Place de l'Odéon (Odeon Square) is a semicircular plaza located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, France.

Café Voltaire, named after the writer and philosopher Voltaire, was a former café and restaurant located on Place de l'Odeon in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, France. The café was open from the early 19th century until the middle of the 20th century. It served as a gathering place for artists and students. The site is currently the headquarters of the literature department of the publishing house Groupe Flammarion (Flammarion Editions).

The Salle du Bel-Air or Salle du Jeu de Paume de Béquet (Hall of the Béquet Tennis Court), also spelled Becquet, was a 1672 theatre located in Paris, France. Originally an indoor tennis court (jeu de paume) it was converted by the Italian designer Carlo Vigarani into a theatre which was used by Jean-Baptiste Lully's Paris Opera from 15 November 1672 to 1 February 1673. It was located in the Rue de Vaugirard, just west of the city moat (fossé) and the Rue des Fossés Monsieur-le-Prince (now the Rue Monsieur-le-Prince). Today the site of the former theatre extends into the Rue de Médicis, just south of no. 15 (or 13 bis) Rue de Vaugirard.

The Foyot bombing was a bomb attack carried out on 4 April 1894, in Paris against the Foyot restaurant, located at 33 rue de Tournon, fifty meters from the French Senate. This attack, which took place during the Ère des attentats (1892-1894), injured four people, including the anarchists Laurent Tailhade and Julia Miahle, when a bomb hidden in a flower pot exploded. It followed the Madeleine bombing. The identity of the perpetrator and the motive for this attack remain unknown, as the police at the time favored the idea of an anarchist attack possibly committed by Félix Fénéon, Louis Matha, or Paul Delesalle targeting a location associated with the French Senate, without real success. A crime of passion aimed at Tailhade was also suggested, although such a hypothesis seems very unlikely. According to Philippe Oriol, the most probable hypotheses are that it was either a police conspiracy by the French authorities against Tailhade aimed at legitimizing anti-anarchist repression or an attack launched by the Okhrana, the secret police of the Russian Empire, active in terrorism in Paris at that time and seeking to provoke unrest in France.

The Crémerie-Restaurant Polidor is a historic restaurant in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Its predecessor was founded in 1845, and it has had its present name since the beginning of the 20th century. The interior of the restaurant is basically unchanged for over 100 years, and the style of cooking remains that of the late 19th century. The Polidor is located at 41, rue Monsieur-le-Prince in the Odéon area, near the Jardin du Luxembourg. Its name derives from the cream desserts it served in former decades. Most diners sit at long, shared tables, with communal saltcellars and pots of mustard. Its bathroom, unchanged for decades, has been described as "legendary."In addition to its decor and cuisine, the Polidor is best known for its illustrious clientele. It is said to have been a favourite of André Gide's, as well as hosting James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, Antonin Artaud, Paul Valéry, Boris Vian, Julio Cortázar, Jack Kerouac, and Henry Miller. It is also known for being the meeting place of the Collège de ’Pataphysique, and its principals, French writers Luc Étienne and Raymond Queneau. The Polidor remains a popular restaurant on the Left Bank, particularly among students at the nearby University of Paris (Sorbonne) and Collège de France. In 2011, it featured in the film Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen. In 2017, it was the setting for the music video for "Desencuentro", a song by Puerto Rican singer Residente. The video features Charlotte Le Bon and Édgar Ramírez.In the Lee Child novel The Enemy, the protagonist Jack Reacher has dinner with his brother Joe and their French mother Josephine at Polidor. Polidor is a famous old restaurant. It makes you feel like all kinds of people have eaten there. Gourmets, spies, painters, fugitives, cops, robbers.

The rue de l'Odéon is a street in the Odéon quarter of the 6th arrondissement of Paris on the Left Bank. Because of the presence of two bohemian bookstores, run respectively by Adrienne Monnier and Sylvia Beach, and the coterie of emergent Anglophone writers surrounding them, James Joyce nicknamed it "Stratford-on-Odéon". Monnier and Beach thought of it as Odéonia.

The Medici Fountain (French: la fontaine Médicis) is a monumental fountain in the Jardin du Luxembourg in the 6th arrondissement in Paris. It was built in about 1630 by Marie de' Medici, the widow of King Henry IV of France and regent of King Louis XIII of France. It was moved to its present location and extensively rebuilt in 1864-66.

The Fontaine de Léda, also sometimes referred to as the Fontaine du Regard, is a Parisian sculptural wall fountain built in 1806–1808 during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte. The fountain depicts the legend of Leda and the Swan, with a central bas-relief panel by Achille Valois. It was originally located at the corner of the rue de Vaugirard and rue du Regard, hence the alternative name; however, in 1864, during the reconstruction of Paris by Emperor Louis Napoleon, the fountain was moved to the back side of the Medici Fountain in the Luxembourg Garden, where it remains.

The Maison d'Auguste Comte, also known as the Musée Auguste Comte, is a private writer's house museum and archive dedicated to positivist philosopher Auguste Comte (1798–1857). It is maintained by the Association internationale Auguste Comte, located in the 6th arrondissement at 10, rue Monsieur-le-Prince, Paris, France, and open Wednesday afternoons, with a guided tour at 3:30 p.m.; an admission fee is required. The closest Paris Métro station is Odéon. Comte lived on the 2nd floor of 10, rue Monsieur le Prince from 1841 to his death in 1857, where he wrote the four volumes of Système de politique positive (1851–1854), his last treatise of positivist philosophy. The apartment has subsequently been restored and reconstructed as it was at the philosopher's death. It consists of five main rooms (dining room, living room, study, classroom, bedroom) with vestibule, and contains Comte's writing desk, portraits of Clotilde de Vaux and various disciples, personal effects, and handwritten letters, as well as a library of positivist writings that contains about 600 books in French, including first editions of his works, 250 books in other languages, a thousand brochures, and four collections of periodicals.

The Rue de Tournon is a street in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, France. To the south, it offers a view of the Senate façade. At its northern end, it continues into the Rue de Seine, which leads to the Seine River. The street is located near the Jardin du Luxembourg.

The Luxembourg Palace (French: Palais du Luxembourg, pronounced [palɛ dy lyksɑ̃buʁ]) is at 15 Rue de Vaugirard in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It was originally built (1615–1645) to the designs of the French architect Salomon de Brosse to be the royal residence of the regent Marie de' Medici, mother of King Louis XIII. After the Revolution it was refashioned (1799–1805) by Jean Chalgrin into a legislative building and subsequently greatly enlarged and remodeled (1835–1856) by Alphonse de Gisors. The palace has been the seat of the upper houses of the various French national legislatures (excepting only the unicameral National Assembly of the Second Republic) since the establishment of the Sénat conservateur during the Consulate; as such, it has been home to the Senate of the Fifth Republic since its establishment in 1958.Immediately west of the palace on the Rue de Vaugirard is the Petit Luxembourg, now the residence of the Senate President; and slightly further west, the Musée du Luxembourg, in the former orangery. On the south side of the palace, the formal Luxembourg Garden presents a 25-hectare (62-acre) green parterre of gravel and lawn populated with statues and large basins of water where children sail model boats.
