Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre (VHHSC) is an acute care hospital affiliated with the University of British Columbia and located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The VHHSC is the second largest hospital in Canada, with 1,900 beds and nearly 116,000 patients each year. VHHSC employs 9500 staff and utilizes 1000 volunteers. As of 2005, the hospital's annual budget is $463 million. It is managed by Vancouver Coastal Health.

The National Core for Neuroethics at the University of British Columbia was established in August 2007, with support from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Institute of Mental Health and Addiction, the Canada Foundation for Innovation, the British Columbia Knowledge Development Fund, the Canada Research Chairs program, the UBC Brain Research Centre and the UBC Institute of Mental Health. Co-founded by Judy Illes and Peter Reiner, the Core studies neuroethics, with particular focus on ethics in neurodegenerative disease and regenerative medicine, international and cross-cultural challenges in brain research, neuroimaging and ethics, the neuroethics of enhancement, and personalized medicine.The Core's major research projects are focused on the use of drugs and devices for neuroenhancement, ethics in neurodegenerative disease and regenerative medicine research, brain research, neuroimaging in the private sector, and the ethics of personalized medicine, among others. Members of the Core also lead initiatives aside from their research projects. Considerable attention has been given to the Core by both the scholarly and non-academic media, with the Core featured in The New York Times, the Vancouver Sun, on the Canwest Global Newshour, and in the journal Science, amongst others. As an effort to engage the public in neuroethics discussion, the Core has recently started an online blog.

Vancouver General Hospital (locally known as VGH, or Vancouver General) is a medical facility located in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is the largest facility in the Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre (VHHSC) group of medical facilities. VGH is Canada's third largest hospital by bed count, after Hamilton General Hospital, and Foothills Medical Centre.Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is responsible for all operations at Vancouver General Hospital.

GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre is the largest rehabilitation hospital in British Columbia. It is located in the South Cambie neighbourhood of Vancouver. It provides inpatient, outpatient, outreach and clinical support services to clients/patients across British Columbia and the Yukon in four unique programs: Acquired Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Neuromusculoskeletal. It also has specialized programs for adolescents and young adults. Health care professionals such physiatrists deliver individually tailored treatment for people with the most serious and complex injuries and illnesses requiring rehabilitation. The team caring for patients at GFS may include: Occupational Therapists, Physiatrists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers and Speech Language Pathologists depending on the patients needs. Recreational therapists, Music therapists, Art therapists and peer support workers are also important parts of the rehabilitation team.

Congregation Beth Israel is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue located at 989 West 28th Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was founded in 1925, but did not formally incorporate until 1932. Its first rabbi was Ben Zion Bokser, hired that year. He was succeeded the following year by Samuel Cass (1933–1941). Other rabbis included David Kogen (1946–1955), Bert Woythaler (1956–1963), and Wilfred Solomon, who served for decades starting in 1964.The congregation worshiped at the Jewish Community Center in Fairview until 1948, when it opened its current building at 4350 Oak Street. By the end of the 1960s, it was the largest Jewish congregation in Vancouver, and by the 1990s, it was Canada's largest Conservative congregation west of Winnipeg. Charles Feinberg was rabbi from 1998 to 2006, and he was succeeded that year by Jonathan Infeld.As of 2010, Beth Israel had over 700 member families. The current rabbi is Jonathan Infeld, and the assistant rabbi is Adam Stein.

Oak–VGH is a planned underground station for the Millennium Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. It will be located at the southwest corner of the intersection of West Broadway and Laurel Street near Vancouver General Hospital in the Fairview neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is scheduled to open in 2025.During planning, the station was known as Fairview–VGH. On September 17, 2020, the station was renamed to include reference to the nearby Oak Street, only one block west of the station.

Fairview is a neighbourhood on the west side of the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It runs from 16th Avenue in the south, to Burrard Street in the west, to Cambie Street in the east, and to False Creek in the north. Central Broadway is an important commercial and employment centre focused around Vancouver General Hospital and other health-related institutions, including the BC Cancer Agency, BC Cancer Research Centre, BC Healthy Living Alliance, and the BC Centre for Disease Control. Other shopping areas in the neighbourhood are South Granville Rise, City Square Shopping Centre, and Granville Island. Some city offices are located on the eastern fringe of Fairview, across Cambie Street from Vancouver City Hall.

Hycroft Manor is a mansion in the Shaughnessy district of Vancouver. It was designed and built in 1909–12 by Thomas Hooper for Alexander Duncan McRae who was a businessman, farmer, politician and soldier. The internal plasterwork was sculpted by Charles Marega. During the Second World War, it was donated by McRae to be used as a hospital for wounded soldiers. In 1962, it was bought by the Canadian Federation of University Women who renovated it to be their clubhouse.

South Cambie is a neighbourhood in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, that is generally considered one of the smallest neighbourhoods in the city, both in size and in population. It is wedged between one of the city's largest parks and the upscale neighbourhood of Shaughnessy, and is known for a large cluster of medical facilities.

BC Children's Hospital Foundation (BCCHF) is a Canadian non-profit registered charity that raises money to support the British Columbia Children's Hospital. The Foundation works with communities to raise funds for essentials including: life-saving equipment, research into childhood diseases, a wide range of medical staff and community child health education programs. Since 1982, BC Children's Hospital Foundation has partnered with children, families, health professionals, and other British Columbia residents to raise funds to support BC Children's Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, and the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute.

British Columbia Children's Hospital is a medical facility located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and is an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority. It specializes in health care for patients from birth to 16 years of age (possibly longer if followed by a specialist team). It is also a teaching and research facility for children's medicine. The hospital includes the Sunny Hill Health Centre, which provides specialized services to children and youth with developmental disabilities aged birth to 18 years. The hospital employs more than 650 doctors. The hospital is adjacent to the B.C. Women's Hospital & Health Centre. Previously, the two were officially a single organization and were known as the Children's & Women's Health Centre of British Columbia.Working with the hospital and the community, the BC Children's Hospital Foundation raises funds to support and enhance the delivery of pediatric care in British Columbia. The Foundation provides funding to B.C. Children's Hospital, as well as its sister facilities, the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute, to support research into childhood diseases, the purchase of medical equipment, and a range of child health education and training programs.

The BC Cancer Research Centre (also known as the BCCRC, BC Cancer Agency Research Centre, or BCCA Cancer Research Centre) is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Scientists and researchers perform basic, epidemiological, and clinical research on cancer prevention, early diagnosis of cancer, the molecular and genetic characteristics of the cancer process, and basic research related to new treatments for cancer. With direct links to the cancer centres across the province, discoveries at the Research Centre are quickly translated into clinical applications. In 2005 the Canada Green Building Council certified the building had met LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold standards for its sustainable design, making it the first health-care facility in Canada to attain that distinction.
