most tour boats, and nearly its whole length is available for recreational boating; excursion boats offer sightseeing tours of the river banks in the capital city, Paris. There are 37 bridges in Paris across the Seine (the most famous of which are the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont Neuf) and dozens more outside the city.

The Le Havre raid was a two-day naval bombardment of the French port of Le Havre early in July 1759 by a Royal Navy fleet under Rear-Admiral of the Blue George Rodney during the Seven Years' War, which succeeded in its aim of destroying many of the invasion barges being gathered there for the planned French invasion of Britain.

The river Lézarde is one of the rivers that flow from the plateau of the southern Pays de Caux in the Seine-Maritime département of Normandy into the Seine. The river rises at Saint-Martin-du-Bec and passes Notre-Dame-du-Bec, Rolleville, Épouville, Montivilliers and joins the Seine at Harfleur. It is 14.2 km (8.8 mi) long.

The Stade Océane (French pronunciation: [stad ɔsean]; or Grand Stade du Havre and Stade CMA CGM Océane for sponsorship reasons), is a multi-purpose stadium with 25,178 seated places for sports events and 33,000 for shows, located in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime), France. Mainly used for football, but also equipped with a performance space for artistic events, it hosts the matches of Le Havre AC, a club currently competing in Ligue 1. It was built on the site of the former Soquence rail yard, which the Le Havre urban community (CODAH) purchased from Réseau Ferré de France in 2008. The site is located on the opposite side of the city from Stade Jules-Deschaseaux. The total cost of the Grand Stade du Havre project amounted to €80 million. It was inaugurated on 12 July 2012, becoming the largest stadium in Normandy with 25,178 seats.

Stade Jules Deschaseaux (French pronunciation: [stad ʒyl deʃazo]) is a multi-purpose stadium in Le Havre, France. It has been used mostly for football matches for most of its existence as the former home of Le Havre AC. The stadium is able to hold 16,400 people and was built in 1932. It hosted one match at the 1938 FIFA World Cup between Czechoslovakia and the Netherlands. In 2012, it was replaced by the newly constructed Stade Océane. The ground is now used by the rugby section of Havre Athlétique Club.

Le Havre-Graville is a former station in the Graville-Sainte-Honorine quarter of the city of Le Havre. It is situated on the Paris–Le Havre railway and the Lézarde Express Régionale line to Rolleville. It was served by local trains from Le Havre to Montivilliers and Rolleville until 2024.

Harfleur (pronounced [aʁflœʁ]) is a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region of northern France. It was the principal seaport in north-western France for six centuries, until Le Havre was built about five kilometres (three miles) downstream in the sixteenth century to take advantage of anchorages less prone to siltation. Harfleur is now on the eastern edge of Le Havre's urban area.

Abbaye de Graville (Abbey of Graville) is an abbey located in the city of Le Havre, in the Normandy region of France. The architectural complex was founded in the 11th century and consists of a church, conventual buildings, a refectory, a cloister, a garden, and a cemetery. Nowadays, one of the departments of the Museum of Art and History of Le Havre (Musée d'Art et d'Histoire du Havre) is located in the Abbey.

The Port of Le Havre is the port and port authority of the French city of Le Havre. It is the second-largest commercial port in France in terms of overall tonnage, and the largest container port, with three sets of terminals. It can accommodate all sizes of world cruise liners, and a major new marina is being planned. Le Havre is linked to Portsmouth, England by Brittany Ferries.

The canton of Le Havre-3 is an administrative division of the Seine-Maritime department, in northern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Le Havre. The siege of Harfleur (18 August – 22 September 1415) was conducted by the English army of King Henry V in Normandy, France, during the Hundred Years' War. The defenders of Harfleur surrendered to the English on terms and were treated as prisoners of war. It was the first time that an English army made significant use of gunpowder artillery in the siege of a large urban settlement. The English army was considerably reduced by casualties and an outbreak of dysentery during the siege but marched towards Calais, leaving a garrison behind at the port. The English were intercepted en route and fought the Battle of Agincourt (25 October), inflicting a huge defeat on the French.
