Feng Chia University (FCU; Chinese: 逢甲大學) is a private research university in Taiwan, located in Taichung. It was named after Chiu Feng-Chia one of the leaders of the military resistance against the Japanese invasion of Taiwan in 1895. Feng Chia University has partnership with Purdue University, RMIT University, University of Zaragoza, and San Jose State University.

Zhang Liao Family Temple (Chinese: 張廖家廟; pinyin: Zhāngliào Jiāmiào) is an ancestral shrine located in East District, Taichung City, Taiwan. Built in 1904, the shrine is protected as a city monument.

Taichung Shuinan Airport (IATA: TXG, ICAO: RCLG) (Chinese: 臺中水湳機場; pinyin: Táizhōng Shuǐnǎn Jīchǎng) was an airport located in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. It had an area of 250 hectares. The name originates from Shuinan, a village in nearby Beitun District.

The Shuinan Economic and Trade Park (traditional Chinese: 臺中水湳經貿生態園區; simplified Chinese: 台中水湳经贸生态园区; pinyin: Táizhōng Shuǐnǎn Jīngmào Shēngtài Yuánqū) is an industrial park in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan.

The Intelligence Operation Center (Chinese: 智慧營運中心; pinyin: Zhìhuì yíngyùn zhōngxīn) is a proposed skyscraper in Taichung's 7th Redevelopment Zone, Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. Designed by the Taiwanese architectural firm Ricky Liu & Associates partnered with French architect Christian de Portzamparc, the building will rise 262 m (860 ft) and will comprise 46 floors above ground.The building was U/C in 2021 and was originally scheduled to start construction in 2019 and will be completed in 2022. However, the development schedule has been delayed. After the building is complete, Intelligence Operation Center will surpass The Landmark (Taichung) to become the tallest skyscraper in Taichung and central Taiwan. The building will be equipped with solar panels on the south outer wall. In addition to generating solar energy, it can block light and heat and provide shade. In addition, the hollow design of the entire building allows wind to flow into the building’s green energy design, representing Taichung's future direction towards a sustainable city.

Overseas Chinese University (OCU; Chinese: 僑光科技大學) is a private university in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. It was founded in 1964 by the Hsin Tien Kong Educational Foundation, and was originally called the Overseas Chinese Junior College. OCU offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields, including management, computer science, engineering, design, law, and health sciences.

Wanin International Headquarters (Chinese: 網銀國際總部; pinyin: Wǎngyín guójì zǒngbù), is an under-construction, 150.5 m (494 ft), 28-storey skyscraper office building located in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. Construction of the building began in June 2022. Upon completion in 2025, the building will serve as the new headquarters for Wanin International, a Taiwanese video game developer based in Taichung.

The T-Power (Chinese: 親家市政廣場; pinyin: Qīn jiā shìzhèng guǎngchǎng) is a skyscraper office building located in Taichung's 7th Redevelopment Zone, Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. The building was completed in 2018. The height of the building is 125.6 m (412 ft), the floor area is 30,911 m2 (332,720 sq ft), and it comprises 28 floors above ground, as well as seven basement levels.

Wenxin Yinghua is a metro station on the Green Line operated by Taichung Metro in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan.The station name is taken from its location at the intersection of Wenxin and Yinghua roads.

Chuhofa Sky Building (Chinese: 聚合發天廈) is a 38-story, 144.7 m (475 ft) residential skyscraper completed in 2016 and located in Taichung's 7th Redevelopment Zone, Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. As of February 2021, it is 23rd tallest building in Taichung. The building was constructed under strict requirements of preventing damage caused by earthquakes and typhoons common in Taiwan.

On 13 February 2025, a gas explosion occurred at the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store in the Xitun District of Taichung, Taiwan. Five people were killed, including three tourists from Macau who were struck by debris, and 38 were injured, making it the deadliest incident in the history of Taiwanese department stores. Investigations are underway as of 2025, but according to the Taichung District Prosecutors Office (zh) and Fire Bureau of the Taichung City Government (zh), the gas explosion was the result of an improper cut of natural gas pipelines during renovation, thus believed that the incident was a gas explosion. The Taichung City government fined the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store 1.5 million NTD for failing to follow construction regulations. The store's staff received paid leave during its suspension, while the department store still operates some smaller pop-up retails.

Top City (Chinese: 台中大遠百) is a shopping mall located in the 7th Redevelopment Zone of Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan that opened on 22 December 2011. The mall is owned and operated by the Far Eastern Group. With a total floor area of 178,895 m2 (1,925,610 sq ft) and 14 floors above ground and 2 floors below ground, it is the largest shopping center in Taichung when it opened. Main core stores of the mall include Tissot, Hermes, Bvlgari, Gap, Nike and various other high end brands and themed restaurants. In March 2021, the second authorized Lego store in Taiwan opened in the mall.
